My dear Adwitiya,

It is very easy for me, who did my last exams decades ago, to advise you on these matters, but two little rules might help.

One, do not stint on your sleep. 4 hours a night is not enough at your age unless, I am told, you are Shahrukh Khan😉And over several days, such sleep deprivation will turn you into a zombie and it will affect your performance. You won't even know that it is happening, but it will happen.

Two, get some fresh air and some physical activity - like a brisk walk or a game of some kind - during breaks after 3-4 hours of study or work on your assignments. DON'T COME HERE for that break. It might feel like it is very rejuvenating, but the fact is that sitting in front of a laptop or typing away on your smartphone does NOT relax either your mind or your body. It is a placebo, not a medicine. Plus it is very addictive, and one never realises how much time has gone by here.

In fact, l would strongly advise you to do what many young ladies here do, and take a sabbatical from the IF till you are thru with this heavy workload.

It will be tough in the beginning, like kicking a smoking habit, but with a little determination, you will be able to do it. After 2 days, you will not even feel the urge to log in. Then, when you are free of all these stresses, you can come back with renewed vigour and a relaxed mind, which is not being pulled and pushed in two opposite directions.

There is nothing going on here that you cannot do without for a week or 10 days. In your place, this is what I would do. Think about it, and you might just agree with me!
