Ok dear, will be patient and take your word for it but please don't make me wait all the way to chapter 60!!😆 I am definitely not much into push pull kind of romance. Don't care for it, so no worries on that front. But you can still make them get lost somewhere on their own.😳 JK.Devki

Lashykanna,
I have had a rough couple of days, and it is now 1:35 am. I have only managed to cover Divya's post, and yours is surely going to take me more time than hers, plus I have some questions to ask you as well. So I shall hit the bed now, and come back here the earliest I can tomorrow morning to finish this post. Bear with me, child!

Not that she has misled us deliberately in this case; it is a very, very clever bit of dissimulation. And I would forgive her any amount of dissimulation for that dazzling moment of revelation: I am blind... actually partially blind.
I did not need any more cards to be opened. It was all clear then and there, for that was something said between only the two of them. So it had to be him, but it was like a blinding flash of lightning.
- The Ustaad - was experienced, a mentor, retired, and respected - not because he was old but because he was held in high regard by Shehzaade (your choice of words was perfect to give the image of an older man) A very clever piece of verbal sleight of hand!
- Chota Faijan was not killed by an enemy unknown to us ... in fact it was the same as Harka's enemy- Khalil. It was for a very different reason though- Akbar and his spy were attacked due to a rivalry and animosity to get to the farmaan and stop Akbar from finding out who had helped Khalil in his attempt to get the Farmaan from Durga
As for Khalil trying to kill Akbar, one need not search for motives: jealousy wrt the Shehzaade's favour, the consequent need to make sure that Akbar did not get to the farman before Khalil did, revenge for the humiliation inflicted on him by Akbar right in front of their master.. The list would be a long one!
The Shehzaade's regard for Akbar is genuine, in good part because they share the same sense of morality in their private lives, which is a strong bond. Plus he needs Akbar and his intelligence network to keep track of his enemies and save him from them periodically. He knows that Khalil is a bludgeon, to be used on the battlefield and for breaking bones, not for problems needing a subtle mind. If he had to choose between them, he would at once choose Akbar.
But he will try to retain both, and prevent them from clashing overtly with each other, for that would be to his, the Shehzaade's detriment. So he praises Akbar to the skies, but as princes trust no one completely, he cannot keep himself from slipping in those little jabs - about Akbar becoming a threat to him, and about the favours he has done Akbar in the past. That is a classic Chanakyan tactic, to keep everyone, even those closest to you, off balance periodically, so that they do not begin to take you for granted. Thanks Periyamma for all of the above..And as for Chanakya, though I've never actually read much about him... and this wasn't inspired from anything I read about him... I am glad to know a few salient characteristics of Shehzaade synchronises with the ideals of a wizard like Chanakya...
The Shehzaade is shrewd and perceptive, and so he senses something out of the ordinary in Akbar's demeanour. He is not so much suspicious as intrigued, but he has to know if there is something brewing. I am sure he has spies keeping a tab on Akbar for him, maybe a stable boy.
I devoutly hope it is not Ibrahim, that would be too much! Lashykanna, NO! Not that!!Hayooo 😆
- What made him drawn to the appealing sight of Sahiba playing with Bahadur
- What was the slight sound of relief when he asked Ibrahm why Sahiba and entourage had not left yet (and Ibrahim looks to be equally sharp in noticing this ... and this could be a problem ...)
Likely Akbar doesn't fully understand the answer to all those questions.
He does understand them, I think, judging from his stormy altercation with his alter ego, Akbar 2, at night after the lunch. That is why he is so desperate to scotch whatever it is that is taking root in his innermost being. On the other hand, his almost obvious relief at Heera still being there when he returns -to which Ibrahim will soon get wise - is the counter-pull. Both are strong and both are equally valid.Yes... he realises what's happening but can't stop it..
What will truly emerge from Akbar's heart is the trump card that will change the shape of this entire game. Shehzaade had called Akbar a Protector and that is what he will be to Harka, at least in the near term.
He will be her protector, period. There is no one else with the strength and the will to do that. The problem is how he is to square the circle - Heera's unshakeable loyalty to Parnagarh vs the Shehzaade's equally unshakeable determination to get at those iron ore mines. He cannot afford to antagonise the Shehzaade; that will not save Heera, it will only destroy them both. It is going to call for very nimble footwork.Such an interesting analysis this was...
And what to say for Harka, her giggles did not realize that whose presence she felt brought life back to Aidabad was actually bringing back Shehzaade's spy against her and her homeland. But for now, Aidabad is the best place for her- safe from Khalil and Mahendar.
But for how long? If there is no response, and there can be none, from Maharaj Chitranjan for another 3 days, Heera would have to move on to Bansi. Akbar would not want that, either for personal reasons linked to his own heart, or for political reasons linked to the Shehzaade. I am waiting to see how he gets her to stay put for a while longer. What are the political reasons the Shehzaade might want Akbar to keep back Heera (since he has no idea about the scrolls?)and as for personal reasons, is it not better if she leaves? Since things are getting awkwardly obvious to him...

Your last point, my dear Sandhya, is tempting, but it will not work. The Shehzaade would simply have Akbar eliminated before he could move to expose him. He would not let himself be blackmailed by a subordinate, and thus betray a crippling weakness.
It has to be something else. Akbar can perhaps divert the Shehzaade's attention to something else as lucrative as Parnagarh. I don't know what, so don't ask me, there is my good girl!Ascertain the intelligence gathered by a spy by deploying another spy.It has to be either Ibrahim or Azeez. Lashy's Shehzaade cannot plan out anything less.

It is going to call for very nimble footwork.Maybe being the CIO UAMK has or gathers information or documents that he can use to bargain. But given Shehzaade's powers and position it has to be something really BIG to stop him. Am eagerly looking forward to the climax which will surely be a tight rope walk.
