the answer is no... let's not forget he comes from a royal lineage... he has been brought up in very polished surroundings, with exposure to scholars, surrounded by learned women etc... he has been taught and trained to keep himself in check, just as much as he has been taught skills of warfare...

So, however ambitious he is.. however cunning he is.. however ruthless he is during riots and battles... how much ever he despises his own family members... he wouldn't do something like this, simply because it's beneath him to do so...

However, his men might... and whether he stops them or not/punishes them or not (like Akbar would have) is what decides whether he is a just ruler or a despot! More will be clearer as the chapters come anyway...

in this story, apart from Heera.. I don't think anyone is fully white or black.. (except Khalil, of course) everyone has got different shades of grey in them...

It unfolds many aspects of the characters.

Ustad! A master of many arts and yet a man of few words.

This man seems to be more intriguing than Akbar Khan. Perhaps he needs to be tackled/manipulated first before Shehzaade and Khalil for Heera's mission.

Watching his actions with uncertainty, a group of soldiers protectively approached the group, standing between the Shehzaade and the general.

So, Khalil is not that absolute trustworthy for Shehzaade as well as other soldiers, as he is known for his violent tempers. Khalil's deeds already tarnished Shehzaade's reputation and most probably he can't acquire Parnagarh soon. It's a silver lining in that disastrous situation of the Parnagarhis.

Umm... somewhat felt u defending d ustad in some of yr comments. I feel some connection between Akbar Khan and this Ustad. I may be wrong, just a hunch.

I agree with some of the members' views...if Khalil could have managed to get the farman & their plan succeeded, the prince might have turned a blind eye to his misdeeds.

I always loved the character Heera. She is calm, poised and non hesitative of her emotions, whereas Akbar not sure of him.

Khan sahib is counting skills of Heera...and they are opening to each other. May be many more emotions to open up in coming chapters.

He is trustworthy towards his master... but, war has made him into a brutal psychopath...

Exactly! What mattered for d Prince was d farman, not the ways to acquire it.
