Bhavu your reply prompted me to do a bit of reading... and I found an incident in Aurangazeb's life (though only vaguely) that resembled what happened here...

During one of his battles against his brother, Dara... (most Hindus fought on Dara's side - but Dara was losing)

Apparently, there was a young brave Rajput prince who decided to give it his all seeing how they were not winning... and this prince charged through the enemy went under Aurangazeb's elephant and tried to injure it... to bring the man down...

Even during the battle, aurangazeb was amazed by this boy's bravery... and asked his soldiers to capture him alive... because he wanted to meet him.. but the boy had died...

Of course, I doubt Aurangazeb would have spared the Rajput prince's life for long... but I guess he was amazed by his bravery and wanted to meet him once??? Don't know...

So it sort of reminded me of the dialogue 'Durga Sahiba.. I would have liked to meet her once...'

Honestly, since you never mention his name in the chapters, I had forgotten that this is Aurangzeb...😆 Was taking him to be an imaginary fictional character.

Now when I know who he is, your thoughts are sinking in better. And I agree with them. From what I know of Aurangzeb, he was more grey than black. And somehow I think he would not do what K did.

its v interesting...actually Aurangzeb's personality is quiet complicated...I have read rather a lot about his views rather his mentality while dealing with d hindu temples...I would like to share 1 story here sorry for being off track...I had heard this story from my aunty...she had read it in gurucharitra...a book on life of guru swami Samarth d spiritual guru of shirdi saibaba...it is said that in mahararshtra there is 1 place I forget that place it was a hamlet then it seems Aurangzeb was passing by d temple of datatriya who is considered d avatar of brahma Vishnu and Mahesh...I think u mite b knowing about this lash...and it seems he heard d sound of d priest where d puja was being performed and so just to check whether d god specifically hindu deity was present or not he offered a silver plate full of meat but was covered with silk cloth...and was handed over to that priest d priest dint dared to open up and see but he knew it was defo something fishy and so he just placed it on d feet of d deity and after worshipping he returned d same place to aurangzeb without even opening again...aurangzeb was v much happy as he had offered a plate full of meat to d hindu god and so he unveiled d cloth and to his rather everyone's surprise d plate had full of fragrant rose petals and d meat was no where to b seen...this made him surprise as well as shocked and so he it seems gifted that priest a jagir and money to take care of d temple and to carry out all d necessary rituals on daily basis...so I feel his personality was quiet intriguing...I know some od u mite not believe this story but that's what was given in d guru charitra... book... 😊 his personality is similar to tipu sultan...again soory for being off topic... 😃
