CHAPTER 3

"No don't leave me and go. No, No, NOOO!!!!!!!" and she got up with that nightmare again. In the early cold winter morning (5 am), she was sweating very badly as if it was the hottest day of summer. Her breath was uneven and a good amount of fear was visible on her face. She took her pallu and wiped her sweat on her face and neck and got up from the floor, took her stuff from the bag and went inside the bathroom which was near kitchen to get ready for the daily cores.

Other side, the sun had raise and the light fell directly on Jalal's face. With this, he got up and sat on bed with a head ache because of the last night drinks. He got up and went towards the drawer to take a pain killer and after taking it, he went inside the wash room.

Maham also got up after the sun rose and she got in wash room to get ready. She got ready really fast and came down to see the new free maid who is appointed yesterday. She came down and was surprised to see Jodha had already started cleaning the hall with the broom. She came near her and taunted her.

MAHAM: - Good, you have started doing work. I thought that I have to come and kick you to wake you up but you are quite smart. (And she went away from there. Jodha didn't say anything and continued with her work.)

After a while when Jodha was about to go in next room for cleaning, someone tapped her on her shoulders. She turned around and was shocked to see Rukaiya at Mohammad Mansion That even so early otherwise before 10 am Rukaiya never got out of her room. When she entered the hall, she saw the most peaceful sight of her life, Jodha working like a servant. She could not stop herself and went near her and said.

RUKAIYA: - Hi Jodha, I hope you are enjoying here by doing your favorite work CLEANING. I wished I could have seen you when Jalal threw you out of his room but no matter I will go and ask him. (And went away from there to Jalal's room. Jodha was seeing at her retreating figure which disappeared when she entered Jalal's room. She closed her eyes with a hurt feeling and that pain came out of her eyes in the form of a lone tear. She wanted to cry at her fate but she knew that no one would come and lessen her pain, so she ignored it and went to other room.)

Other side, Rukaiya entered his room and saw him putting on the coat. She went near him and helped him with it. Jalal understood it was Rukaiya. He asked her without looking at her.

JALAL: - So now you have got time to meet me. You could have come yesterday night.

RUKAIYA: - I am sorry Jalal, but you know that I was outside town for a fashion show and other reason was that I could not see you with that witch. So I didn't come here. (Jalal turned towards her and saw her dull face (which was fake as usual). He got tensed and pulled her into a tight hug. She was smiling and thinking "It is so easy to fool you Jalal" but Jalal was in pain. He hugged her for a while and faced her. Till that time she had changed her expression, he said)

JALAL: - I am sorry dear. I know it must be painful for you but it is more painful for me than you. Don't worry only 6 months then I don't care whether she dies or lives. I will marry you and everything will be fine. (And again they both hugged each other again unaware to the fact that someone was hearing them and her heart had broken into many pieces. She saw them in each other's arms her heart ached. She wanted to run away from there and cry out loudly to someone but if she comes without informing them Maham will not spare her and no one will help her. So she took some strength and knocked the door. Both of them faced each other and saw towards the door. Both of them got angry but Jalal was literally red hotted. He yelled) How dare you???? I had warned you not to cross my way and look at your guts, you did it today itself?????

JODHA: - Woh Ja... (He interrupted by showing his palm and said)

JALAL: - Excuse me. I am Jalal only for my family and closed once, not for people like you. You should call me SIR, which is what a servant calls his employer. (She felt immense pain in her heart but she didn't show it. But she followed that and said)

JODHA: - Sorry sir, Woh Badi Madam (Maham) has called you and Rukaiya Madam down for breakfast. (She said and went away from there without even waiting for their response. She walked fast to the room where she was cleaning, went inside the bath room and cried, just cried her heart out. She wanted to cry her heart out to somebody who will understand her, who will wipe her tears but unfortunately no one was there. She was inside the bathroom all most for 15 mins, when Maham called her.)

MAHAM: - What the hell are you doing inside????? Come out and help Annie in arranging the breakfast. (She wiped her tears, washed her face and came out of the bath room and went inside the kitchen. When she entered the kitchen she saw a middle age lady who was transferring the food to serving dishes. She went near her and asked her.)

JODHA: - Can I help you???? (Annie was surprised to hear a new voice in house and immediately saw her. She was little shocked to see a sweet innocent girl inside the kitchen. She asked)

ANNIE: - Who are you, my child????? (She was in dilemma, what to answer. One side Jalal told that no one knows about the marriage and other side if she says her truth then she will not exist in this world. So she got an answer)

JODHA: - I am Jodha, new maid of this house for cleaning and dusting. (Her heart pained while saying this. Annie believed her and asked her to help in transferring the food into serving bowls.)

After Jalal, Rukaiya and Maham finished their breakfast; Jodha cleaned the table and took the dirty utensils inside. Rukaiya was observing this which gave her immense peace and she thought "What if I troubled her more???" and she went inside the kitchen. Jodha was so immersed in her work that she didn't notice that What Rukaiya was up to. She came in, took the plates which were washed and dropped them and broke. Jodha got frightened with the voice of broken plates she turned and saw Rukaiya was smiling evilly. She started her Drama.

RUKAIYA: - How dare you break these plates????? (Jodha got afraid of that statement she said)

JODHA: - I didn't do.

RUKAIYA: - Then what I did???? (She knew the answer but no one will believe her. Soon everybody came there. Maham and Jalal both were angry on Jodha. Maham knew that it was Rukaiya's plan but kept silence to continue the show. She yelled)

MAHAM: - You stupid woman. Do you even know how costly these are???? (And slapped her so hard that she fell on floor. Jalal said)

JALAL: - Leave it Badi Ammi, some people can resist costly product. So when they see it, it tempts them and in that eagerness to touch that she must have dropped it. (And went away from there. Jodha was shocked not because of the slap but because of Jalal's words. He thought that she is a gold digger. They both smiled and went away from there. She kept her palm on her cheeks and cried again.)
