Don't give it a thought! In fact, that you disagree with me about something makes for a stimulating change!😉
Now as for the chemistry between Smiley's Ruqaiya and Jalal. To me, it is there because as a jodi, they function as a smooth, well-oiled pair. Jalal is of course carrying 80% of the load, but this Ruqaiya does carry the balance 20%. Which Ruqaiya II failed signally to do. So there was zero chemistry between them, though Rajat's Jalal was as good as he was earlier.
As I wrote in the post, and again to Sandhya above, Smiley's Ruqaiya has no looks to speak of, a voice like a corncrake, and a dialogue delivery as flat as a pancake. I did not associate this with Smiley Suri being a Punjabi, but I noted it nonetheless. Nor can she make her eyes do whatever she wants, which is one of Rajat's strong points. In fact, in conventional terms, she is not a very good actress, plus she is pitted against the likes of Rajat and Ashwini.
Despite all these not inconsiderable failings, and in her simple clothes with no chamak-dhamak, to my mind, Smiley's Ruqaiya still looks every inch the queen. It is there in her body language,in her self-assurance, and the effortless ability to dominate her surroundings. You would have that unlike the screechy, most times fishwife-like Ruqaiya II, this one never raises her voice with the baandis. That is a real lady for you.
With Jalal, she does not let go of her childhood advantage of being the younger of the two, and she treats him accordingly, scolding him without any hesitation. But there is also the quick retreat to affectionate wifeliness : Nahin, hum sambhal lenge! when Jalal wants to pull off the soiled chadar. And again, though I am over-reaching myself, the quick and unaffected counter-apology for having not allowed Maham to speak to Jalal that night.
There is thus both an easy affection and camaraderie between them, but there is also an easy sensuality. It is there mostly in Rajat's eyes, but at least Smiley puts her head on his shoulder as if she belonged there, without striving to keep at least 2 feet between them like you know who!😉
Shall look out for your next set of comments.

Refreshed after having watched a truly Rajatalicious episode today, I am ready to do battle, and unfortunately this time against you.
There is an uncontestable chemistry between Rajat and Smiley, but that is about it. I am not able to decide if this chemistry is because Rajat is so spectacular, in other words is it a two way thing, or are we blinded by Rajat's brilliance. A notable feature of a good actor is, that you cannot tell their local dialect. Look at Rajat and Ashwini, look how they are able to master dialogue delivery to such an extant. Not so with Smiley, straightaway I am able to tell that this girl is Punjabi. That Punjabiyat seeps through in every word she utters. It is too obvious and thus too irritating.Another thing, a good actor sinks into the character that, he/she is playing, so much so that you would not know, where Rajat ends and Akbar starts. Not so with Smiley, I can tell she is acting, she makes a valiant effort but unfortunately not good enough.Want proof, look closely at that scene where she goes to Maham after the court debacle. The conversation was fine, but with the same issues mentioned above, but that is not the unsettling thing. Look at the way she looks back as she walks away, it is too stiff and amateurish, as if she knows she is acting and that knowledge is transmitting to the audience.I will come back later with more observations on your post, which of course is as stimulating to read as always, please bear with me.
