**** chapter 6 ****
Bharmal calls panditji to fix the best muhurat for engagement and shaadi,preist comes and places himself comfortably on chair,he takes his panchang and started counting dates on his fingers and finally utters with a wide smile" Bharmal ji best muhurat for engagement is after two days and for marriage exactly after two weeks ,there r no muhurats after this date, he exclaimed polietly.
Bharmal was little worried now ,how will they complete all the preparations in such short span of time ,this was the thing bothering him and as if jalal read his mind ,he slowly comes near bharmal and place his hand on his shoulder
Jalla- uncle don't worry everything will be done on time and besides there is one more thing I wanted to discuss, ca N we keep the wedding simple, with family members and close relatives ,we have to think about jodha too right,he asks in a pleading tone and everyone agrees with his decision. Jalal was relieved with their consent " jitne kam log utni kam baatein" I don't want any unnecessary drama in this marriage" he thinks remembering jodha's bua and other people like her.. Everyone who came for marriage left by now and jalal's family too decided to take leave and departs to their house.
## Khan residence ##
Jalal was getting restless, sleep was nowhere found in his eyes, he was really worried for jodha ,so much happened in one day, morning she was going to marry Surya and by evening her fate took a drastic turn and fixed her alliance with jalal . he wanted to talk to Jodha once and takes his mobile out to call her.
Jodha picks the call but before she could say anything she heard jalal's voice.
Jalal- hey gabbar, how r u, hope u r not missing me much right? , he huckles.
The minute before jodha was all gloomy and weeping on her fate, but as soon as she saw jalal's no flashing on the screen a soft smile adores her face, the minute before she was dejected and feeling lonely , but how could she forgot her best friend and soon to be husband jalal ,who can do anything to make her happy, he was the reason for her smile, he was the one who can bring out the best and the worst from her.she wipes the h er tears and replies clearing her throat.
Jodha - why will I miss u jalal, abhi abhi toh gaye ho, she rolls her eyes and chuckles imagining his reaction.
Jalal- kya gabbar dil tod diya tumne , keh deti u were missing me,I would have felt so happy na ,he pouted .
Leave it , tell me what r u doing ??
Jodha- jalal I'm alright, don't worry about me ,how can I be sad when I have a friend like u besides me.thank u so much jalal for supporting me and being with me.she exclaimed in a soft voice.
Jalal- omg so u finally learned how to say thank u haan?it seems u have changed a lot in these three years ,I guess I really have to work hard to get my old gabbar back ,he says in a dramatic way.
Jodha- u r such a dramebaaz jalal ,now go and sleep ,aren't u tired of long journey?? Don't worry about me jalal ,I am fine ,she assured him with a soft smile.
Jalal knew it will take some time for her to come out of her misery but he was confident on himself that he will get back his old friend. He hungs the phone while Jo was still unsure of her decision.
## Engagement ceremomy ##
Engagement was decided to be in Singh mansion and marriage in Khan mansion.Happiness was seen again in bharmal's eyes ,he was really on ninth cloud, house was decorated again but this time in a simple but elegant way. They were waiting for jalal's family and finally they reached the doorstep , maina welcomes them and offers drinks and sharbat, it was time for ring ceremony , sukanya brings her sister down and makes her stand besides jalal, .
Jalal looks at Jo, and learns she was getting nervous,her hands were trembling in nervousness, jalal comes near her ear and whispers " gabbar tum ho ,main nahi ,jo itna darr rahi ho. U trust me HAINA ?? He gives a boyish smile. Suddenly all her fears vanish in air and she felt relaxed after all she was not getting married to any stranger, she was marrying the man she known all her life.
Maina and hamida bring their respective rings . maina handed the ring to jo and she made him wear the ring feeling little uncomfortable, now hamida gives the ring to jalal and he slips the ring into jodha's finger with a wide smike
Hamida came forward and hugged jodha kissing her forehead and they takes blessing from everyone.
Engament was over smoothly and now only two weeks were left for marriage .hamida took all responsibilities of marriage on her head, and why not it was her one and only laadla beta's marriage, she went for shopping and picked up everything by herself, from bridal dressess to ornaments she picked up keenly. She made sure bridal attire was simple ,not heavy as jalal asked her so. Khan mansion was decorated lavishly , the outer garden area was set up as per Hindu tradition and hall according to Muslim.soon it was the day of wedding. Jodhas family arrives on time ,they enter the mansion with their relatives .Hamida welcomed them by serving drinks ,she allotted a room for jodha where she can Get herself ready, sukanya took her to the room while hamida and maina went to see the arrangements.jodha and sukanya enters the room ,sukanya jumps in glee looking at the bridal attire which was placed on the dressing table,dii this is so beautiful haina, she asks jodha in excitement, getting only a small nod in yess she understood her sister's dilema.
Sukanya- dii i understand what ur feeing now ,I know its really tough for u to accept jalal as ur husband ,but u know dii I always wanted to see u two together,many times I heard the same thing from mama and papa too , but u guys choosed ur own path in ur life, but dii whatever happened in last few weeks ,I can only think of one thing, Surya and u were never meant for each other, it was jalal who was decided for u by destiny. Dii I'm really happy for u now, and I'm sure jalal will prove to be the best husband for u, dii ur getting another chance,happiness wants to enter in ur life again ,welcome it with open arms dii, ur getting a life partner in ur friend, give him a chance dii ,I know jalal ,oops jalal jiju, she places her hand on her mouth, i should practise calling him jiju from now ,warna mumma ne sun liya toh ,god knows mera kya hoga ,she laughs sheepishly.
Jodha looks at her little sister with amusement.
Sukanya- dii don't look like that, I know I'm talking like daadiamma, but thats the truth, I love u dii ,ur the best and deserves the best.she hugged jodha tightly and kiss her cheek. Accha now let me help u in getting ready.
Jodha dressed into her bridal attire with little makeup, maina and hamida enters the room and admires her with a big smile. They brought her down and brings her to the mandap. Jalal was already sitting there ,priest started chanting mantras ,they exchange garlands and they sit besides each other, jalal notices her and she was again nervous.
Jalal- Allah I really wonder whether every girl behaves in the same like jodha or she is an exception, he rolls his eyes. Jalal sqeezed her hands with a reassuring smile , everything will be fine Jo trust me and she gives a faint smile. Bharmal Mainavati perform the kanyadaan rasam while preist chanted mantras, they stood up for magalpheras around the fire, they take saath pheras with each round they took a vow and promise to abide by them throughout their lives. They sit back on their places , jalal takes vermillion and filled her parting followed by tying mangalsuthra around her neck.Bharmal exhaled a deep sigh in relief as wedding was over without hitch. The couple got up and took blessings from everyone.
Now it was time for nikaah ,jajo came down the mandap .jalal found his shoes missing.
Jalal- ammijaan have u seen my jutis? Hamida- no jalal ,she tries to search them but stops hearing sukanya's voice.
Sukku - jutis r with me jiju, and I will give them back only after getting my nek , nek do joote lo, she smiles.
Jalal- no, pehle joote phir nek ,and who knows if they r really with u or not, he shrugged his shoulder.
Sukku- u don't beleive me right? Wait I will get it ,she goes at gets jutis.see I told u ,she says proudly with head up.
Jalal- controlling his laughter ,placing a mischievous grin , r they really my jootis ,doesn't seen like the one I wore , ur lying sukanya ,he comes closer to her as if judging the shoes, and snatches them from her hand in a gif.jalal wore them before sukanya could realise what actually happened.
This is cheating jiju, im not talking to u, she pouted.
Hamida- jalal beta ,give her nek,its her right u know na.
Jalal- ji ammijaan ,I was just teasing her, wanted to know ,if she is my old shy chuhiya or attained my feisty wife's qualities, u know many things changed during the gap, he looks at Jo and winks at her getting a glare from her.everyone laughs embarrassing the new bride.
Jalal gifts sukanya a diamond studded gold ring, she feels happy and gives him a side hug .
Now everyone proceeded towards the hall, maulvi saahab was waiting for them,hamida makes jajo sit separately ,they were parted with a cloth, maulvi saahab recites prayers from Quran,he asks Jo ,if she agrees to marry jalal khan ,only son of humanyun Khan and hamida bano.,he questions her thrice and jodha agrees with a nod, maulvi saahab repeats the same with jalal ,jalal khan do u agree to marry jodha, elder daughter of bharmal singh and mainavati, jalal says qabool hai. They signed the nikaahnaama . maulvi saahab now declares them as husband and wife .the couple takes the blessings from their elders.
Hamida and humanyun- welcome to our family jodha beta, may allah bless u with all happiness in ur life. They place their hands on jodha and jalal's head.
Bharmal - maina- bharmal takes jodha's hands and gives in to jalal's hand , take care of my daughter jalal.
Jalal- don't worry uncle ,she is my responsibility now, I will take care of her and will always keep her happy, I promise.he assured him
Jodha's heart felt warm hearing those words from jalal,she was happy becoz he brought smile on her father's face ,her father was smiling again from heart.:-) :-) .
