Chapter 19

Jodha : u don't have to feel sorry Jalal, well it did offend me but then i am least bothered about what people like Julia think about me...achcha i forgot to tell u i saw Neil...

Jalal : Neil? When? Where?

Jodha : just 5 minutes before...when u were flirting with that Julia...i think he saw me but didn't behave as if he saw me...

Jalal : how is that possible? Neil knows that i am in New York..if he is here he would have definitely informed me...u must have seen someone else

Jodha : no Jal... (Jalal's phone rings)

On the phone

Jalal : hey Neil how are u? And yaar where are u?

Neil: Hey jalal i have been trying to call u since yesterday night but i think there is some issue with ur phone

Jalal : No yaar...it is working perfectly...but tell me why were u calling me and where are u?

Neil : haan yaar woh batane ke liye hi toh call kar raha tha...i am in New York...

Jalal: oh but bhai what are u doing in New York..even when i told u that i ll be leaving for new York u didn't say anything abt this plan..why?

Neil: arrey i thought of giving u a surprise..by the way where r u..send me ur hotel's address na..i ll come and meet u guys..

Jalal: yeah i will..but then where r u?Coz jodha(jodha suddenly keeps her palm on his mouth to stop saying anything..thru expression she asked him not to say that she saw him)

Neil: What jodha? I..I..I am at the...airport..the plane landed a while ago..thought of checking in the same hotel where u r staying so called u..and how is Jodha? And how was ur deal?

Jalal: oh..Jodha is busy shopping..and the deal has been signed though there were certain difficulties but..

Neil: (shocked) the deal has been finalised but how?(tries to speak in a normal tone) i i mean the way u were stressing abt it i thought it would be difficult but..congratz..so party toh banti hai..

Jalal: haan yaar will give u a party..do one thing today we r having a party with company owners and associates as a welcome and celebration of having signed a contract with them..so join us..even u r a part of the company..

Neil: no Jalal..i need to meet someone so i cant attend the party today u enjoy..i ll see u later..(cuts the call)

Jalal: hel..oh man he cut the call..

Jodha: what happened ? where is he?

Jalal: offo..what happened to u? He is in new York that is true but he just landed..he is in the airport..whats the matter with u?

Jodha: (confused but thought of keeping mum) nothing..(looks at the packet in jalal's hand) what are u holding?

Jalal: nothing..so for today's party i want u to try this out..i think it will suite u well..

IN THE HOTEL ROOM

Jalal: just try this out na?(passes the packet)

Jodha was all excited..she opens the cover nd is confused..

JOdha : what should i do with this? Don't tell me u want me to wear this..thats not happening..how did u even think that i am gonna wear this...

Jalal: hey whats the matter its just a saree..i would want u to dress and look like an Indian beauty..

Jodha: i cant..i don't knw how to drape a saree..i have never won a saree..i have only worn lehenga..i am pretty sure i wont be comfortable in that..leave comfort i don't think i can even walk wearing a saree..no jalal please don't force me..

Jalal: offo...its just that? its ok browse on net or watch any video..thats what i did when i was asked to wear a dhoti..even u ll find some videos on draping a saree as well..check na..

Jo: but jalal why are u being so adamant..i

Jalal starts browsing and gives the laptop to Jo. She watches the video while he went for a shower. As Jalal comes out he is shocked at the view in front of him. Jo is on the floor collecting the whole pallu of the saree and is fiddling with the rest of the pile. She is stuck in between the whole mess. She was murmuring something which Jalal was trying to hear.. as soon as she takes a step she trips and was abt to fall when Jalal caught her. But luck was not with them today, as both of them fell together coz of the wetness of Jalal's feet and the lack of grip. Jalal was below Jo who was busy staring at him..after a sec she came back to the situation and saw the position in which they were..she was really concerned whether his head had hit the floor? Is it paining? Is he all ok?

JO- (in the same position) are u alright? Did ur head hit on the floor? (annoyed)How many times should i tell u be careful when u r out of ur bath..but no who am i to give advice to the Jalaludin Muhammad..right? {Jalal was just staring at his beautiful concerned wife..} now what are u looking at me answer{Jalal puts his palm on her mouth and asks her to shut}

Jalal: kitna bolti hai..can we get out of this mess now?{Jo somehow gets up and sits on the bed and help him get up..} Jo-(continues her bhashan) are u a kid..i have been saying this to u for the past 1 month..dry yourself before coming out of the bathroom..this is the 2^nd time that i have seen u fall..at times u can hear and follow your wife..its not an offence to listen to what your wife says but no..you are the master of your own...i ll do whatever i feel like doing(imitates him)...right?

Jalal was just looking at his wife..the care, the concern with which she was asking and scolding him..he found it cute..the very fact that though she fell upon him but her hand did hit to the leg of the wooden coat and it must have hurt her a lot but...she wasn't bothered abt her pain but was more concerned for him..it suddenly reminded him the word his parents and uncle spoke abt 'having someone in life who cares for him more than anyone else' came to his mind..he thought his parents were so very right when they said this to him and maybe Jo is the right soulmate for him..Jo noticed that he was just staring at her..which made her a bit awkward as, he entered the room when she was trying out the saree and the already wrongly draped saree exposed a lot after the fall..this awkwardness was noticed by him..

Jalal: achcha baba i am sorry i wont repeat it..but leave that how r u? Show me ur hand?(then he notices that she was restricting her movement coz the saree was draped really bad..) ok let it be..i ll help u out..just tell me how to drape it?

Jo-(shocked) what? No its ok i ll figure it out. And it is all coz of u.. i would have worn something else instead of this...

Jalal: ok now stop complaining about it coz you don't have any other option left with you..now come closer and let me help you in draping..and we don't have too much of time for all this..

She explains him how a saree is draped and what went wrong when she was draping it...jalal listens to her very carefully and helps her out in plating the saree properly and he pins every possible place and secures it so that the saree wont come all open..all this while Jodha was in between looking at him..but Jalal was just busy in helping her out with the saree...
