Perhaps, it will be Ruqs who will see all this and tell Jalal, as she does not want Jodha to convert.

Seeing the precap again I felt noone has seen them , but Jodha is having a look at the palce hoping for some miracle to happen and the convertion stops. But I am sure the convertion wont happen. Monday's episode will be a deciding episode about where tracks will proceed in upcoming days

Aady,
That was a beautiful piece of writing. You have analyzed the viewpoints of the principal actors very nicely.

@ Abhay thanks so much for your concise daily updates. I decide whether to watch an episode based on your post. I watched the first four episodes this week as I felt that finally they have moved away from the "family drama/ salim against parents" nonsense and focused on the real political issues. I skipped fridays episode based on the WU as it had me really depressed. It reminded me of why I only watch this serial in bits and pieces and refuse to get emotionally attached anymore.

@ Radhika your analysis took my breath away. You are a wonderful and powerful writer. Your analysis was really based on how it should be vs how it really was depicted though. I agree with Donjas that your analysis was frankly far superior to the actual events of the episode. Charu and Aadyaa and all the others have said some wonderful points so I wont repeat the issues.

I do feel that you have been too kind to Jodha in this write up. I want to start off with a Disclaimer: I am not criticizing real Jodha /MUZ who I adore, nor am I criticizing Paridhi who is doing a great job. I am flaying the weak , very weak characterization of REEL JODHA who is now MEH.

While Charu was upset about the depiction of MM ( i agree with her fully), I feel very let down by the actions of Jodha. You have described her angst and her devotion to Kanha very well , BUT she needed to rise above all that and on friday she failed miserably when she agreed to convert despite promising her husband that she would'nt and whats worse hiding it from him. I disagree that it was difficult for her to refuse MM as she was her Mother in Law...That may have been in the early stages of her marriage. After 20 some yrs of marriage, MM was her mother more than her MIL and Jodha has always considered her inlaws as her own family. So I do believe that just as Jalal was firm with MM, she too should have firmly reminded hamida of her duties to the kingdom as well as the implications of her conversion on the future hindu wives of the Sultanate as well as the awaam.
Jodha is not the victim here! I say this because she has the unstinted support of the most powerful man in the kingdom: her husband, the Emperor who has stood by her like a rock. Moreover she is MEH, the second most powerful person in the land. She just cannot afford to think like a mother of Salim alone, she has to think like the Empress. As they say " To whom much is given, much is expected". Jalal had just handed her the running of the entire Sultanate when he goes to war because he was confident she could take tough decisions. She let him down badly when she capitulated in front of MM. If she goes ahead with the conversion she will have undermined all that her secular husband stood for as well demeaned his authority in front of the Shah of Iran. This is not the Jodha I signed up to see.

I hope Jalal or Salim don't rush to stop her. She needs to stand tall and make this decision on her own and then go to that Nafarmaan son of hers and inculcate some strenght of charachter in him instead of constantly weeping, pleading and bending over backwards to please him. Enough's enough!!

Such a wonderful discussion in this thread. Reminds me of the old days.

My view on the situation. As an amateur student of psychology, I find the pressure that Jodha faces almost overwhelming. The blackmail by your mother in law, whom you regarded as more of a mother all these years is bad enough. Then you add all the arguments for preventing war, like saving thousands of lives and preventing a relationship with a powerful neighboring kingdom from disintegrating. The situation becomes worse for you.

All this Jodha could have withstood. But in addition her wretched son expects her to prove her love for him by converting. And we all know to what extent a mother can go to get her child's love. She resisted earlier but now?

All the above simultaneously would have been too much for almost any person to bear. At that moment with the fragmented emotional state you are in, you forget the unstinted support your Emperor husband has always given you. You are also in no position to ponder how your conversion will tear to shreds all the principles of religious pluralism that your husband has stood for all his life.

Well said Donjas..Though deep inside I am disheartened with this decision of Jodha, that's why I am fully not finding her at fault. I am somewhere in the middle.

Jalal asked Jodha , if Man Bhai faced the same situation would Jodha support manbhai or advise her to convert her religion. Jodha's response immediately was that she will stand by Man Bhai only. She is being selfless when it comes to her. Because of her if something good happens then she is willing to compromise. This is is how I am thinking and trying to convince myself. I believe most of us are like this only. We try our best to help others and when helping, if we have to compromise we do because, if some one benefits from our little sacrifice so be it.

That said, how I am hoping that on Monday, Jodha would think of Jala's words and tell HB that she needs to re think or let him know.😕
