You're most welcome @J2lover. :))
These words coming from members mean a lot.
I simply write what i read and understand, and share.

Coming to the show, either i am eternal optimist or i am getting delusional, as i still see a chance of JA being revived after ending SA. I have watched till now, and plan to watch at least 1-2 weeks more, for i think this is closure of SA and after that the fortunes may be revived. :)

Both your examples are right.

I am hoping to see a proper closure to this Salim /Jalal/Jodha drama that has now become unbearable.

Along with the director, I wish EK had replaced the Writers and other Creative team members too.

Thank you. :)

But Charu, however much me wish that the CV's get changed, I feel that we are going to be stuck with Manish only for quite a while. 😕

And in a new interview Ravi Bhatia has said that the serial will at least run for another 2 years with him, I hope after SA they have no plans of Salim-Nur. Just hope they concentrate on AKdha and Akbar's Political reforms and MUZ trade duties. :)

Now in these two years, as you said if get to see the numerous reforms of Akbar and MEH's achievements, well and good. I pray that EK's mind also thinks on the same lines as ours. I would also like to see Jalal realizing Rukaiyya's malicious intentions, and distancing her from the mahal itself.

If Salim is a changed personality in the next two years, then its fine by me, however if he is going to continue showing symptoms of personality disorder arising from depression, then not only me, majority of the audiences will not wish to watch the show. We have seen enough of that unbearable melodrama. There appears to be no solution for this problematic 'walihaad''s never ending emotional upheaval.

I also wish to see more of Birbal/Akbar interaction, Maan Singh and Todar Mal's prominence in the Mughal court and the contributions of each of the 'Navratnas' to be highlighted. There is plenty of authentic historical stuff that EK can show in combination with acceptable NR, if she focuses and sets her mind to do so.

Well written Charu. 👏👏

Exactly. The thing with Historicals is that you already have a rough story ready, because you have to recreate events that have already taken place. After reading the posts on the blog, sometimes I feel there is no need of NR at all, because Akbars life had enough and more drama in it. This unnecessary drama they are adding works better in Saas Bahu serials, not in such history related shows.

Now the leap has been taken so there is no undoing it, so they have to show things the audiences want to watch. The major problem is Sanar actually, no one has a problem if the CV's show a healthy relationship between Salim and his parents.

There is so much to show. They introduced the Navratans one by one and in the end we get to see like 4 of them that too in small scenes. They should really make the show feel more authentic, so when viewers watch it they get a good feel. Historical shows are very dicey, because people who watch only the show think that what the show says actually happened, and this puts wrong thoughts about great leaders in many peoples heads. So its best they keep the NR as low as possible and show us tracks that revolve around some reforms with positivity instead of all this negativity.

If they really want to increase TRP's, one promo of Rukaiiya getting punished or Anarkali getting walled, their TRP's will sky rocket for sure. 😆

I wrote a post in morning from mobile and lost it :((

Writing again.

This is an ode / an elegy to a relationship that died on Friday - that of Jodha-Salim. May it at least RIP. 😕

Ode to the Jodha-Salim Relationship That Finally Breathed Its Last on Friday -

May God give peace to its soul

This relationship had always been stunted like a Bonsai plant and never allowed to reach its full stature by the grace of that cupola of chastity - Ruqaiyya Sultan Begum.

Ever since Salim was born to Jodha, after many prayers and a lot of heartache, I watched and hoped to see a beautiful bond such as can exist only between a mother and a much-awaited son. Alas, that day never came even once in all these months and now it can never come as the relationship is dead and buried.

For a very brief while in the beginning, we saw Jodha playing with a 5-year old Salim who was all heart like his mother and for whom his mother was his entire universe. Her choice was his choice. Now all that seems like a dream. 😕
Very soon, the son was snatched from his mother, turned into an addict, sent away, and always kept in fear of his father and his punishment. He was never allowed to have a normal relationship with his parents and his heart was filled with unbelievable hatred and a paranoid suspicion of his father's actions / intentions. He became (or may soon become) schizophrenic.

The son may have reasons to have become the way he is due to shortcomings in his parenting. I do sympathize with him. But still to see him insulting his parents publicly, branding their marriage as illegitimate and accusing them of plotting against him is unbearable, episode after episode.

Still, the saving grace was that at least till recently Salim was controlling himself a bit in front of his mother and was not in favor of her conversion.

On Friday, even this last vestige of respect was shred to pieces when Salim accused his mother of thwarting his succession by not converting to Islam.

A man who was as religiously tolerant as his father and for whom his mother was a person to be venerated with sajda is being shown to have no respect either for her or for her right to practise her faith is simply disgusting.

For him, it is merely sufficient to become the next king - his mother's core identity and the ripple effect of her conversion on the non-muslim awaam holds no meaning. His father's authority and vision for his empire never held any meaning for him anyway.

I wholly understand Salim's angst and his confused state of being due to his troubled past. But to totally negate his parents's identity, their principles, their responsibility towards the empire just to satiate his ambition is SHOCKING and UNACCEPTABLE.

If I were in Jodha's place, I could bear anything. The rudeness, the tantrums, the stubbornness to listen to reason. I could still show forbearance and patience. But there is a core identity that defines a person and no one, not even a child, has the right to question that identity or ask me to change it to satisfy his whims. No one, not even a child, or especially a child, has the right to question the sanctity of my marriage or his birth.

I would still maintain a relationship with my child as much as possible. But for me, such a relationship would be as good as dead. It would be merely a formal relationship, just because I had given birth to the child. But it would not have any emotional meaning or soul.

The Panchtantra says:--

Of sons unborn, dead or fools,
Unborn or dead will do.
They cause a little grief, no doubt;
But fools a long life through.

Why beget a son
Who proves a dunce and disobedient?

I really do not have the heart to write about the rest of the episode, Abhay. Something snapped inside me yesterday after that scene.

And really what else is there to write about? Jodha crying and pleading with husband and son, neither of whom is willing to listen to her or bend a little - is just too much to bear. She started out well enough by questioning her husband but ended up whimpering in his arms. Why, Jodha, why? She could not bring herself to knock some sense into her son, while he was talking most inappropriately. Why Jodha, why?

I hate to see Jodha suffering and bearing the brunt of 2 fools in her life. The sad part is that I know and you know, just how intelligent and dignified these people were.

I don't simply want SA to end. I want JA to end and asap. I don't want to see a JA where Jodha is always suffering and Jalal is always making a mess of things in the name of siyasat.

Please CVs, bring down the curtains now on this show.

What an amazing post. Exactly I felt the same while watching and hated Slim even more now. ctaully this Salim is more suited to be Ruks son rather than Jodh's. He is not at all fit to be called Jodhas and Akbar's son. Though I can understand his confusion, but still his selfishness is not accetable. He hadrl uses his brains while talking. How can he become the next emperor? Rukiy has successfulyy moulded him into good for nothing...

Yes and a wailing Jo who has no replies to her sons accusations .. who just keeps shedding tears is also not bearable.. CVS have actually spoil t JA because of the leap. and this stupid SA story.. Now they are trying to balance JA-and SA simultaneously..Its going to be a disaster in making. Anyways.. I must say these days CVS did try to give good episodes.. but again by showing negativity , they are just no doing any justice to any of the main leads. Nor Akbar, nor Jodha , nor Salim

Abhay,
Thanks for the reply. I am not worried about Akbar's legacy. He has had a great run of 400 years of prominence. Stalwart figures in Indian history like Swami Vivekandanda, C Rajagopalachari, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Rabindra Nath Tagore and more idolized him. The last words the British Governer General Lord Mountbatten said in India was the appeal to Pakistani leaders to follow Akbar's example.

So, now if Akbar has a few lean years, so be it. Let him rest in peace. The Indian mentality of pluralism and toleration that great kings like Ashoka espoused makes it certain that Akbar will once again come to the center stage.

So, enough about Akbar, it is the serial which is depressing. What the hell is Ekta trying to do? What was the purpose of the leap? Is Salim the second lead or the new villain? If he is the villain, then why show him as a hero in the war with Mirza? Even if he is a villain why is Salim shown so bad? Can't Ekta see that if a person falls too much he cannot be resurrected, viewers remember.

Has Ekta learned no lessons from the ratings debacle? Viewers don't care about the other characters of the Mughal family, it is Jodha Akbar they want. Then why are being force fed this new saga of brothers squabbling? Who in his right mind wants to watch this, especially if the actors portraying it are very ordinary. Can't Ekta see this, does she not realize that you cannot make donkeys into race horses. The guy placing Murad is OK, so is Anarkali, but the rest don't have the regal screen presence or the acting chops to portray their characters plausibly.

Also what the hell is happening with historical timeline or is there any relevance to historical events. The strategy being shown in the serial against Persia was never followed, the name Iran did not even exist then, it came about only after the Islamic Revolution. And now Mirza Hakim is an ally? Am I going crazy? And what about Ruqaiya? All sweet and charming in the previous track and now, abruptly a devil incarnate. What a switch in personality.

And where is all this leading to. I really don't know.

[/QUOTE

Very true Donjas and Abhay.. We only wanted to see JA nd not SA.. nd wat to say about Rukaiya ,it seems CVS want to show whenever she is outside Agra she is redeemed into a good soul and whenever she enter Agra she is possessed by an evil spirit... !! Thats what they want to show I guess...

Abhay, i can;t stop, own Laughing, reading this😆 😆

So Hotch +Potch, world goes to⭐️ ⭐️😆 😆, Smiling stars.

Murad Ambition clearly showed two times, First in DEK, second talking with Salima.

Power kaa Nasha Aane Laga hee Murad koo.

Ruk Kutil smiles, Shows, Some person, go to extreem down to others.Own benifit.

Why realtionship suddenely changed for Brothers., Salim not brought up by jodha, Many reasons CV showed,;;;;;;;Why Murad, He brought up by Salima, so why he is suddenely changed to Much.It means Growing kids, not listens everytime, parents talks. or advices.if Salim is Rude, Murad also showed rudeness.

is Daniyal is doing for all this MB? or he is also changed.?

Is salim deserve that type punishment.?Jalal should listen Salim point of veiw.

Akbar took very broad decesion, in life but paid cost too much,His Own children, going very differnt jone.

Salim is saying, Jodha if she loves him, ;;;;;;she accepts relgion, changing, before these things happening. It means Salim this will apply to MB.

it means;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;Salim not knows, his father +mother, too much invested for this,;;;;;;;;;cause of this, Akbar capable to Rule Heart of Hindustan.

or if Salim wants to be King, he should also focus this side.Agree he is not fully
grown up,;;;;;;;;but he should see things other side also.

communication Gap, how changed things,

Message, If Ruk today concoled Salim & Shows Right Path, History comes different, but self centering, or Jealous,;;;;;;;;;extreem, How changed things whole.Agree Jalal should talk to Salim first,;;

But is Everyperson duty is not to fulfill his or her duties.

But Ruk type person gives message, We shouled be aware, choosing friends & realtions. & try to well wishers in Life, ;;;;;;;;;;;;But it not happens.😊

it Means when Akbar was Ruling, some people were creating problems outside,
cause of his linetness of relgion point, others were thinking, cause of this
their importance can be go to down. lets see how this track folds.

But seeing today Murad if becomes King, His mind also not developed.so both are needed to learning values More & more.

Sahi kaha ..Murad is also developing a hunger for power.. He feels he is also suited to be next Emperor and when he sees Salim always in Rangshala with Kaneez and having no time for important matters.. what else can he think... useless brother like Salim can become Shehenshah, then why not him???? Sochne ki baat hai naa?

Sorry Ayushi.. could not replt to your pms. I was out of India for two weeks.. so though used to read your posts reply karne ko time nahi mila ...sorry again dear.. but wonderful post by you.. very true..

Dear Abhay,
Thanks for all the updates. I was oout of India but kept watching JA .. But again they increased Salim-Anarkali scenes ..what to say.. I just hate watching these two..pathtic.. the way Salim is portrayed ,you can just hate him for being good for nothing..useless ... really ..Murad thinking that he can be a better Shenshah than Salim ..is not wrong.. if you see this useless Salim always in rangshala with a Kaneez having no time for important matters.. ..what else can Murad think.. ... I keep wondering sometimes..that do they keep changing the CVS ... now and then...???

Sometimes we get very good scenes, very good episodes and next moment again they are back to square... why had they to mix SA with this important track.. ..show more of Akbar trying to solve this isue intelligently.. instead h ere they are showing more of melodrama.. more rona dhona.. nonsnese.. Your thread bout Masterstroke was so good Abhay.. If only they had shown this... but I dont feel so now... that they totally on a different track.. I feel very disappointed.. Anyways i ALWAYS ENJOY READING YOUR AMAZING POSTS and Radhikas posts are also very good indeed. Hats off to you for bringing this forum to life again...
