PART 1
It is October, 1554...jalal just turned 12, his war training is almost completed. On prince's 12 birthday, humayu decided to crowned him as wali ahed e saltanat to start his training as politician and leader of nation along with a capable warrior.
For the coronation, there are almost all the governors and generals along with rajas of aliened states presented in Dehli, which serves as mughal capital in emperor humayu reign. Humayu also invited all states who ever supported and helped since The time of his father shahnsha babr till now.
King of amer raja bharmal also presented here with his elder son kunwar bhagwan daas... Bharmal's father , maharaj prithvi raj supported babar and even lost his life in battle field while fighting for humayu's father and humayu didn't forget that.
The chief minister of mughal empire ...khan e khanan bairam khan arranged a friendly competitions of different war fair sports to test the limit and strength of the next emperor of Mughal empire.
Today is the last day of these friendly matches
In almost the compititions jalal won
In teen andazi, kunwar bhagwan daas was runner-up
In talwar bazi shareefu din hussain was runner up and
In khanjar zani also bhagwas daas was runner ...
There are many other muqable in which most of them jalal won like, horse riding, swimming etc
Now this is the last match , wrestling competition helding btw jalal and adham khan
From the high stage, in the gallery of stadium humayu watched his son wrestle. People around the stadium along with Jalal's group of companions were cheering and yelling excitedly as their young master was locked in furious battle of wills with another boy.
The prince companion were in his ear shot near the boundary of wrestling ground
"Shehzade jaldi"
azeez koka , the milk brother of prince cried , and the prince spurred on and muscles straining, doubled his efforts to throw his opponent to the floor,an excited cry coming from his throat.
jalal was fully grown into his body yet, his limbs some time gagly like that of a young colt and his face still round and sweet. But he was fine youth and king could easily see the man his son would soon become.
He smiled, full of pride for the boy's strength, his health and lively spirit.
Yet his pride was hampered, because at the same time this glowing health and over-bounding energy often frightened him. Jalal had been rambunctious even as a small child and now that he had grown into a vigorous, able-bodied teen he loved nothing better than to test his strength with others, clamouring for the manly glory of winning at the joust and all the other various sports young men took part in.
"Sahibe alam, uthaa ke patkh dejiye ise !"
another boy named abdul yelled again and prince gave an almighty cry and almost threw the other boy to the floor. At the last moment he caught his footing and brought some distance between them, then they immediately threw themselves at each other again and the other boy was grappling for purchase around Jalal's waist, trying to push him off balance, the same determined look to win on his face as the prince.
"Yah Maham anga ka beta hae na?" ,
king asked,
"Ji ha jaha panha, yah Adham khan hae,"
bairam khan replied,
"Shahzade kae kareebe sathiyo mae sae adham bhi Ek hae "
Bairam didn't show his disliking towards boy in his reply to king.
Raja bharmal also watching the match interestingly. His eldest son bhagwan daas got defeated by mughal crown prince in semi final round of this wrestling match, although bhagwan daas managed to qualify for final rounds in many compititions but it was always the mughal crown prince in almost every round for every contest who won the top most positition.
Now bharmal and young bhagwan daas both were watching this last final match very interestingly ...
The two boys, who are fighting were about the same strength, the muscles in their slim young bodies straining with effort, but neither boy gave the other even an inch to gain, fighting with everything they had as only teen-aged boys could.
Still, neither of them gained any ground for some time,
raja bharmal mind drifted from the fight,
He was thinking about his eldest and favorite daughter rajkumari heer kunwar. her pet name is jodha... Because jodha means happiness and , heer kunwar brought happiness and success in his life... Actually jodha brings happiness where ever she goes... just a mere thought of her, brings smile on her proud father's face
" kia soch rahe hain babu sa... "
Bhagwan daas asked surprisingly, seeing his father smiling in btw tooth and nail fight
"Who kuch khaas nahi... Ham jodha kay baarey mae soch rahe thae... Rajkumari ka kafila aaj phohachne wala hoga sheher kay bahir"
Ji babu sa..woh shher kay bahir parrao daley gae ... ham..."
" SHAHZDE JALDI... ADHAM KHAN TUMHARI TAU KHER NAHI AAJ "
Bhagwan daas interrupted by sudden cheering and yelling.
Now Both father son again paying attention to the competition .
Humayu was also drifted to his thoughts . Many children his wifes had bore him, he thought, and now he was old and he had only two sons left and 4, 5 daughters. His eldest girl, bakhshi bano had been gone and married these past 2 years, and the youngest son mirza hakim just 5 years old.
But this boy, jalal u din mohammad, his eldest son, was his to keep to his all hopes.
Shahzada jalal u din wanted to joust and hunt as the other boys his age do, as the king himself had done at that age. He could not bear any less for his heir, he also wants his son to participate in such dangerous sports. Wali aehed Shahzada Jalal u din was too important for this kingdom, he should be strong, brave, humble and smart, intellegent and what not?.. . He was too precious to him and this empire. That's why he arranged his marriage with his favorite niece and his son's best mate , shahzadi ruqayya sultan ... It gives him immense happiness when he sees them happy with each other,
King smiled on this thought of fixing date of their marriage.
As now jalal moved in men royal quarters, soon after he turned 12. so he is not allowed to play and chat with ruqayya as often he used to do.
Jalal greatly chafed at the restrictions he put on him though and there were ever more argument between his mother and him over it, which make royal family rejoice even more.
He saw his niece shahaadi ruqayya sultan sitting with his queens watching the match with full concentration ...she was just 11, so, little but so wise, confident yet humble and intelligent , befits to be future queen , king smiled fondly to her
A few months ago he had presented his son and daughter in law with a pair of fine stallions on eid.
But, He regretted the present now, he should wait for their wedding as for Jalal he always ready to use the horse but ruqaya were used to go on ride mostly with jalal only. Since then jalal not ceased to beg for permission to ride with rukayya on their new prize. So he is thinking to fix their wedding soon.
"Shahzada jalal zinda baad , shahzadda jalal zinda baad!"
He was distracted from his thoughts by a sudden yelling and cheering erupting amongst the boys down in the hall. The prince's youthful eagerness to win finally had prevailed and he looked just in time to see Jalal gain the upper hand over his opponent and force Adham khan to the floor in a smooth, rather genius wrestling move.
For a short, stunned moment he lay on top of his foster brother, breathing heavily, sweat running down his bare back. Then the other boy stopped struggling, realizing his defeat and Jalal rose, victorious, throwing his arms in the air, shouting out his victory and glowing with glee.
The other boys ran up to him grinning and clapping him on the back cheering loudly..
Emperor, his queens , other nobels and guest and forget not, Prince's consort shahzadi rukayya sultan, all were rejoicing with their prince in his happiness and success.
