I think the writer herself is biased seeing this show as Hindu vs Muslim...I agree that all EK's heroes are cruel and almost all of them all Hindus...All her heroines are epitome of goodness and they all are hindus and all the EK's negative characters are glorified..again they are all hindus...So Why pick up this serial only? and I do not believe in this charge against EK...

The story revolves around muslim household and so the characters are muslim..As far as Ruk is concerned , who knows how she might have been? Indu Sudarshan depicts Ruk in similar light and we should put this charge on her too...

Now Salim has to turn grey too and he is half hindu...

I feel this article has come to lighten up the negativity in the show. They know what they are showing is morally wrong .An 8 year old child being drugged .So they BT might have released this article themselves to erase from ppl's mind what they are showing?

and I do not think that EK monitors the shows personally ..Many of the writers of hers are muslims too.Would not they protest and try to change the things?

As far as Jalal is concerned the show has been nothing but kind to him..They have justified his Chittor war and even shown him asking maafi from a Rajwanshi wife( as if only her husband/family was killed ).They have shown him removing but Jizyah not reimposing it...How the show has hurt muslim's image , I fail to understand it..

Ela , mainly the show is about Jalal and jodha and since Jalal is Mughal so all his family members too are Mughals. And all the people who revolted against Jalal like Shariff,Aadham ,Mahamanga ,Mahachuchak ,Mirza Hakim were all from his family. This was the real history too .
And Jodha's family had always supported him.The only Rajwanshi who was against Jalal was MP but that angle has also been covered by the show.
Even I don't understand how come the religion issue comes here?

Rashmi I feel they are trying to divert our attention from morally and ethically wrong things shown in the show to religious issues...All EK's shows are basically negative and this show is no exception...and I find Jalal much better placed as a hero compared to her other shows...nd look at Jo..How she has been reduced to being a weakling!!!...She has no hold on her life and on her son...I wont talk abt her husband as he is a community husband...belonging to all and I will be accused of partiality.

"It does not mandatorily take a woman to instill compassion into him!"
Hope more daily soaps take this seriously. ...I have seen quite a lot of EKs shows...and woman reforming the man is the mainstay of her shows...its the TRP sutra for most PHs 😉

Shreya this is what I had said in a very old post of mine while contesting EK's tagline and her premise of a love story - and this is what I have been contesting about when it comes to the 'Epic Love Story' part of this show - this concept of a woman changing a man to be compassionate and that too acertain kind of a woman and that too only by being a certain 'type' - what utter rubbish is that !!!

Very well said ela. Although I agree with the article about putting a female protagonist on pedestal at the cost of the male lead, I don't think the show is biased on religion. The people who revolted against Akbar are shown as evil, them happening to be Mughal is coincidental...Akbar loyalists are shown in good light and these include Mughals too. Apart from majnufication Akbar has been shown in a very positive light, even issues like chittor war gave been shrouded under garb of personal tragedy, other topics which have hampered his positive image have been skipped.

Charu I agree that JA could not have run as a woman show...Jallu should have been the centre character since the begining...I have no problems abt more screen space to Jallu in driving seat and Jo in passenger seat...

But is Jallu really a driver of this serial? The Jallu they are showing is even more weak then majnu Jallu...He cant really dispense justice correctly...and that is why the serial is sinking so fast...

The most distressing feature of every Balaji serial is being so grossly patriarchal as they tend to be, not only are the women marginalized, but men become the worst victims of misrepresentation and stereotyping too.

When will the Balaji Czarina realize that all men are not born rude, cruel and sadists and it does not mandatorily take a woman to instill compassion into him!

@ bold not only balaji most of the serials are like this only and heros mom's poor souls they are also womens na wht they are doing! Our jalu too came into this catogery 😭

@bold : EK's heroines have to conform to the type you have mentioned in bold - and the remaining women who don't conform to this type tend to be the vamps...aisa real life mein hota to zyaadatar log vamps hote😉...surprising that it comes from EK's PH...because she doesn't seem to belong to the mahaan heroine mould that she brings on screen
