Jodha Akbar: Ruqaiya Sultan Begum vs Jodha Begum

Even though Ekta Kapoor has removed her name from the historic biopic Jodha Akbar, her effect in the show still doesn't seem to go. Well, just saying, because today's episode of February 28^th looked more of a saas-bahu serial than a historical drama. And then it just got doubled when Ruqaiya Sultan Begum turned into the usual vamp of any other saas-bahu serial

Ruqaiya Sultan Begum the name itself evokes power, authority and control. However, she now seems to be insecure of her position since the harem's women all of a sudden are supporting Jodha Begum. The weirdest thing was the way Ruqaiya treats Salima Begum forgetting all her manners and customs -From "aap" to "tum" and from "Salima Begum" to Salima. Well, while watching her harsh language, I was reminded of the cheap cat fights in the Mumbai locals where women fight everyday losing all the modesty and manners that they usually portray outside.

Jodha however appears as calm as ever and confirms with Moti that she is doing all this just because she cannot see injustice in front of her eyes. This makes me think that - Jodha Begum in the serial never forgets to talk about her Rajvanshi sanskaar then why is the Rajput community behind the show so badly?

Well, if anybody who should really protest is the group that supports Ruqaiya Begum Sultan and not the Hindu community. I mean, what are they up to - Can a Mughal Begum who was a granddaughter of the first Mughal Emperor, Niece to the second and wife of the third Mughal Emperor ever behave in such a rowdy manner?

This is something very biased as far as the poor Ruqaiya Sultan Begum is considered. Going by the records, she was strong and not insecure unlike shown here...

Rukayya kya yaha akabr ka sathyanaas bohat hi bhayanak tha ...

But akbar and his queen rukayya... Lived so respected and honored life...till the last breath of their life ... This show is just just a worst form of NR on stake of the real royal couple just for daily soap formula ...FL is always right ...every other character can mold according to need of track to make FL always right and pure poor soul ...

Did this article real say "Hindu" community!!! - Hindu community is much larger than rajputs . And if the issue is with making a Mughal protagonist a vamp then they should also look at depiction of Hamida and Salima and other women who have been shown to be angels roaming in Agra.

And why shouldn't rajputs object to the show when their princess has been reduced to a dumb doormat with no spine or common sense! Ruk may be a vamp nut at least she is shown to be royal, and with an IQ greater than Akbar himself!

so what if hamida and salima are shown like angels

that does not give makers the right to malign real rukkaiya sultan

even if jalal and jodha r shown dumbest still maximum damage is done to rukaiya's character by showing her in such a negative light without proof

What proof is present of MA being so evil that she would kill a child, or MCB being a cougar who relushes human blood. Just because Aadham and Sharif revolted against Akbar, doesn't mean they were evil lusters and wife beaters!

And Salim who till now has been shown to be soo rahem dil( and will continue his goody nature) brutally murdered two sons of khane khana Rahim at khooni darwaaza post sucession.

The Akbar who is shown to apologize to people of chittore, actually hung dead bodies from the fort post victory, called rajputs Kafirs and had statue of jaimal made like a gatekeeper.

Fir all the laments about insulting Akbar and his clan, both the movie and the show have presented these in a very good light. So instead of lamenting on nainsaafi to ruk, atlesat the show has made folks aware if her very existence...

Agreed...not like she needed it...Fatehpur Sikri and Amer palace had anyway ensured her claim to fame...just like being the birth mother of Salim, the future emperor. And given Rajput community still exist and so does their history...I guess one could still fund traces of HK, especially given she was as much a symbol of Amer mughal treaty as Maan singh...who ofcouse needs no introduction in Rsjasthan and those aware of mughal history. one would have to visit a grave in Kabul to find shreds of existence of rukkaiya.
