Maybe Ruku is behind this.She must be hiding and hit the boy to put Salim in trouble .She knows Jo will go for justice even if it is her son and now Ruku will come as a savior for Salim and gain his confidence.

Salim is kid n that too he is shown scared of jalal so obviously he wil hide truth but he shud hv said to jo atleast... He dimt try to kill that kid...
