Thanks Abhay for the update! Precise and complete. 😊
Here's my take.

Yesterday's episode was a continuation of the aftermath of Hasan's demise.

Jodha, who has become lifeless and responds only to Jalal now, momentarily came out of her reverie yesterday. The plaintive wails of Hussein tugged at the mother in her and she rushed to nurse him and briefly came alive again. Was she looking for Hasan in Hussein or did she respond to Hussein as her own flesh and blood? I don't know the answer.

But she was reluctant to let go of Hussein and Ruqaiyya almost snatched him back from her. The pain in her eyes, as she realized that she had no right to Hussein and had lost him even before she had lost Hasan was unbearable to watch.

Ruqaiyya, on the other hand, was as restless as a cat on a hot tin roof, all the while Hussein was happily nestled in Jodha's arms. She kept asking for him back and ultimately pulled him away from Jodha.

Ruqaiyya failed to be a sensitive woman at that moment. Motherhood makes a woman gentler, more selfless. But there does not seem to be any such change in Ruqaiyya. How could she fail to notice Jodha's condition? Did she not feel a twinge of remorse or guilt for having taken away Jodha's child even when Jodha lost Hasan?

How happy Jodha would have been if Ruqaiyya had allowed her to put Hussein to sleep and stay with him for sometime! Didn't she see how generous Jodha is in her spirit that even after losing Hasan, she hasn't asked for Hussein back?

Why couldn't Ruqaiyya match Jodha's magnanimity in sharing her child? Just as Jodha had once filled her arms with a bundle of joy, couldn't Ruqaiyya have done so too with Jodha?

It was to Jodha's credit that even in her present condition when she couldn't think clearly, she remained graceful in that scene and accepted her situation calmly. She may have stopped praying to Kanha but, deep within her, she was beginning to accept that loss and also that she could not ever ask for Hussein to fill the void in her heart.

Someone once mentioned that Jodha would lose her mental equilibrium after Hasan's death. Then too I had felt that Jodha is stronger and such a state would never pass, esp when Jalal was also supporting her.

I am so glad to see Jodha now - ever dignified and mature, like a queen ought to be. She carries her grief within her, allowing it to show up only in Jalal's presence. In all her lamentations so far, never has she once questioned her decision to give away Hussein to Ruq.

What greater proof can there be of her generosity of spirit and her love for all beings? I do not regard her as one who has been struck down by Fate. She walks tall, daring Fate to do its worst.

It may also be possible that Jodha is conscious of Jalal's position as an emperor. Even in her present fuzzy state, she may be aware that her asking for Hussein would deal a blow to Jalal's reputation for always honoring his word. And Jodha, then and now, is more concerned about safeguarding her husband's image than her own happiness.

It really takes a lot of courage for a woman to sacrifice her maternal instincts at the altar of her husband's honor.

Jalal finally broke down in his mother's presence and let out his grief and self-rage / self-loathing for being unable to save his son, in spite of being the master of his own destiny.

It was wonderful to see Hamida comfort him in his hour of need. She also signaled to him a solution to bringing Jodha out of her trauma. Jalal understood what his mother was hinting at and, to his credit, he lost not a moment to keep his own sense of pride and honor aside and beg Ruqaiyya to lend Hussein to Jodha till she recovered sufficiently.

It's always a wonder to see these two souls, always thinking of the other's pain and happiness first, willing to sacrifice anything for the other's sake.

The Jalal-Ruqaiyya scene was preceded by the visit of 2 begums to Ruaiyya's boudoir. They instigated the already insecure Ruq that she should be careful lest Hussein be taken from her and given back to Jodha.

So when Jalal came to beg for Hussein to be given to him for Jodha's sake, she was already mentally prepared to refuse.

She was already being feted by the other begums as the next MUZ and she had no intentions to let go of this golden opportunity Fate had thrown in her lap.

Did she not care even for Jalal, her best friend?

Well, if she did, would she have used the DEK to force his hand into giving one of the twins to her? Would she have asked for a farman - wasn't his word of honor enough for her?

So how can we expect her to be kinder and more understanding of him and his compulsions this time?

Jalal knew he had reached a dead end with her and would have to try some other method to pull Jodha back from the brink and make her embrace life.

At last, dadisa and Bharmal came to visit Jodha and meet her twins.A long overdue visit.

Dadisa was shocked by the turn of events and likely remembered the dark night when the twins were born and Shaguni Bai had prophecied that Maham's curse would be effective and the twins would die.

The precap perhaps results from her feeling that Hussein would be safer (from the curse) in Amer than Agra. She reaches out for Hussein but RUq flinches away. Ruq is so scared of Hussein being taken away from her and thereby losing the right to be MUZ.

What happens then? Watch tonight's episode to find more.

I am irked by the absence of important characters like Mainavati and Bhagwandas. Why can't new actors be found if the older ones left? How can the story proceed further without such characters who are integral to the plot?

Radhika,

Nice Post..I agree with you...And trying to elaborate your points... :))
I am using some contents of an Old Post of mine today, here, i think 99% members must not have read this one..

Lets try to see the Change in Ruqayya Begum, and analyze how she will do in future. I view her in two phases - Pre JJ marriage and Post JJ marriage. She DID NOT change overnight but took some time. I would attribute these changes in her NOT ONLY due to the "INSECURITY", BUT ALSO due to the reason that she Ceased to "EvOLvE". If Beagle was instrumental in leading to the Darwinism, then here Ruqayya's inability to tackle the "evolution" in Jalal OR to Evolve herself, is the mirror view of why she is - what she is at present, i mean 'insecure.?. or unassertive.?.'.!!.

She is at times uncertain and lacks confidence in discovering and feeling her own value(.?.!.?.!.), and one or more of her capabilities, lacks trust in herself and NOW even in Jalal .!!. Because , since starting ALL she cared was her BEK Auhda, the power, and Jalal ALWAYS assured her that her Auhda would remain INTACT...In her 10 years of marriage, didn't she understand the meaning of THE WORD of Jalal.?. Her insecurity is nothing BUT a difference in her level of awareness, regarding Jalal.(though she says she understands HIM, and she is his Bachpan ki Dost.!!.)

Deep in her heart of hearts (if she has one.?.), she knows that "truth" about Jalal(that his DIL is functional and beats for Jodha) but she refuses to acknowledge it as she fears that the present 'gala' time will last for a few days only. And when she faces reality, then will feel let down and cause them agony, by going the wrong way in the future,(For Sure.!.) as this is a normal personality attribute, and this only differs in magnitude from person to person depending on the LEVEL of insecurity and the degree upto which they can manipulate their fears from overtaking their inner conscience, and here Ruqayya seems very weak.

Jalal has changed a lot but the same SHOULD also have occured with Ruqayya also. But, as she remains in her OWN world of "Bachpan Ki Dosti" , this clause has categorically DEPLETED Ruqayya, and disallowed her to develop her relation with Jalal. Her diffidence, her fears, her anxiety, have taken a toll on many of her personal qualities which she HAD EARLIER, and now have disappeared. The regal-neSS in her SEEMS LOST. One can analyze this by keeping many dimensions in our mind. I won't quote any single event.

Many would say that her vulnerability / instabilty / fragility / insecurity, has it's roots in her bachpan years, as she lost everything in her childhood..., though i differ here, 'Coz she has BEEN Jalal's WIFE and a Queen for the last 11 years, and hence was EXPECTED to shrug off any such rickety-ness, because all these years Jalal was present with her...She said she RULED the Harem all these years, then where is the insecurity.. She wanted to be BEK, and Jalal gave her that title...She wanted to be Khaas and she remained so...

I would say, the yardstick one sets should not be to feel secure, but to be able to overcome insecurity(if it is PRESENT) or atleast EvolvE. And, the one who fails, for them Darwin has given the answer -> Survival of the Fittest, Rest are Eliminated..!!

@RED underlined..

Very nice point..Is she so fragile that she can be instigated.?. No. She was already nursing that ambition in her inner conscience...I can NOT forget the act where she took away Hussain from Jodha to put her in the cradle.

Though she still has TIME which is FAST running OUT, more or less like Bolt passing through the finish line on the sprints, in the Jamaican ''Heats''. She can change, and if NOT change, adjust herself, and can put a hold on her ever increasing shaky feelings and thereby that "FEAR" can be overcome. Yes, it always gonna take time, and she NeedS a good deal of patience and a slow realization that her own worth is purely a matter of her OWN interpretation, NOT ANY AUHDA or POWER..She was Jalal's BEST FRIEND before the Title of MUZ...Isn't it.?.." .

It is true(in her case) that "her" insecurity follows NOT due to her own acts "BUT" from concerns relating to "others" , because Everything, she wants is in comparison to Jodha. She took away the child NOT for fulfilling her ambition to LIVE motherhood, BUT >>

1. To separate Jodha from that Kid,
2. Become MUZ...

Hence, her dialogues yesterday were totally over my head, and i was in NO MOOD to sympathize with her, because (as per promo, which NOW seems true) she is NOT GOING TO GIVE the Kid , ONLY BECAUSE SHE WANTS THE AUHDA of MUZ...!!!!!.. I am totally disconnected from Ruqayya..!!

I can not understand her, as she NEVER ever understood motherhood..
Had she understood it, she would not have asked for the Kid at the first place, FOR HER trying to become MUZ..!!!... SHe FAILS to understand that SHE CAN NOT get EVERY thing she wants..!!. She can not become MUZ but adopted this ROUTE to GET THE POWER Equivalent to that of MUZ through this Kid..!!!..

PS - Pardon me for this boring writeup... ;p

Thanks for that wonderful post Radhika and Abhay.
You both have beautifully brought out everything and made us relive the episode.
After getting over the initial shock of the demise of Hasan ,I'm feeling better now and loved the last two episodes as in all that pain their love shone out and even ruq couldn't fade it out for me.
Loved yesterday's as it brought forth all the finer emotions that make us human and displayed how love could fill our soul and give us strength to move forward despite the hardest of situations life throws us in.
I loved the scene between Jalal and hb as it show what all love is about a mother who wants to absorb all the pain of a son and show him a way forward and a husband who wants to put all his pain aside and give strength to his wife
But the best one for me is that tilak scene as for me it looked like a reminder of saptapadi vow they made to each other .Whatever life throw us in the commitment we made to each other is forever and we always would cherish and hold each other and thereby bringing a purpose to our life and the following scenes were so beautiful as he stood as an anchor to support her when she has to meet her family. For me now their love has taken a divine level and they had become a complete entity .
We also witnessed how our soul could be tainted when its fed with greed, obsession
And make us completely heartless and lose the humanity in us
I was not surprised with ruq as for me she is always like that she is heartless and never can understand the finer emotion since she completely lacks the ability. But what shocked me is those other begums.Till now i thought they were always mistreated by ruq and felt for them. But to see this yesterday,Don't they have an ounce of compassion in them? Does your husbands child not yours too Instead of grieving here they are plotting to get more power and what wrong had Jo done to them till date?
It clearly shows how obssession on power can completely taint your soul and make u loose your humanity even.
So I loved yesterdays as it brought forth both and served as a reminder of how to live and how not.

P.s.
Mainavati in the episode when she come to ask Jalal not to send Jo told that mother in laws will never visit son in laws house and since this situation is so exceptional I broke it all and came here.May be that could be the reason for her absence and barmal and daisa alone came.I'm not sure but I thought so.

Nice post Abhay on ruk. Well i can never sympthaise to ruk and what she has insecurity. Lots of people always said that she is doing all this in her insecurity and even overlooked her all wrong deed which i am not understanding it. If jalal ever said that he will snatch power or audha from ruk. He always consider him as best friend and give respect her as first wife and chief queen then where is insecurity. It is ruk selfish nature she wants power and audha for herself.
