About the rest of the Episode you^^ have written very nicely , i want to write something on the Precap. I know i am stirring up a hornet's nest, by what i have written here. LOL

But, i want to put forward my views as i think, as i can do it safely here, no doubt i am going to get bombarded. ;p

Ruqayya was Blaming Jodha for the death of Hasan, which is an act i deplore. Her VOLUME(screech) was not at all bearable. And, no doubt, it was enough to raise the temper of Jalal, as she went non stop. He was about to give it back to Ruqayya, but stopped.

He stopped as Ruqayya developed cough OR fainted(.?.) .
Now here, what can be said.?.

Did Jalal do the right thing here, by stopping himself, OR he should have gone ahead and manhandled her.?.

Note that, i am in NO MOOD to support Ruqayya and neither i sympathize with her NOW.
I made a "stern" post in this regard earlier, on this thread for her.>.
Link

But, at this moment i am discussing Jalal and i agree with what Jalal did. ;p I do not think he should have slapped his wife..He was angry but he stopped seeing her state(faint/cough).
(
Now, this can be her Naatak or a result of Zeenat giving her some sedative drugs, but this is NOT known to Jalal. )

I(and many) condemned Jalal's action when he pushed/shoved/pinned Jodha against the wall, and many of US had thought that 29 March(?) Promo to be a dream, as NONE of us HAD imagined that it would happen in reality..!!

Right now, many of us are extremely miffed with Ruqayya(i am also one of them), hence wanted her to get this "treatment" , but if we think from Jalal's POV then i still feel, he was right. It is we, the viewers who know that Ruqs has taken the Kid for fulfilling her MUZ's title obsession, but Jalal does NOT know this.

In front of Jalal, Ruqs has always PRETENDED that , She is a good mother and she took the kid to LIVE her Dream of Motherhood, though her FIRST THOUGHT was MUZ's title. Remember, when she came to take Hussain from Jodha, what was her Self-Talk.?.😳

I have one thing to say, all this pent up anger and follies will come out at a specified time and then there won't be any escape for her. What say.?. Do i make sense.?. All this is being deliberately made too much extreme that the end will be equally bombastic..

Please separate the anger on Ruqayya and then read this post. I think Jalal was right in stopping himself that moment. I have one thing to say, though, about tomorrow, that the CV's "award" us such scenes which are enough to raise the BP.. LOL

All views are welcome.
;p

beautifully written Abhay. I agree with you that at that point jalal needed to take care of Ruks. Ruks denied Hussiens Grandparents a chance to hold him and Jalal kept quiet here. This frustrated me. There is a limit to bear Ruks tantrums..

Hi Radhika,

Thanks for that post and a coincidence that after cooling down enough from that emotionally draining episode even I thought the same.

Leaving aside all the prejudice and our obvious hate and if we look at the episode from a purely psychological aspect then this episode doesn't look bad at all especially with those exceptional actors who splendidly brings out every minute nuances .

For me todays episode was again in line with the last two episodes where in the last we see the denial, hurt, pain manifested both out of love and obsession today's was of fear and guilt and this is what I want to touch upon here.

Guilt:

All through the DEK scene jalal exhibited this guilt beautifully .He couldn't look into anyone's eyes as with all the pain he carries a guilt too that he has to now say these grieve stricken grandparents that they have not only lost one grandchildren but two as he very well knew ruq is never going to accept to this proposition and in his mind he is already blaming himself for the Farman given and somewhere failed as a father.

How contrasting it was to see the same guilt derived out of obsession from ruq . Somewhere in the corner of her mind she carries a guilt that she has been overboard at DEK and so she comes and try to show everything is normal by ordering a lavish bath and so often when our conscience try to warn us we just put it off by trying to justify our actions and that's what I think the precap is about .when is he running out of explanations she now wants to hold jo as responsible for her own plight and thereby absolving her from the guilt that she is having jo's baby unethically.

when guilt is derived from a positive emotion like love we try to blame ourselves like jalal did ,but when the same comes from a negative trait like obsession we try to put the blame on others and thereby sooth our own conscience. The former makes as more human whereas the later just kills the humanity in us.

Fear

Ruq in her obsession for MUZ has created such an attachment with the object of her purpose hussain which comes along with a deep fear that the child could never truly be hers and its always will be jo's .WE saw that fear beautifully brought forth .The moment zeenat said "in amer the child will be only considered as jo's " her deep root fear shows it claws and sadly leads to her own self destruction that she chose to believe who she shouldn't and question who really loves her. This again shows how obsession can blind oneself and destroys you completely.

Then there was a touching display of a mothers fear for her child which was splendidly displayed by pari. Losing a child is the hardest thing one has to face and it leaves in you a permanent scar .My mother lost my eldest brother in infancy and she till exhibits that fear whenever anyone of us get sick. I still remember those days when she would just sit along my bedside rubbing my feet when I'm sick and so I could very well connect with what jo exhibited today a mothers fear that at least her other child should be safe.

The maha mangas curse though gave a feel of watching a haunted palace ,I could very well connect to the fear of her as in trying times our mind always try to reason out why this happened to us so that we can heal and go forward .In Hinduism that is given to us in form of our karmic deeds which give us strength to cope up and proceed further in our life.

So again today was a contrasting display of what can make and break us.

all in all today was again a day that belongs completely to rajat and pari for bringing out all the finer nuances in their expressions.

P.S.

This again could very well just be the manifestation of my mind which is desperately trying to hold on to some positive so that I could continue watching this serial without much questioning. So if it doesn't make any sense to you please do consider this just as random ramblings.

Abhay , I will not get miffed at your thoughts . You are absolutely right .

As irritated as I am with Rukaiyya , I know that Jalal did the right thing by not hitting her. I will also be honest in telling you that I have been tempted several times to pull her out of the tv screen and spank her for her screaming and unacceptable behavior . Actually today when she refused to let dadisa anywhere near Hussein, I was fuming . Believe me , I am a very calm person . My kids will vouch for that . I have never spanked them 😉

Humor apart , hitting her would have been inappropriate.Just by releasing anger on a person for their mistakes by using physical force , is not going to rectify the mistakes they have made . It only invokes more anger in the person that has erred and makes them doubly rebellious . Jalal's anger towards Rukaiyya has been simmering ever since she asked Jodha for one twin. Her selfish reaction to his request yesterday when she refused to give Hussein to Jodha for solace, followed by her disgusting act towards dadisa and Raja Bharmal culminated with her accusing Jodha of negligence in handling baby Hassan . In a fit of anger he raised his hand but stopped short when she started coughing/gagging .Would he have slapped her had she not coughed ?

Now I am wondering how he will react on finding out her 'real' intentions behind asking Jodha for a baby . Jodha is most precious to him . Will it be okay for him to physically assault Rukaiya in a fit of indescribable rage for misusing Jodha's goodness and his trust. We all have seen him in his elements when he is angry .There is no stopping him . Rukaiyya's selfish blunder is no ordinary one. How do you think he will react on learning about her 'asliyat' ?

Whatever she did, Rukaiya did knowingly , planning out every step in detail keeping Jodha's weakness in mind .Even though she is childish and immature, I do not believe that positive reinforcement of any kind will work on her . What would be the best form of punishment for her ?

I have been contemplating writing a detailed analysis on Rukaiya's personality and psyche . I stop short thinking of all the gaalis I will receive ,after people read it . People should not misinterpret my analysis as sympathy for her . Rukaiyya is the way she is due to deep rooted insecurity caused by (a) having lost her place in Jalal's heart (b) due to lack of proper communication between Jalal and her where Jalal should have assured her of her importance and value in his life, thereby reducing her insecurity and jealousy (c) being unable to conceive biologically . Jodha has achieved all of the above . Hence her resentment towards Jodha and wanting to usurp what Jodha has.

The Creatives have made her character exceedingly villainous , made the audience detest her immensely , to such an extent , that many including me are ready to do what Jalal stopped short of doing today .

Abhay,

I agree Jalal did right thing by stopping himself from slapping ruk...but but but I really did not like all the Agra ppl did not utter a word when Dadisa was insulted by Ruk and I see no justification here.

For putting someone into place you don't need to manhandle a person or not even shout just stern words are enough...my opinion

Nice Post Charu..

Initially Jalal did tell Ruks about how he considers Jodha as his good friend too. That time too Ruks was very tensed and Jalal tried to calm her. According to Ruks Power is everything and nothing else matters. This of course starts with insecurity, loving your self more than anything. Even if Jalal spoke to her, assured her of where she stands, she would still remain the same. Her priorities are different. Relation ship is successful when efforts are taken from both sides. In case of Ruks, she cannot change, everyone around her needs to adjust.

Priya,

My apologies first. I wasn't able to respond to your earlier posts though I read them and was deeply moved by them.

Coming to present post. Coincidence or what?! I just edited my update on last night's episode (see above your post) and changed the title to Ruqaiyya's Obsession with Hussein.

Your post is EXCELLENT!!! Really! You have brought out the feelings of Jalal, Jodha and Ruqaiyya so beautifully, and explained Jalal's predicament in the DEK and Ruqaiyya's defensive behavior in the precap with great insight.

I observed Jalal's extreme discomfort in the DEK when he was unable to tell Dadisa that Hussein was no longer Jodha and his child and that they had given him away to Ruqaiyya and that they could no longer decide his fate without Ruqaiyya's consent. He just couldn't explain to them that Ruqaiyya had forcibly taken away Hussein from them and he had been unable to stop her, in spite of being the emperor. It must have been so humiliating for him be openly snubbed by Ruqaiyya in front of one and all. What image would Raja Bharmal carry of Jalal, a man who couldn't control his wife's behavior in public?

Unfortunately I missed detailing this out in my writeup. But you have done a splendid job now. 👏

Thanks so much!!!

The way you have explained Ruqaiyya's behavior in the precap as resulting from guilt at having snatched Hussein and keeping him away from Jodha unethically is awesome. Totally agree with lines in bold. 👏

All in all, absolutely fantastic post, Priya! ⭐️ It details every nuance and sentiment in the episode in the most factual and crystal clear manner. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! 😊

Yes, Jodha the mother has had a premonition about Hussein . Both Paridhi and Rajat were awesome today.Rajat as the emotionally defeated Shehenshah and Pari as the restless, anxious mother desperately trying to control the scary thoughts of something bad going to happen to her other child plaguing her mind .We also had an overdose of Rukaiya, she gets on my nerves but I will patiently put up with her , in order to cheerfully witness her ultimate downfall . Also I'm a tad disappointed with Jalal for not completing the act of slapping her .
Did you notice his anger when Rukaiyya accused Jodha of neglecting Hassan ? The best is yet to come when he rips her apart 😉 hopefully next week.

You are right . What happened to Sujamal , Mainavati, and Jodha's brothers ? I think its Ruks's time to rule the roost . The Amer family has been temporarily forgotten .

Charu .

Charu,

Do keeping watching this track. It is an emotional roller coaster and it will wrench your heart like anything, but you would not like to miss it for anything. Every possible human emotion and tendency is present and it's a learning experience to see how people behave in tough times, what drives them and how they cope with the consequences of their actions.

Don't worry - Ruq will be punished. But before that, she has to get really BAD! So be prepared for that. The leads are doing an exceptional job in this track and so are the CVs. 😊

Abhay,

You know my views about this - I would NEVER support Jalal hitting Jodha, Ruqaiyya or any other woman.

Temptation may be there but it has to be overcome. That is a sign of maturity. I feel we all agree Jalal has grown a lot since he manhandled Jodha in the Sujamal track.

Jalal would have stopped short even if Ruq hadn't choked. Reason being his awareness that he was responsible for much of what Ruq is today. He kept indulging her whims and fancies, overlooking her misdemeanors and tolerating her despicable behavior towards Jodha. She has therefore become desensitized to others' pain / suffering and lost the link to her conscience that would have told her right from wrong.

Charu, I fully agree with what you have written about Ruqaiyya. Physical punishment will not work for her. Then what would be befitting punishment for her when her reality comes out in the open? Jalal may choose ostracization. She may be excluded from social contact with anyone and forced to live in isolation so that she may learn the value of social relationships.

Pls do write your analysis of Ruqaiyya's psyche. I would love to read it and share my views. You can see Abhay's and my (old) views here on this subject: 😊

PS: Why did Ruq choke? She was so emotionally wrought that she started coughing / choking and was unable to speak. Happens when we are extremely angry or emotional about something and screaming our lungs out. 😊 No need for any drugs or forced Natak here 😛

You convey the most most complex ideas simply and honestly Sindhu .

Completely agree with you . Rukaiyya is self-obsessed. If there is one person that can calm her down it is Jalal . What Rukaiya thought was love for Jalal is actually possessiveness . Possessive not about him as a person but for the power he had as a shehenshah . Until Jodha came into the picture she took their relationship for granted . She got her first jolt when Jalal fell in love with Jodha , she saw her visibility diminishing , the second jolt came when Jodha became pregnant . She feared losing the tile of MUZ to her and look what a pathetic situation she has created for herself .
