Really, the CVs have crossed the limits today. Did Akbar have no brains of his own?
Actually, Akbar had abolished Jiyaza to win over the Hindus in 1562-63 and once he established himself completely reinstated the tax in 1575. He was such a strategist! And to show him as a Thanjavur Thalayatti Bommai...😡 (The famous head-nodding doll of Tanjore)
And Birbal's 'strategy'... it is as silly as ever...one child will be Hindu and the other Muslim is ridiculous. Both are Akbar's children and will belong only to his religion. This is the 16th century for God's sake and this is Royalty! Even in the 21stntury if any British royal prince were to wed a non-Christian wife, the child will belong to the father's religion.
And the bechare bache...nobody gives them a d**n. It is as though they are never born, and Jodha is back to her NGOing and bhaashaning and Ruqaiyya to her staring and screaming. Poor kids. Jodha's expressions were OTT. Did the queens really fight like dogs over political issues and Akbar decided and made laws to suit their fancies?😡
The real Akbar must be rolling in his grave like a crazy yo yo.
Why don't the CVs leave the queens out of political issues or if they have to have their part why not make them handle it gracefully?

sandhya, what a pathetic episode!..the less said the better!

I loved the episode even though having both begums fight over it was a bit immature but i was happy that akbar did not Immedietly agree with jodha. They are not showing him as a puppet if that was the case then he would have Immedietly agreed to abolish it but he did talk to all the relevant people but in his heart of heart he did know and accept that despite its economic disadvantages as said by todarmal n shareefudin , abolishing the tax was the right thing to do as he did not want to treat his people with discrimination. Also the fact that so many people were ready to accept Islam as a last resort and out of compulsion was not right and acceptable to his god then how could he as a followers of his religion allow something that was unacceptable to his own god. I think the tarazu scene did portray his dilemma of knowing whats right and still not finding it easy to do so. As for his remembering of jodha's words i think he was remembering them as she was right that as a queen she was more obligated to follow the rules as a role model and hence pay the tax.
As for the part where he says she can never lose, well the romantic in me felt that scene n dialogue made my day and can tide me over the next two weeks of torture of jodha by ruqqaiya. And remember guys even though he says he can't bear the thought of jodha's defeat he still did not agree to abolish the tax. More arguments needed to be put in front of him to justify it.

realism, maturity, and sensibility! In JA ! That's just too much to expect, in absence if these a little research would have helped- read somewhere jaziya was not applicable on old, women and children, so the dharna from Jo and the drama in DEK today are absolutely incorrect.

Its not applicable for women , children but what about about their Hindu husbands. Shanti was trying to commit suicide because her husband was in Jail. Jodha was paying tax for her also right. I am not an expert here but I Believe we should wait and see how its unfolded today. I do agree in rushing the epsiodes, they have not shown in detail.

you are right that would be expecting too much!..by abolishing jazya akbar abolished discrimination in regards to any religion so that his subjects feel that they belong to the same family and that was a very important step indeed but the way it has been presented shabbily and made it as a tussle between two begums is just not acceptable!

Sindhu, Jo was paying for Shanti is OK , but not for herself.
There's nothing left to wait and watch, Rukku clearly said Jo need not pay coz she's a begum .
Jalal clearly said it will make him look bad if his wife paid tax.
Precap clearly suggested Jo paying on behalf of her kids .

All these pointers are against ,which law exempted

Here no one is against Jo... ..it is clear CVs didn't do any sortof research before digging in Jiziya issue.. . .pathetic CVs 😡
