Some people say that the serial no longer holds any interest for them and they would welcome a leap, fine, but even now the average TRP is only 20% less than what it was getting at it's peaks. A top 3 position maintained after months of trashy tracks speaks volumes of how strong the base audience is.

My feeling is this audience base will disintegrate if there is a significant leap. Anarkali is too weak a character to hold interest for long, and besides viewers have invested in Jodha Akbar, any new story with new characters will face a backlash.

The best solution even now is more romance between Jodha and Akbar, to build on viewer base and then to hold them with good drama.

Since it is an 8 PM show, not too hot a romance, give something like what was shown in old 60's or 70's hindi movies. Surely that can be managed, provided they atleast try it once.

It is very difficult to get a high ratings show, with a good international following(which somewhat balances the need of revenue from domestic sources). Now to put all that at risk by taking a leap, makes little business sense.

But as you said, it depends on the ratings. The ratings right now are satisfactory.

donjas very well said! i too agree that this is a game of trps and what the audience want..ekat cannot get away from sbs as that is the main trp puller and also she will keep history in mind and as you said that she cashed fron ashutosh's JA she will definitely cash from asif's MEA..and as per record all her shows that run for a long time have leaps so how can this show escape from it but i doubt if she will abruptly introduce it..she will slowly, keeping the trps in mind, slip into it!

salim anarkali will happen as leap is happening but its just the matter of time! and as for jo whenever i think of real Hk neither pari nor aish come into my mind in fact Akbar khan's jodha comes into my mind as she had given an unexplained aura to jodha's character and i found her characterization more close to the real HK..so she comes into my mind whenever i think of jodha!

I have also seen Mughal-e-azam but the story is not as interesting as akdha. I never watched that movie again.
So I don't thonk salim anarkali can creat the magic which is created by akdha. I will stop watching JA after they introduce salim-anarkali track

i do not think it will happen soon but if it does happen it will happen probably in the middle of next year or earlier depending on the trps..the movie just showed salim anarkali angle but here we will see akhda as parents and how they tackle such a situation..as per history salim will be married to maan bai and anarkali will just come in his life and he would want to marry her which will be opposed by akhda..and ekta will cash on it even though as per some it is a folklore..but majority audience will relate to it as they have watched MEA..and this is how ekta will cash on the concept of anarakali and the rest depends on the trps how well audience will take it!

munni please do not compare the great akbar with some manav please😆..first of all the leap will not happen all of a sudden as per news it is postponed to next year, therefore the creatives have enough time to show what they want to show and i do not think the main lead will be sidelined by introduction of anarkali..salim will be there regardless but its anarkali that will spice up things in harem..the track will go on until she dies and then maybe noor jahan will be introduced depending on the trps!

akhda will stay and so will their story..first of all the track will be probably by next year and still they will have the time to show many tracks before that..akhda will stay as central leads and the rest of the tracks will revolve around them..be it anarkali track or any other track because anarkali died eventually and that track cannot take the whole space and sideline akhda, they will be very much there dealing with salim's nafarmaaniya!
