Ohhh my my what a beautiful post divya and mishti , adi and all others have written so beautifully . I don't have much knowledge about the subject but what I had in my head mishti wrote it . So I will go by what is happening now in ja-after atifa and maham exposure which was crescendo for me , there was legato -that impatient hug , they both were resting beautifully but it was short lived , what happened after that was staccato for me , the Eid celebration , attack on atgha and next day following scene , it was kind of abrupt . They should have continued the peaceful sleep , their talk and Eid celebration more like after math of vishpaan .Than came throne burning which was kind of crescendo but then legato was missing and every thing became staccato becoz we saw jodha's side but we didn't see jalal's emotional recovery and we were pushed in to shariffu track , we came know about his recovery from begam as if he just delivered sad emotion out of him and they were congratulating jodha -Ohhh he is all normal . BB -the whole case is staccato for me , when they were talking to her , they didn't understand her plight , her fear and why she did it but held her responsible , including jodha who has doubts of her own about sheriffs treatment to bb but when jalal came in picture , she was telling him think about the reason behind it , girl need to take her own advice some time for herself . Though the issue is very serious about spousal abuse ,female foeticide , in general discrimination against girl child , it does not have legato so effect is not there . Am I making any sense divya ?

Sree, this is one of the most interesting aspect of Rajat's performance - and he has brought in the theatrical grandeur in his performance in such scenes - we have had discussions on Shyamala's threads on the characters that we would like to see him do on the stage and on the screen - from Shakespeare to Bernard Shaw to my current obsession to see him do Professor Moriarity😎

Sree, the part of wishing to see Rajat do the characters of Othello, Mark Anthony, Petruchio, King Lear, Captain Bluntschli etc, was when we were wah wahing the April 11th sequence of Jalal's hreatbreak over SM and Jodha's Vachan - though it does come up often when we see Rajat ka brilliance - and as for Professor Moriarity - this is a more recent one from last week when we were discussing Rajat in the AK death sequence.

These discussion normally happen when Sandhya, lashy, Shyamala, mandy, divya, Paddy, Khushi and I get started on dissecting Rajat's brilliance on screen - isliye there is no single link but posted all over on various threads - infact I actually am sitting thru an EK show for the first time in my life becoz of Rajat's acting - warna main aur EK ka show - Never !!!!!!!

And ur P.S. is apt !!!!! - even I see him as a theater / Stage actor - and since the last 6 weeks the way he has been using the space and his body is very very theater and it just makes him just take over the screen completely.

Okay I get it!...for me rajat playing Anthony and Othello anyday!!...he is the archetypal shakespearean tragic hero...in fact in fridays episode that last scene with jodha ...after he gets shariff slippered...in that scene with jodha he says that he is surrounded by a network of evil...just that one line...look at his expression, hand gesture and voice modulation...it was so theatrical...so shakespeare...so othello...just watch that one scene in isolation...and tell me if it does not give you goosebumps...!!

You know ever since I started watching JA And especially during the initial phase I always envisioned rajat playing Heathcliff of Wuthering heights, my fav actor playing my fav character from my fav love story ... Just imagining rajat in that role gives me goosebumps...he will be absolutely brilliant in bringing out the dark passion of an wronged lover .

Sree, Rajat has the unique ability to bring out various layers of characters, which if one sits to analyse, Lacan and Freud would just not suffice - and along with the tragic Shakespearean hero, there is this ability to perform characters like Petruchio and Captain Blunschli who have a satirical take on life - and Rajat brings his own interpretation to these characters - We have wished to see him do Othello, Shylock, Lear, Mark Anthony, Petruchio from Shakespeare - I would even want to see him do a take of Oberon - and my latest is to see him do a contemporary take on Professor Moriarity.

Yes Charu, he would do Heathcliff with one hand tied behind his back, but I would like to see him do a Sidney Carton, David Copperfield, Maximilian de Winter, for that matter even D'Atregnan !!!!!!

Yes, I don't know what Anjali's issue is - you got the point here ... but yes you do save your other more sentimental takes for others 😉
