Sunny, this Jalal does remind one of Narasimha after having killed Hiranyakashipu and wearing his entrails - the Jalal bathed in blood presented its human version - and it was chilling hence Jodha's first reaction was normal - at least she did realise he needed succor - for me that was enuff - and yes that moment in the hamam Jalal had to be alone - it was not to be crowded with any empathy (though would have loved to see Jodha in the hamam with Jalal for purely different reasons 😉😆)

and hence i was it was an epic moment that she uttered nothing instead very soon realized she needs to be with him😆😆..that is a huge bonus point 😆

me too think that they wanted him in hamaam frockless and screaming hence that scene😆...it was for all the jalal deewanis out here and so jodha was not allowed to interfere 😆

Actually I am glad she dint enter hammam... I so want to see them together in BT, but damn this would have been the worst possible timing.

exactly Adi and even jalal realized it ...you remember during ruqaiyya ka FP after that mandir attack ..jo had stopped him from going to her for the same reason..her reaction to seeing him this hurt in her delicate condition ...me too happy that she did not continue the kroortha part but immediately realized he needed her ..and yes the hamaam was for him to remove that shred of whatever emotion was left with relevance to killing Adham ..he had to wash it off himself both outside and inside..and this was not the time or place for empathy or sympathy..but loved how she kept a watch over him ...

...and yes the entire forum is in agreement with the last part 😆😆

👏 Song selection for each and every scene is bang on divya , those songs are close to my heart . Going to reply in detail afterwards but I have to just tell this one -jodha and her 1st reaction , I understand the fear but being fearless worrier like her , that reaction does not go well . When u r soul mates , u feel pain of ur other half , fear does not take over or for that matter ur own feelings does not take over , u feel what other is feeling , she had plenty of time for her self to come out of shock , fear through which she was going . When he came to her that was the movement he needed her most and withdrawal was not expected from her, just a silent hug was all enough , no words . U don't see outer look of ur loved one when he is at his worst , u just want to cradle so u can protect ur loved one from any pain , u just want to shield it all . So I am bit puzzled but thanks to cvs I guess

My dear Divya,

You are one clever girl, doing all this TRP analysis, and linking that to the JA tracks. I dare say you are right, for this is precisely how the CVs work. They have no consistency and no historical sense, so if some real history survives them as it did yesterday, we should be duly grateful, but not get our hopes up.

This said, what a relief to get you away from your pink cotton candy confections!😉 You are really coming into your own, kiddo, with solid back up from the Akbarnama quotations which I find fascinating, and reassuring as well. I mean to sit myself down one of these days and read the whole book.

As for today, I was relieved that Jodha did not deliver another bhashan, this time on the need for manushyataa and avoiding kroorta, but that was about all I will give her credit for, I simply cannot understand why she shrinks away from Jalal.

I do not know if you are familiar with the famous English mystery novelist Dorothy Sayers, and her aristocratic detective, Lord Peter Wimsey. One night he comes home deeply distraught at the hanging of someone he had helped capture and convict, and is beset with guilt that wracks him inside out. As he comes up the stairs, his wife is sitting in her bedroom (in the early 20th century, separate bedrooms for the English upper class couples was the norm) and thinking : If he does not come to me now, I have failed as his wife. She is relieved only when he comes to her, drops on his knees at her side, and buries his face in her lap.

That is protective love. Not shrinking way from your dazed, stumbling and visibly miserable husband as if he was a leper. And then running after him not to help him, but to keep him from doing anything anuchit. if that word was banned, Jodha Begum would become speechless!😉

Plus, I do not think she had any understanding of what Atgah's death meant to Jalal till she sees him howling with pain in the bath, like Hrithik's Altaf in Mission Kashmir (and Jalal himself on learning of his Khan baba's being killed)

As for the hamaam, I do not think Jodha could have helped him in any way there, and so it was as well that she stayed in the corner.. If she was to comfort him, it would have had to be earlier, in her rooms, by sitting him down, hugging him as he was, and then getting hot water in a basin and sponging his face.

I tired of the overdose of Mahaam today, and her mourning over Adham was too long, while Javeda's was worse. Why the devil did they not clean Adham up as they had done for Atgah?

As for the curse, as I wrote here to Adiana, Mahaam is no Gandhari for her to be able to hit at Jodha and Jalal with a curse. To give a shraap, one needed taposhakti, and no one can accuse Mahaam of having acquired any such powers thru penance! Jalal, as your Akbarnama extract shows, will accept the death of the twins as an act of God, not as the result of the curse of this wicked woman, from whose doodh ka karz thrall he would now be set free at long last.

Divs, wonderful & a fitting sad music take .

That first JaJo scene, well, what message exactly was it giving out am unsure If the message was Jalal approached her for solace, but Jo shied away from him, but realising her mistake later showing she still has some way to go towards her soulmate status, ok fine, let her take her time. Or if it was to show that Jalal can handle his feelings all by himself without any support , as Jo s shown to be a silent spectator of his grief, then it s even more good from my POV 😕 .

I liked the silent outpouring of grief done by Jalal at Atgah s side & liked it too that Hamida came to offer her support. It s beyond me why she almost never approaches Jalal for offering him comfort, maybe it was MA stopping her before, but what s stopping her now . A strange mother indeed!

MA s scene at the harem asking to see Adham or her lamenting at her dead son s side did nothing to me emotionwise except appreciate her acting prowess. Loved the stoic silent persona of Jalal throughout.

Aziz Koka s demand for Adham s life was normal enough considering the century & royal surrounding & of course the dramatic element, but otherwise wasnt worth much for me. Same the scene of Jiji Anga crying or Javeda too just were in norm keeping with the death scenario.

And the precap, I don't place much importance on curses & the like , especially from the mouths of such unworthy people, but if Jalal feels guiltless after seeing this true face of MA, that s more than good for me.

well jalal reminded me of bhim's dialogues from the star plus show mahabharat. after killing dushyasan & drinking his blood, bhim cried & said," ur works like a pishach, also turned me into a pishach." jalal must be thinking the same when he saw himself into the mirror today.

Beautiful take,my dear Adiana.

Loved the riff on Lady Macbeth, though the context is different, and Jalal has no guilt that cannot be washed off even by all the perfumes of Araby.

And as for the final part, I see it exactly the same way. Mahaam is no Gandhari, after all, and all her spitting that curse out (I was hoping that she would not do anything like that, but she did after all) means nothing more than that Jalal can now see her exactly as she is, and this without having learnt about all those unborn babies of his that she had killed.

As Divya's extract from the Akbarnama shows, Jalal would have accepted the death of the twins as an act of God, and not as the result of this evil woman's curse. And why should the Indian audience believe in her curse? The power to give a shraap comes only with taposhakti, and as I noted, Mahaam is no Gandhari after all.

Divs today was all Jalal - all the way - and Rajat - this guy is living Akbar - and it shows on screen 👏👏👏

Where do I begin - lets start where yesterday ended - Jalal had just heard MA's blathering, which had made it very clear to him that for her he was just a commodity called Power - and the man who had numbed himself of all feelings then slowly emptied himself of all memories and feelings - and in that bloodied state comes to the one who is his key to the land of Faith - the land of Ishq - And all he got here was Fear

Since yesterday I have been only looking at Jalal - what has been happening to him - and today showed me this - when Jalal looked at himself in the mirror - what he saw was the first latch of the lock opening - he then went to the hamam to wash off the blood (this was so very Shakespearean that I had goosebumps all over - reminded me of Lady Macbeth) - and as he screamed he let the anger out of him - this was the second latch of the lock opening - and finally Jalal near Atgha Khan's body - the man who had bottled up his grief let it all out - and with his tears flowed out all his grief - this was the third latch of the lock opening - and then again he hears MA both inside and outside as she speaks to AK's dead body and finally her venom coming out - this let him release the final vestiges of guilt and the final latch of the lock opened - The door to his heart is now open - and he today stands like the empty cup

becoz he is feeling like a commodity - used - by the woman who he considered as his mother - and who constantly reiterated that he was her son - she has commoditised the purest relationship and thus commoditised him - and that has emptied him - he has emptied himself of everything - as of now he has become that empty cup that the Universe can now fill - and that is why Jodha becomes more important here becoz for him she is the key that opened the door to Ishq - and this empty cup called Akbar is ready to be filled with Ishq by my dearest frnd Ms. Kayanat 😃

As for the precap - that was MA in all her viciousness - and EK cashing in on the superstitious Indian Audience - All it did was show MA's real face to all - that she was never loyal - just taking advantage - removes the last vestiges of guilt from Akbar's heart.

Adi..beautifully written ...and i really pray this is exactly what the precap intends...jalal realizes the guilt he felt was over nothing ..she has done worse and will do worse...he needs to let go completely and move forward away from her doodh ka karz and its after effects...
