That time he was taken to Uruvela(Bodhgaya) by those 5 Brahmins. There, on the advice of them, he meditated choosing the 'middle path'. At Rajgriha, he was taught to attain the highest level of meditation by Rudrak Ramputra..

And finally attained enlightenment (BhumiSparshaMudra).
Attaining enlightenment was HIS achievement, but we can not IGNORE the role of those who CONTRIBUTED to it..(same for Akbar). So, even Buddha had CATALYSTS in his life. 😊
