For me compassion is a basic human instinct that most feel ... even I who have never defended Khaiber felt bad for the way in which he died. There was something very bittersweet about it- he died in peace and at his own will.

But, for a 16th century king to show that restlessness , care, longing, fear, love, anger all in once for his wife who has broken the law and facing countless rumors among his awaam and show the nuances in one episode is special.

But no matter how much they are at loggerheads with each other , you are right - they are always joined in compassion and caring for others.

That's true enough, we all of us have different things strike us.

What I' saying is, Jallu has shown that he has a special hot line to Jo's brain and knows how she thinks. That's far more important that the usual blah-heart connection. Anybody in a relationship will value that no doubt. That is special.

oh that word 'Nuances' again! 😆 he showed about 3 different nuances with khyb as well.
It's fortunate that he projects EVERY thing on his face for us to see and be in no doubt about his every thought. It's vital when watching these dramas. It also comes in handy to mislead and create some mystery about his tedapan. But sometimes Divy, too much of anything gets a bit tired. Sometimes we want things played straight and I got that for a few mins at the end. No nuances, just raw emotion is a good cathartic release. I dare say Rajat must have used that as a release valve to stay sane.

That is very true .. the "hum jaanthe hain Maan Singh" connection was very special yesterday

I can imagine Jalal practicing the different expressions 😆

Mandy, it's screen presence - he's totally in character and every thing he does or says is very believable. But I have extra fun seeing him be always a bit aloof from the character as well. There is Rajat there and there is Ekta's convoluted Jalal. I see them both as distinct and it works well for me coz it's different. For me, he's always telling a story ...come, let me show you Jalal as I know him, but he is not me and I'm not him.

Paddy, this is very interesting ... when do you see him a bit aloof from the character? Any examples from yesterday? I will go back , watch and observe.

I know you made a similar comment with Paridhi doing a parody of Jodha in the first day with Khaiber - and when I watched it again, I observed the same ... so was curious on Jalal as well

Paridhi was doing comedy there wasn't she...she was enjoying it too.

with Rajat ...

I saw it in every scene yesterday. Whether dupatta holding, or giving Jodha that 'look' after the rescue. He wasn't parodying it, he was playing it with total sincerity but his body language always keeps his own persona as someone standing apart from the situation...hard to explain. It's like he doesn't want to lose himself in the character or the situation, wants to maintain some control of himself and of course, all good actors must know the difference between themselves and the character. If the two start melding and merging...it's no longer acting. I appreciate that he gives me the option to also view the scenes with a slight disconnect. It may be a bit cold, but it works for me.
