Busy day at work ... but how could I not do a take for Jalal today!
Today was Jalal's day ... I just loved him, for how he loves and cares for Jodha.
1. The restlessness to find Jodha ... the way he looked at Jodha's dupatta ... he could not eat , sleep, or drink.
The way he stared at her dupatta ... what all worries and concerns were in his eyes ... I won't eat till he ... and he couldn't even finish the sentence. That was how worried he was about the worst happening to his Jodha.
2. The way he just couldn't even wait for the break to get over ... the determination , he just had to find her. . his thoughts could no longer keep him away from the search ... he jumped on his horse, with a determined look, and moved forward ... whether his team followed or not
He must have been cursing that break when he gave an expression of frustration that he had missed Jodha ... and to add to it, the news that the villagers were about to catch Khaiber when Jodha Begum stopped them.
3. Loved the hero-like entry of Jalal , "Jodha Begum Hum Aa Gaye." About time he gets a hero like entry! And while there was relief in her eyes, there was only concern in his eyes ... it was not over yet ... he had to get Jodha away from Khaiber.
And he launches the spear ... kya superstar aim hai! And loved the way Jodha and Jalal ran to each other. The shock of seeing Jodha fall and the immediate assurance that he is coming.
4. Only he ... only he could save Jodha Begum. Munim Khan stopped him ... but no ... he risked everything. He trusted no one to save his Jodha Begum.
The concern, strain, pain, worry, anger at Khaiber ... all those emotions that Jalal showed as he stretched his hand to Jodha.
And the fear and horror when Jodha fell again.
5. Precap: Jalal's anger is valid in this situation... but more than anger it is frustration ... that his wife has been doubted and criticized by his awaam ... they did not view it as a "bhool" or see her intentions like Jodha was explaining to him... how would he answer to the rumors , the soldiers that had lost their lives, and the villagers who lost their homes? And for what reason?
And I think this is concern that this matter is not over yet is what shadows his eyes in the closing shot of the episode.
And please note the softer tones he used in this precap then he has before ... I think it is very telling of his anger before and why it was OTT ... or at least why I thought so.
Khaiber's end was heart touching ... he saved Jodha ... but then seeing her in a happy place with Jalal ... he gave a beautiful smile as he ended his life. He was fully satisfied that Jodha was safe, happy, and completely in love with Jalal. A heaven of happiness he was never destined to have, not with Jodha, not with anybody. I had guessed this climax would be like the Tamil movie Kadhal Kondein and I was right.
Even Khaiber sees Jodha-Jalal are meant for each other - do we have to question their love every step of the way? Jalal's love clearly showed today. And no matter some of the silly things Jodha does, there is no way I will ever question her love for Jalal.
So, your thoughts on the take and episode?
