It is amazing when things are on game plan ...and I am saying "we are right" because there were multiple elements of the story that we were right on collectively as a group ... and some I, personally was right (and wrong) as well.
(1) Jodha will go to save Khaiber: Those who guessed with her grey blanket that Jodha was on a secret mission to save Khaiber , congratulations you were right! She was indeed and Jodha was being well, Jodha- she will always stand up for what she thinks she is right. 👏
I understand Jodha's sympathy with Khaiber as she views someone who saved her life ... but what she does not seem to see is he also endangered it and continues to be endangering other lives. As an individual, she can make decisions based on humanity. But, as a begum with a responsibility for the awaam, she is putting a lot of people at risk by unleashing Khaiber. Can she take accountability for how Khaiber will behave in the future when she is not around? She knows he only listens to her ... and even that is not working now that she is kidnapped by him.
So, Khaiber does not equal an innocent bird. If her issue was that he was locked in an inhumane way ... than she could have brought him food or source of light. But, how can she release him? Humanity does not have to mean risking the lives of others. My opinion.
And again, even if Jalal is not being Teda and making a big mistake (which he is not), two wrongs never make a right.
(2) If Jodha was being Jodha for saving Khaiber, suddenly she stopped being Jodha in a weak moment.
I will admit, I was surprised to see Jodha's weakness and it has nothing to do with whether she has faith in Jalal's love or not.
I didn't recognize for two reasons: (a) she already admitted she had lost defeat in Jalal ... why did she give up on him so soon without even questioning how odd his behavior is and (b) How did she think of ending her life, when she has duty and love towards those innocent children. I don't need to cite how many ways this goes against Jodha's character ... the list is endless.
And yes, we can make an excuse for her pregnancy changing the way she thinks and feels. But, that was not an obstacle during the Mirchi War. But, in any case, the CVs put it in for dramatic effect.
Hence, I am glad, that even though the CVs added the momentary weakness for drama ... now Jodha is back to her usual strong self , fighting with Khaiber to let her go,hitting him, and throwing mud in his face. Yes, she is not one to give up! The strong Jodha I know is back!
And if we were shocked to see Jodha so weak, don't you think Jalal would not have expected it as well?
(3) Khaiber indeed is the one who kidnaps Jodha: As I was telling all weekend, Shariffudhin was a red herring in this whole kidnapping angle... so please stop falling for red herrings.
I hope Jodha learns that it is not that easy to trust people at face value coming out of this ... more for her own safety and benefit than anything else.
I knew he would go "JJJodha" like SRK's "KKKiran" in Darr. How right was I on that as well 😆
I am glad the Khaiber track is soon coming to its closure and Atifa will be next.
(4) The TE's plan is still on ... still very strong signs the TE plan is indeed on. The last scene was the biggest hint:
- Atifa was in the room. Why is he not staring at Atifa? Notice the BGM and look on his face as he is eagerly searching Jodha
- He is testing Ruqaiyya on how well she is taking care of Jodha
-Did you notice how Jalal's knuckles press hard when he hears Ruqaiyya mention on Jalal-Atifa ... obviously she has misjudged the situation
- Ruqaiyya's point on how the harem's walls had eyes and ears was exactly confirming Jalal's concerns
- See the worry in his face that Jodha was kidnapped ... no he did not think of the kids, his prestige, his anger etc. ... he thought of Jodha Begum. And his expression was not anger , but more like this is exactly what I was worried about
And I like how Jalal has surrounded Atifa with bodyguards ... little does Atifa know it is to keep an eye on her than anything else. 😉
(5) A prayer to God: This scene was very well done because of the ambiguity of the prayers and though it came earlier, I saved it for last.
The fact the CVs kept what Jalal, Atifa, and her husband's wishes ambiguous ... is a sure-shot hint that it is not what we think it is. Atifa did not wish for Jalal, the husband did not wish to find evidence against Jalal ...
Jalal is wishing for a "kwaish" and what else can it be a future of happiness and security for Jodha, his loved ones, and his awaam.
And here is joining in with Hamida Bano, a prayer that our Jodha-Jalal will be in happiness soon enough after the enemies are put to rest.
And the new promo ... it is likely a dream or a symbolic one. Do we still fall for those? 😆
So, thoughts on the episode and my take? It is still a Take 5 no matter what I call it. 😆
