The Man who gave us the face of Akbar !

The Actor who added a whole new dimension to Akbar !

The Magician who brought Akbar live in front of our Eyes !!!

Rajat's ability to get into the skin of the character, the layers & shades he brought to the character...I can't imagine any one else who could do justice to Jalal with such great conviction!!!

It was an infinitely subtle, layered, and controlled performance, not only by the actor, but by the character himself. One would say a superbly choreographed and directed drama, except that it was a solo triumph. For the lead actor was all in one: writer, director and performer. The kind of bravura act that deserved any number of curtain calls. It was like a tennis match : serve, volley, retrieval, smash, set point, match point, game and match to the Emperor -The Emperor Strikes Back

The finest actor of tellyworld EVER.

Even with the sloppiest scripts designed for Akbar with heroine mahaanta as the motto, this actor has risen above the script and given the character of Akbar such shades of brilliance and respectability that are due to the great Emperor.

Brilliant post for an outstanding actor. It seems as if this role was made for Rajat. I cannot think of any other historical character which has so many layers to depict, without the worry of inviting protest because of the portrayal.

The CV's can do almost anything with Akbar, helped somewhat by his story book like life history, most of which is duly recorded. And they can invent their own scenarios when that is insufficient, and they can show him any light they want in these.

This freedom to depict, is not possible for characters like Maharana Pratap or Sivaji or maybe even Asoka. There, even the slightest deviation from heroism and nobility, there will be protests.
