@Adi and Munni I have once read an article about Muslim Harem especially Mughal Harems.
In that article it was written many european writers have some misconception about Harems and their ladies. Harem was not meant to satisfy the needs of the Emporer. Many European says in kings Harems the woman don't have any values they r there just to satisfy Emporer's need and just to bear the child. Its not TRUE.
All the woman who lives in Harem aren't emporer's wife. Emporer's mothers, sisters, daughters also used to live in the Harem. The singers and dancers ,lady poets also used to live in the Harem. Every Queen used to had hundred maids for themselves. Every Queen used to have their own singers, dancer, poets to entertain them. They were lady guards to protect them, there were lady spies in the Harem they used to report to the King. After war many woman were brought to Harem to give them shelter. Many kings used to send dancers , singers and maids as gifts. That's why they were so many woman in king's Harem. But not all of them had relation with kings. Most of them were workers they used to works for queens.
And most of the audience don't understand polygamy. In polygamy each woman has equal right on the husband. Just because Jalal love Jo he can't egnore all his other wives.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, there are a lot of misconceptions. Overall polygamy is a tough concept to fathom ... there is a reason it does not exist today.
But, the CVs could do a better job portraying it but they do not want to
