Today I was watching EHT and watch JA for last 5 minutes.
Akbar's wives had to convince him to go on a war. Pathetic. What they have turn Akbar into. What love had turn Jalal into. The transformation is not from haiwan se insan. It is haiwan se coward.
But love Ruk's speech it was much better than Jo's usual bhasans. She talked sense . Rukku had seen the warrior Jalaluddin Mohammad since kid and she had love that Jallad.
Where Jo hated him and love this kind hearted, lovey dovey 🤢 Akbar. So Jo can never bring Jalal the warrior back. Only Rukku can do that. Her speech was bang on. Loved her every line. She was right. Jalal needs to think about his people, his mom, his begums who will be in danger if he don't fight.

majority of the jalal lovers have left the forum and show after the tasneem track..and that is when the major downfall on jalal started to happen and now its reached to a point where the begums have to tell him what is right and wrong for the awaam..but i liked ruq's speech it was to the point and touched all the right buttons! a big relief from jodha's monotone bhashans!

munni, the cvz and zee are panicking now for shoving down the crap down our throats..they better show us real history with references so that people can connect to it...and jodha's mahaanta is not mentioned in history, its all NRs!

That is just it, Surya, perfectly put. Plus, as I had noted, she knows how to handle him,how to press all the right buttons.

As for the CVs and Ruqaiya, I do not think they know themselves what they want to do with her!😉

i really fail to understand what exactly are the cvs planning with ruqaiyya...why are they taking her to the extreme opposites...when one starts liking her ,they will push her to the other side with one more of her silly plan

Thank you very much, Rashmi, and as for your very pertinent points, I agree with them in toto. As for your closing line, Hallelujah!

Very nice post Shyamalaji. What I feel was that Kansa and Bhagwad Gita example didn't work
on Jalal because he never heard about it before , Jodha came in his life.Though he must be dealing with Hindus before but with Jodha now a part of his family ,he is now becoming aware of these Hindu beliefs and scriptures. If somebody is listening to Mahabhartha stories or hymns of Gita from childhood ,for him it would have been effective.
Well Ruku is his friend. And sometimes a friend can reach to your heart more effectively than your beloved .Ruku's speech was mind blowing and she put forth all valid points. For me Ruku and Jodha giving advice to their husband and he listening to them is not a big deal. What Shiv- Parvati do on Kailas Parbat or Laxmi and Vishnu do on Sheshnaag ? They do discuss matters and many times these devis have given advice to their respective godly husbands. They have listened to them.Same here.
Jodha going to Ruku for help shows that she doesn't want to just enjoy being Jalal's fav nor does she want total control on him.She understands importance of others also in his life.See she didn't go to Salima who is known for her advice but she went to Ruku as she knew who is going to have more impact.
But the main thing is Jalal ,the warrior is back and I will bow to him with respect.

Raksha, your take on tonight's episode is a scream, and I can barely see the monitor for tears of laughter. But folks and my dear Divya, here is my impressionistic take on the whole.

Jodha Akbar 278: The Shahenshah is back!

That was just it, folks, WHAT a relief it was!!

And Ruqaiya had a truly grand scene (how come the CVs let it thru intact, with all those splendid lines?😉) which was the clincher in bringing Jalal around. She was not just forceful, she drew on her lifelong acquaintance with Jalal to press all the right buttons. In no particular order:

The naam of the Jannat Aashiyani Shahenshah Humayun, the shaan of the Mughal sultanate, the awaam.

She demanded that the old Jalal rise again. The Jalal who had picked up the shamsheer at 9 and become Shahenshah at 13. The Jalal who had never forgiven an enemy of the Mughal sultanate. He now had to decide whether to write history with his shamsheer, or let the sultanate become history.

That the Shahenshah first and primary bond was with the takht, and all his loved ones came only after that.

She very neatly wove in his dil and his mohabbat and then swept them off the board by asserting that the sultanate and the awaam did not now need an dildaar aashiq or an affectionate brother, but a sangdil sipahi who could destroy his enemies and protect his awaam.

The terrible fate that would await his begums if he did not fight, and the degradation that the conquerors would inflict on his mother: that was truly a master stroke.

Even while dismissing Nigar's claims on him as his sister by citing what all she had done to him, she gave Jalal a way out by pointing out that he need not raise his shamsheer against his sister, but raise it he must, to fulfil his vow and his duties as the Shahenshah.

It was like the best drill sergeant's rallying speech I have ever heard, and no wonder, with her exhortations and Jodha's more ponderous lines ringing in his head, Jalal finally comes around.

The thing is that both she and Jodha essentially said the same things, about the Shahenshah's duty to his subjects, about the need to set personal relationships aside to fulfil this duty, and so on. The difference was in the way Ruqaiya put it.

She was far less staid and preachy, and she couched her arguments in a way that was far more accessible to Jalal than the very strong Krishna-Kamsa example (one presumes that Jodha did not mean this to be taken literally re: Nigar!).

Plus, Ruqaiya drew on her intimate knowledge of Jalal and her years of experience in handling him. She also appealed to his pride in his heritage, his love for his father, and his deep sense of responsibility for all those under his care - his begums, his mother, or the awaam - far more tellingly and effectively than Jodha.

Who was, for the first time ever and to my great astonishment, given a sharp rebuff by Jalal and summarily dismissed. It was noteworthy that he did not say anything dismissive to Ruqaiya, for all that her bhashan was far longer and far more assertive than Jodha's . Plus he turned up in the human chess room when he got her message, even at such a time. Clearly, the habits of a lifetime were asserting themselves; he has long been used to listening to Ruqaiya, plus they share a fierce commitment to the aan, baan aur shaan of the Mughal sultanate, which is visceral and instinctive, not a recently acquired loyalty like Jodha's.

It would never have occurred to Jodha to summon the Shahenshah to the chess room! But one has to hand it to Jodha. She has no ego, especially when it comes to gathering support for any cause she holds dear, and she is objective enough to realise the advantages that a childhood friend would have over her in such a situation. I only wonder whether she ever found out that Ruqaiya had gone to Jalal after turning down her request to her to do so. I hope she did.

Now I suppose Jodha and Ruqaiya will go to war against just Nigar, while Jalal & Co. take care of Mahachuchak's army, plus Abul Mali's henchmen. One is thankful for small mercies; I had fully expected that Jalal would sit weeping in his hoojra while his begumath took to the battlefield.

Mirza Hakim is apparently still in the role of Lakshman. Wonder what Mahachuchak would do to him when she gets her hands on him!

shyamala dearest lavi and rajat rocked in that scene..i love these two together..their chemistry and acting is far better, at least she does not act as a mother or a big sis

and yes, i am glad to see the precap..i hope our long lost jalal is back after hearing such a practical speech from his first begum!..these two share a strong bond from childhood and only ruk could wake that strong jalal which has been put to sleep by the grand dil ki kahaani..! i hope the wake up call is permanent..! i want to see the strong authoritative jalal again! who was all in all..and also the real akbar was loved by his awaam but for his enemies he was khauf-e-jalal till the end!

i so agree with you sunny! only ruk could do that and lavi was bang on with her speech..just loved it! and i do not get why the whole forum is after her getting punished..there are far more heinous criminals that need to be dealt with first..she cannot be MUZ what worst of a punishment she can get! i think if cvz plan on that they will loose further trps, as it will look out of spot now!

as you have put ,she did not sound preachy or intimidate him..it was hard fact presented to him and yes she knew exactly which buttons to push, though i honestly wished someone would drown him in that bath tub...am just wondering how much is he going to cry seeing his other ammi attacking him with an army😆

and i agree with you...cvs are themselves confused what to do with her..if only they had the brains and the inspiration ,the character would have been fascinating and taken center stage...even with all her silliness she still comes across as more real than anyone else in the show right now...

I agree with you mandy. I don't understand why people call zee to ask when will ruq gets punished. Lavina Rajat chemistry is awesome, you just cannot deny that. They look at ease in the shot and the director must be santaram who directs their shots. It's a well directed shot.

I don't know why but Paridhi dialogues always look preachy to me and also since she has her own director, their scenes look very dull together. Either with BD or no intensity

I want Ruq to be more positive character in the show

mandy i seriously do not think they are planning on any punishment or ruqaiyya exposure about FP..coz that is long gone and it will not even make sense whatever MA does..coz jalal knows everything and he will not punish her ..now if she does something sillier i am not sure...

i liked the scene coz it made so much sense for a change...i was on the verge of drowning him in that bath tub if he had cried anymore...although it is a tragedy that he needs to be told what to do even after seeing what the enemies have done...jalal has become so passive that it seems someone has to tie him to a rope and drag him to the war...he was always compassionate from start but that never took away the warrior in him ,the just king in him...i can understand his sadness for what is happening but how is not going to war helping anyone...just like sending todarmal to death sentence and crying

cvs need to hurry and clear this mess...before the remaining audience too say bye bye to the show...

and yes at the risk of being crucified i will say it...jodha says a lot of words of which very few makes sense..and shehnaaz agreed to that ...why ruqaiyya made sense coz she used words and every one of them made complete sense...now if the dialogue writer himself wants to mock jodha do not blame me😆
