I have not been to post on ur thread since few days because I have been really busy with new job. You know today when I was at work, I was expecting bhandaphod of ruq so I sneaked out and and check the written update with lots of excitement on my phone and I just read one line that it was declaraed MC and it ruined my mood and finally got to read the update after work and I was so freaking mad. I had never skipped the epi of JA and I was totally planning to do it but I watched the episode to observe Jalal's expressions to c if he was at all mad or not and also to c Akdha's scenes.

I was extremely furious today. I feel cheated by CVS because I tolerated this crap for three weeks for nothing. I was mad at both Jodha and Jalal. Why did Jodha have to be this sacrificing and too generous and forgiving? Why did Jalal has to listen to saugandh? (If someone tell me, tujhe meri kasam, I simply tell them I don't believe in it. yes, I believe in promises and vows which are done at my will not because someone make me helpless). Even if Jalal listened to jodha and did not tell HB and others(which they had right to know), why could not Jalal tell Ruqaiya that it was because of Jodha he forgave her. He could have shared what jodha and he talked to her when it was needed for Ruq to understand that Jodha is not trying to come between them but actually understands Ruq than at least she might have reformed and made this forgiving more believable. But, I did like how Jalal warned her at least. I do want Ruq to be reformed but only after she is punished (may be when MA reveals about ruq- ruq does not need to commit another crime but she needs to be punished and at least reformed. IF She is reformed from now on, then may be it will calm me down but if she does another crime then I will be speechless). And Oh ya, I am afraid but we will have to tolerate more Ruq-jalal scenes now because he is going to be shown as a good friend and assuring her etc but i feel jalal might not be as normal as he used to be, he will be more restrained.

You know as much as I was mad at Jodha and Jalal, I realized that maybe Jodha told Jalal to forgive Ruq because she feels guitly that since she came into Jalal's life, Ruq's importance has not been same as before and even Jalal feels that even if he did not admitted it. And also Jodha believes in forgivness which could be seen in BB case.

I guess this episode has put me in state of duality. I feel cheated and made that Ruq was not punished but at same time I get where Jodha is coming from.

Only reason I am glad that I did not skip the episode was that the last scene of Akdha was lovely. When Jalal puts his head on her shoulder and also tell her that how Jodha also takes care of his relations and only wants love and affection. The best part was when Jodha puts her head on shoulder and holds his arm and says there is only between husband and wife. that was picture perfect moment.

Take care Mansi. wish u a speedy recovery.

Take care...get well soon!!!
skanda, yesterdays epi was so diguisting...I never thought even in my dream that it will turn into such a disappointment
I feel as if I am cheated...CVs have nicely fooled us .
this mahhan jodha once again showed her mahaan hunar and jalal like joru ka gulam agreed to forgive ruq who not only cheated him but the entire sultanate and the reason jodha gave was that ruq feeling insecure n wanted her friend back...I just want to ask jodha wat maham did was also for the same reason to get back her son who was giving more importance to u than her...u gave her big bhashan and her not even a single word to ruq...why?????
And now if maham insults jalal n reveals ruq ka FP in DEK I won't feel bad for jalal
I am fed up of this jodha's mahaanta...CVs have turned her character into typical daily soap heroine who keeps on forgiving the villian
Becoz of yesterdays epi I am not even interested in watching todays epi...I am highly diasppointed

hi Mansi,

First of all, am really shocked to know you still have that back problem and need surgery. Please take good care of your health. Like I told you last time also, this track is at an all time low. So you can well take a break. wishing you a speedy recovery! :) (big hug)

Mansi, I don't feel anything at all about yesterday's epi. I have cut myself off emotionally and mentally.
This is the third time since oct when I started watching JA. Earlier I had stopped watching during Jo FP track and during Ben track. In short, whenever Jo becomes self sacrificing, and is publicly humiliated, I no longer feel anything for her or the show.

I have defended JJ a lot in the face of a lot of public comments. But now I have no words to defend them.

This is at the end of the day, just a tv show. How JJ
Behave here will not change how the real JA were. After hearing my friends' views last night, I thought a lot abt the epi. Here are my thoughts.

The show is @ best a natakiya roopantar, not the real slice of life documentary. It is by EK known for her regressive female characters. It is made for trp's/profit. We may not like such female characterization, but there must be a market for it. That's why EK continues to show such self sacrificing heroines. And heroes who are tragedy kings. Seriously JJ now look like versions of Dilip Kumar and Meena Kumari. Tragedy king and queen.

Should we even have expectations from a tv show, esp from EK? NO. It's our fault if we expect an Indian tv/film heroine to be a strong, self respecting person. Long back, in a post, I had admired Shabana Azmi for walking out of a bad marriage in Arth and making it on her own. But the kind of women she and Smita Pail enacted in the 70s are no longer seen on the big or small screen. All we see are scantily clad and/or self sacrificing, dumb girls. And such movies/shows are big hits. So obviously such women are liked across India. Even by women.

Like Gem said, it's our fault for choosing to watch this show. And we should quit if we can't take the crap anymore. Because the PH isn't bothered by such minority views.

They want to please everyone, including certain cross sections of people who want to see Ruq as a high ranking queen at all times. It's ok with them to show Jo as a meek lamb in the process because in India, the woman is anyway a cow, revered and left to fend for itself on the streets.

Cleo, do you really think Indians need a show to have certain expectations from women? Actually its the other way round. Indians expect women to behave a certain way and these views drive tv shows.

Women are not progressing, rather they are reGressing. There is more crime against them, more suppression, more genocide against them even before birth. When society is trying to push women to the stone ages and make them disappear from the public view, if possible, we are at fault if we feel like this for a tv heroine.

I thought and thought last night. What is the anger and frustration about on the forum? Do I love Jo etched by PS or the real HK?

I love the real HK. I will continue to love her, no matter how Jo by PS behaves. My HK was strong, self respecting, brave, intelligent, generous, loving, astute, a great lady much much ahead of her time. Who stood shoulder to shoulder with a great emperor without flinching and could make her own mark on history without being overshadowed by him.
A woman who could stand the test of time and attempts to obliterate her from chronicles and still makes her presence felt.

Let the show turn any which way. It cannot affect how I view HK and the real JA story. Nor do I feel it can affect the image of women any more negatively than already seen around us.

UNRES
get well soon mansi... missing your post...😊 will pray for you
now...before I begin this post let me tell you guys that while writing this I'm listening to the soundtrack of one if my fav, tsubasa chronicle and eating a generous slice of chocolate soaked chocolate cake enough to give a diabetic person a nightmare... so apologies if I sound a bit chirpy cos I'm in a goodish mood and have forgiven the CV's somewhat... *ducks to avoid assorted e-chappals from the ones still disgruntled from yesterday*
hehehe *sheepish smile*

yesterday, when I saw jalal covering up ruk's 'gunaah' in front of the ladies by hugging her and then forgiving her, I can't tell you guys how furious I was... I was literally cursing at jalal and the CV's for the crap I was watching... I had switched off the tv in anger and disgust, but then switched it on right back... 😆
but I was still growling mad and voicing my opinion on what jalal should have actually done and somehow digesting the ruk/jalal scene...when the advertisment came...
and then my mother, who had been so far silently watching me vent (and I'm embarrased to say) throw a mini tantrum, turned to me and said
"Beta, itna cruel mat hua karo. yeh achhi baat nahi."
(child, don't be so cruel. it's not right.)

I was aghast and like an (ex)teenager is wont to do, I immediately started arguing with her... how can she defend ruks after all this...?

she told me she could understand why ruks, who had so far been the only important wife until jodha came along, could fake her pregnancy for jalal's attention... she said that though she has never experienced this, but she understands how painful it would be for a woman who has to compete with another women to get her husband's love and attention in a polygamous marriage... she said that in those times, for most women, their lives were defined by the fact that they married someone and were given importance if they produced an heir or not (me mum's a hardcore feminist :P) and ruks did the same...
of course I jumped in with my ends not justifying the means and how ruks already was important, and how she has toyed with the imperial honour and respect, played with her husband's feelings, made jo a quasi-bandi and how she has sullied motherhood etc etc...

but my mum just laughed a little at me patted my hand and told me that I had yet to see the realistic face of the world and learn to see things with practicality... and not see things only black and white but compromise with the blurred lines in between too...

needless to say I saw the rest of the episode with an extremely sour expression on my face as if I had triphala churan in my mouth... (for those who don't know, it tastes horrendous)
and then the episode ended...

but my mum's talk with me left me with mixed feelings... here is my disgust at what I saw and then my confusion at what a wise lady told me about it...

so I watched the repeat at 11...
and I have to say, I'm a bit glad jalal forgave ruks...
I'm glad jalal and jodha don't have to oust ruks to let their love thrive, their relation is not so weak that cv's have to totally eliminate her for jalal and jo to have a bond...
I didn't think it was jo's 'mahaanta' or whatever...
I'm glad that jalal kept his friendship intact... and I'm glad this has done nothing but brought jodha and jalal closer... even more so than before... he will now think twice before even trusting ruks, unlike jodhu whom he trusts implicity now...

The CV's have two roads before them now concerning ruks...
either they can make her soften towards jo, and make her accept that though she will be still be special, it's jodha that jalal loves and she will always be the most special
or the CV's can make ruks over confident, make her do another saajish and this time when she's caught, be chewed alive by all and sundry... jalal's warning to her sounded pretty ominous...
I'm hoping for the former but my experience with the CV's root for the latter...
also maham is a ticking bomb as my friend put it... she might just spill all the rotten beans who knows...

now before you guys jump my throat about how Mughal sulatanate will be under lurid gossip, the king's honor is compromised, and all the political negative stuff that this will result in... I've only focused on the emotional positives ... it won't do for me to get depressed and demotivted over my very first serial... trust me when I say I've had worse in other stories, video games (like 'walking dead' *sniff sniff* why you do this to me Lee...waaa😭) and mangas...
for the rest I'll only say PEACE!!

ooh... time for some macarena !!!
bla bla bla... AAAEEE MACARENA !!!

Hi Mansi...please do take care of your back...most back troubles can be very obstinate in nature unless completely cured...& with the story line in complete shambles, you're back & brain both deserve a complete break from these daily posts for a few days...I strongly recommend that, rest u know better, of course 😳
Coming to yesterday's epi...I remember, I had once mentioned in a post on Ela's thread, long back, that Ekta's Jo is a fictional character, & hence we should not get too worked up about her antics on screen😆...she was MAHAAN, she was self sacrificing, & above all, excellent at Extempore 😉 --the 3 qualities which define a typical Ekta heroine. N lo & behold, u have Tulsi, Parvati, & Jo (Tulsi & Parvati are iconic Ekta characters, or so I have heard...I don't know the names of the others). Obviously, I had received a lot of flak for my "fictional" comment then 😆

Today, I can scream from the rooftops that Ekta's Jo is a fictional character who is probably better off in a Sooraj Barjatya film, causing diabetes to one & all 😉

(Abhay, I hope you are reading this 😉)
