Jodha is still an exception to the uber-selfless heroines we have on TV these days... Jodha at least speaks for herself.. her problem is with the lack of depth/lack of reciprocation /lack of understanding of her feelings for a husband who is madly in love with her...she even empathizes from BB's point of view - a lady who was out to kill her... but, she can't from Jalal's point of view...not even at THIS stage?😕

I find many arguing that Jalal mistrusts Jodha so, she hasn't developed those feelings for him while Jodha has never done so... didn't Jodha take a long while to even start trusting him in the first place...

Besides, an apt comparison can NEVER be made because the serial is set in Agra with more Anti-Jodha forces and people brainwashing the king always (and understandably so since such was the evil world of power politics)
We don't have it the other way around to make an apt comparison - had the whole setting been in Amer.. with 95% of the people Jodha was brought up with...i.e. her own family... turning to be Anti-Jalal and constantly plotting/planning/scheming/exchanging letters/spreading rumours etc to brainwash her AGAINST Jalal - then, only we'd know if and how she goes against her own, uses rationality and stands the test of 'trust'... till then, it's easier said than done to judge a man who gets swayed by relations he's grown with for 15 and 22 years!

Whatever the general feeling of the show, this track has made it appear like Jodha is far far more important to Jalal than he is to her! If it was an epic track, they should have made it appear like both miss each other equally - not one on the verge of death and the other praying for 'her husband to find the love of his life' 😕
I have no idea what this new promo is, but I really do hope it brings about some 'desperation' from Jodha's end... because currently, its nearing a year and I feel there's still an imbalance in the portrayal of the leads...

It is not only the empathy that is the issue ... But she failed to speak for herself the one time she should have ... So great to get your thoughts on this Shraddha ... Missed it. How is the vacation?

But, I feel that that is kind of what happened with Jodha and Sujamal- except lucky for Jodha, Sujamal has good intentions and MA does not. But, how does Jalal know that?

It is more than a year ... We have arrived at their second holi.

I have an update on the promo in my take 5 thread.

I am not in a very positive mood. The queen bee of this forum is leaving. I am going to miss her a lot.

In this melancholy mood let me express a few of my rantings.

Jodha and Akbar are both very popular characters as reflected in the Ormax ratings, so either will shine if given the right material.

What is happening right now is that the relationship as being presented is unbalanced. All the emotional throughput is from Jalal's side and that is why some have begun to criticize Jodha.

But one has to remember that all this is the CV's doing, maybe they want to show that Jodha's love cannot be won so easily. That she does not come at Jalal's beck and call like all the rest. As for emotions maybe the CV's are waiting for one great emotional release, perhaps when Jalal's life is in danger. Maybe that is why they are saving Jodha's emotions.

Through all this one should never forget that Paridhi is a very good actress. She has even eclipsed Aishwarya as the Jodha in people's minds. It is not her ability which is in question. She will do whatever is asked of her and do it well.

Whatever the reason for the present imbalance in the characters, have a little faith and hang on.

👏 well said!! Yup when it comes to emotional front with respect to jalal, then jo's character becomes inconsistent. This is actually from beginning, while in case of jalal the graph of his emotion for jodha is strictly increasing, so as a viewer I m able to connect with jalal's emo much more than jo. N agra is full of conspirators, even those people go against jo whom she helped, n when such people accuse her things become complicated for jalal n he mistrust her.

Very well put thoughts. I have not supported all actions of Jodha, but now the new aarop of her not thinking about him all the time, crying and be desperate to see him, just like how Jalal feel is not fair only because she voluntarily choose to leave him. When you choose to break a relationship there is not much pain, it is the other person who still wants the relationship to work bears all the pain.
When Jodha comes across a situation of losing Jalal's life she will burst out her emotions.

Very few people supporting the show these days. Sad to see that but i refrain from reading some of the posts because they change the way you look at the show. I loved every track of JA before i started reading the forum. Now not so much. Very powerful writers in IF i must say...

Balance...is the keyword that is missing from the show. It is the imbalance that has been the cause of all debates in the show. While jalal's portrayal is complete in all aspects, he is human. ...made of flesh and blood, and reacts like any man in his place would...Jodha's portrayal completely lacks credibility. While her fighter spirit is adorable and it is a relief that she is no 'come whip me type', but her stubborn refusal to contemplate is inexplicable. That too when she sees from the povs of every tom dick and harry, the birds and bees, the flowers and trees and even the cheap villains of the palace...feels and sympathises with them...but finds fault, real and imaginery, only in her charming loving patidev whom till a few months ago, she looked upon as vermin.

Oh we like the spirited heroine. We don't want het kneeling or begging in front of anyone. But neither the hero. Why is he always apologizing begging pleading and sweating? As though she is so supreme that one has to toil to win her . In what aspect does he fall short? Why is she made to look like a saint and he a sinner. 😕

Dear Aunty, thank you soo much for the PM 🤗 I was active on the other forum before joining IF so I will surely catch you there 😉 and do let me know if you start your blog, it is always a pleasure to read you. This is the only thread on IF where I read each and every comment and feel like a home. I've kinda moved on from JA, a new show which started this week caught my attention and unfortunately has the same time slot, so I do not know for how long I will keep watching JA, maybe less than a week. But as your posts are more exciting and fun than the actual episodes I will always keep reading them. 😊

No, my dear Shweta. I am more touched than I can say by your message, but this time I am not backtracking.

What you say about moving on is correct, but for you kids, not for me at my age.

Do see what I have said to Munni above. That offer is just as open for you, and for anyone else who wants to take me up on it. By PM, or if you PM me for my e-mail id, by personal e-mail. We can set up an e-mail group if some of you are really interested. But not here, not any more.

As I said, I love you all.

I can agree with a fiery proud princess showing that she s not at a Shehenshah s beck & call till now, when Jodha hadn't realised her feelings of love for Jalal. But now if even after realising she 'bahut prems ' her husband, still she shows this sort of almost uncaring attitude is what doesn't sit well . Then the question arises of what Jodha considers more important, as it seems she s placed ego & pride above her feelings of love, not to forget her non realisation ya non acceptance of her part in the current MU.

Honestly its not about anyone's acting abilities. Its surely about balance. Strong heroine doesn't mean weak hero. Present scenario is like jodha is doing evrything whereas jalal is only there for the love story. If its a love story emotions should be same. If jodha loves jalal then at least there should be sum flashbacks. Things r going on as if in each nd evry case jalal is the culprit. Sumhow too much repenting nd crying is decreasing the charm.

Very well put. I have maintained this from the very beginning that the ONLY problem with Jodha's characterisation has been that the cvs are confused between self-respect & ego.

Self respect is a proper sense of one's own dignity and integrity...while

Ego is an inflated feeling of pride in your superiority over others.

Initially, it was Jodha's weapon againgst her TedhaEMPEROR -husband. But with the gradual metamorphosis of ghrina-to-mitrata-to-love, the ego should have melted away. It is her ego which is hurt & is stopping her from verbally accepting her mistake, though her antaratma has informed her about it.

Her self-respect was definitely hurt by the accusations of adultery by her husband, but her ego stopped her from admitting that her mistake started the whole MU.

Should ego have a place in true love?
