According to me it was not love at first sight or anything as such. I feel it was MV's word that made her to think about jalal when she got his glimpse in river. MV said that she will see her future in the light of Diya ,so she expected surya but saw jalal. So it was her curiosity to know who exactly was her future if not surya.

But the truth, my dear, is that Jodha is primarily in love with herself, and she cared for Jalal as a very promising, obedient and grateful pupil who was promoting all her pet projects and doing her proud. Not as a beloved.

So here we have a woman who says she loves him, but does not even wince at his wounds. I wanted to hit her real hard, with I do not know what.

yup I remeber those scenes very well and would still say that it was nothing but curiosity n effect of MV's word. You yourself told the answer of it. Jodha knew her fate was surya but she saw glimpse of jalal. N considering the fact that jodha n her family had strong belief on outcome of gangaur festival n superstitious related to it, jodha believed what MV told. So when she saw jalal she somewhere believed him to be her fate n from that point her curiosity increased to know her fate,to know who the man was. His glimpse in river left impact on her, its from no point is love at first sight. Its just the same situation in which jalal was, he saw jodha ,got mesmerised by her divine beaty, she left impact on his mind, he was engrossed in her thought but was not at all involved in love at first sight.
