I find it awfully sad that Akbar's legacy and his love of people has been overlooked because of the cruelty of descendants like Aurangzeb; it is because of them that the Mughals became associated with narrow views and an unforgiving nature.
Akbar worked so hard for all of his reforms and policies and unfortunately many of them were erased later on by his own blood or simply forgotten.

All in all, it is great that we are seeing a "revival" of information about who Akbar really was!

in a way i am thankful to ekta for that at least! in history we read about them and then forget..we never learn from history as to why this person was great what lessons we can learn from him besides his excellent administrative reforms and vast empire..its tolerance!..if we bring that quality in us this world will become a better place to live!

and u r rt in saying that none of his successors were as capable and humane as him, that is why the empire could not stand and got invaded by the britishers!

That is because they have no preconceived notions. Their views are not clouded by religious or nationalistic hatred. They see what happened and report it. One could almost call them neutral observers.

Of course no one it totally neutral but they are as close as there will ever be.

It's interesting. What would it have been like if all of Akbar's descendants to the throne had learned from Akbar's rule and followed his example? Where would India stand?

i completely agree with you on that! and their had work in getting to the roots of the story shows..its interesting how they went to various places related to akbar and interviewed people around and also found some original books and some descendants of ghazni in pakistan..indeed commendable!

i wish that ekta shows guru amar dasji in the serial, but i doubt if that will happen because sikhs do not allow any of their gurus being portrayed that is why no movies or serial is ever made on a sikh guru..only documentaries with their original paintings!

khair, I am watching the BBC one mentioned by Donjas😊

I think he had a christian wife, a far off distant relative(from ghenghis khan's family)
