yes, I do wish throughout we got to witness a strong jalal...par there have been weakpoints in his life too... I've just accepted that this serial is based only upon the 'moulding' of akbar's period...
remember the movie Gandhi mere baap..that story was from the perspective of Gandhi ji's son and showed purely the aspect of him as a father (and the pressures upon his son) it didn't focus on freedom struggles...after all, tagline of this serial has also been 'Jodha ne kaise banaaye akbar ko haivaan se insaan'
I do miss his intelligent plotting/planning etc though... I really wish they did without the harem so much and showed other more interesting political strategies... đ

Moulding period is fine.
Let him be an emotional mess. He is awakening to his inner self for the first time. His confusions are acceptable not his utter foolishness. Would an emperor of Akbar's calibre not have jasoos behind shariffu whom he doesn't believe still but releases only for the sake of jo.
His tasneem fiasco is unforgivable. Depression is one thing. But lack of basic common sense another. They could have just wound it up with his passing the law and spared the ruqs talaaq angle. That was simply thrust to brighten halos. They need not have made jalal look stupid by ordering mass divorces.
As for the tagline he became the best insaan ever right from the Ajmer track. What is there to transform more. No haivaan would cry at the plight of a small boy. No haivaan would gift his dear fort for the happiness of a sister in law. No haivaan would be ready to give up his throne to keep up his promise.
Had jalal been politically smart and jo introduces him to humanities and humanitarian aspects of admin and awakens his inner goodness there would be no complaints. But why is made to look so foolish and jobless till he issues firmans and makes law that implements what jo points out amd explains. If both were showm busy and smart and yet compliment each other it would be okay.
The show has simply lost its charm though there are occasional touches of it sometimes somewhere in between that still holds me on.
