Is this Jalal's reason for urging Jo to take up harem's reins?
He knows that she can be jealous of other women close to him. Does he want to have her maintain a log book of his hojra-visits so that her jealousy will push her to him? 🤣
Log visits were kept and this wasn't the work of the begum but of the harem wardens...this is what I read in lizzys reply...😳
This was to make sure there was no hanky panky in the harem in the absence of the emperor especially since he was in harem only for few months in a year... if a woman became pregnant - the log book (I.e, when king visited whom) would ensure that the child was indeed the kings and not as a result of some affair with some outsider...this had great implications because that child could later on lay claim to the throne...
Bhavya read abhay's post ...even including the begums, bandhis, aunts, sisters, their guards, mother, nannies etc et the total number of women was nowhere close to 1000 and all...harem was a place where women stayed...not everyone there was his wife...😊
My guess-
Also, while Jodha might find the harem concept new ... Some form of a system must have existed across most other kingdoms too, right...because, most kings practised polygamy na 😊
Also, I've heard that it was the duty of the maharani to dress the chosen younger queen for the night...😕 But, I could be wrong...
