elections r needed so tht jodha can prove herself. as a king he can replace anyone but then it wont be justified. ruku can easily charge him for being partial. so it was necessary to give equal chance. if suppose jodha fails in future he will be answerable. he knows jodha is able & others r also supporting her but still it becomes necessary to prove the point tht jodha is the right contender & the voters can clearly see for whom they r voting. actually he is doing elections so tht he can be fair to both as a shahenshah. & he will never eradicate ruku. if he wanted to eradicate her then he wouldnt have done the elections. he cares for her & thts why he wants a fair competition. if he replaces ruku directly she will be hurt as well. elections r actually the most fair thing he can do.

Jalal is definitely aware of the situations and war prisoners at that time were part of the slave - servant lot.

The difference is that unlike most of the others Jalal has been humane and gentle and well behaved with everyone who works for him and does anything for him - It has been evident in all his behavior and it is unfortunate that despite such a friend and husband who leads by example Ruqs has not managed to imbibe anything from him.

As for reforms - in a society where all the others would have protested if there was a move to abolish slavery - the standard has to be set by the house of the King - and for TE to do anything the harem would first need to be cleaned up - and Ruqs would never have agreed - toh public reform se pehle TE needs private reform in his own home - then and only then can he talk of public reform - infact the kanha murtis may have even been kept by TE (only next week will tell us who did it) - so that members of all religions can perform their prayers their way - perfect example of religious harmony in home - to bring it in the public sphere

Khush, the point i agree to certian extent. MA might get to know about the painting from the painter and might help SD or not sure what. Jodha might also be kidnapped, but I doubt Jalal will ever think they both ran away. We might get to see some action here but sure it Jalal wont misunderstand Jodha.

On 2nd point - Jalal knows sujamal is her borther. so it might not be like movie thinking its her lover. But he will be angry for sure as she met Sujamal who has killed his soldiers and met his enemy. so for this Jodha might also be punished.
