Yesterday's episode had a touch of class as it had flashes of the Ganghor. But today's was just run of the mill. There were two things notable and enjoyable today.
1. What else do Rajvanshi women not allow their husbands to do! My God! Only Jalal can ask such loaded questions. I was laughing so much at it.
2. 'Very few Emperors get the opportunity to be punished due to their laws and methods. Aapne humse woh mauka cheen li'. And the way he looks while saying that. Again advantage Jalal here. Who writes his dialogues? His angst and pain at the practices going on in his country, the cruelty of his soldiers who misuse his name, the fake shaahi mohra and his being ignorant of the whole thing and his people suffering physically and mentally because of it...his taking responsibility of the scenario (as usual) thinking that it is his failure as a king that such practices are prevalent and wishing that he receive a whip or two in repentance...was all clear in that one line and his resolve to set things right was clear in his looks and tone. What a man! He has always been Akbar within!
The man who could be grateful to loyalty, who could forgive the king who saved his father, who could easily say thanks and sorry and be humble even when he is at the helm, who wanted to slay AK who tortured people at Malwa , who takes the full blame even when not wholly responsible and gives credit to others, who is always determined to accept and correct his faults and does his best to his family and his citizens...has always been the mark of Jalal.
Aunty, though the makers are satisfying the heroine-glorification-seekers by their explicit Jodha Devi and patni-kartavya dialogues, it is Jalal's character that is implicitly glorified, intricately and as an undercurrent right from the start of the show. And naturally so...it is he who is Akbar, the great.
A little more to today's episode,
-I don't like this stuffed teddy bear avatar. I want the shaahi libaas back. Never mind even if it one among the same 8 costumes that he has had from the start of the show. (The shamsheer was visible atleast as an adornment there). 😭
-Why don't they pay the daroga in coins and set out with their entire group. What was the point of leaving the soldiers behind. If they were not needed why take them along in the first place? Surely the emperor wouldn't be travelling bankrupt even in disguise.
-This dhakka thing is becoming as repetitive as 'Jalal ka sar' and 'Hamare pas dil nahin hai'. They should give it a break.😳
-Project Ruqaiya ruination seems to have begun in full swing!😔 Can Jodha Devi shine only at the expense of Ruqaiya?
-Navaratnas to enter one by one? . Or is Todar Mal just mentioned as he was in the Tasneem track. Will we have some real politics along with harem politics and romance please.
-Didn't the teddy bear look like a rishi muni in the precap with his hair, beard and tilak? Oh so angry too ! Like Vishwamitra!😲

Very rightly said Sandhya.
I have bolded the lines.. these are vert true... I am liking Akbar more and more every day. He is really true to his name- Akbar, The Great.
Thank God, Jodha is just accompaning him and not giving ideas.
I am not liking Ruq joining them.
I guess she will meet them in sheik salim's place and 3 of them will come back. Still i just wanted Jalal-Jo :(

Even i do it aunty, If my leg touches anyone by mistake, i touch them and my eyes - kind of asking sorry i guess.
And many here (I am from bangalore) still follow it.
And it might sound lod tradition, even i will not allow my husband to touch my feet.

I agree with you, Bobby, it was a very deeply ingrained sentiment even in the generation before mine and here we are in the 16th century. Why even today some traditional Indian women will not permit it, protesting mujhe paap lagega. It is all linked to the pati parameshwar concept.

See, even today, I never touch anyone with my foot, and if it happens inadvertently, I immediately touch him/her and then carry my hand to my eyes. That is to beg forgiveness for having touched the divine in every human being with my foot.

It is not racism, my dear. If you are out in the sun a lot, day after day, as the banjaras are, even fairskinned people get tanned. Also, people working in, say agriculture or a coal min, e have accumulated grime on them that makes them look darker. They cannot afford hamaams and milk baths.

It is also a fact that roughly 7o% of Indians are between saanwala and dark, and this is spread across all classes. The business giant Aditya Birla was quite dark, and very striking in his looks. All the Ambani men are dark. The number of very fair people like Rajat is quite small

What I didn't like was - Pari & Rajat being made to look darker than their fair ( in Rajat's case, extremely fair selves) to represent the poor banjaaras.

I hate this sort of strange racism ( not going into semantics) that is shown usually, on Indian TV. 😡

My only question is - wherever these two go, people only going to be talking about Shehenshah and Jodha Begum? Coincidental much? 😆

I loved the scene where Jalal questioned the jailor and everything that followed that!
Jodha was spectacular here - the way she stopped the whip from falling on her husband, removed her jewellery and then her follow-up answer to Jalal too 'I'd promised you I wouldn't utter the truth...but, never that I wouldn't save you!'
'Very few Emperors are fortunate to suffer the punishments of their misdeeds' Jalal tells Jodha - I loved Sandhya's explanations on this one👏!

NIGHT -
When I heard of Jalal caring for his wife and her soojha hua pair, I thought it was a bit overdone... but, when I SAW IT ON SCREEN - it was played out so subtly and naturally - the dark visuals, the forest setting, the lake, their soft dialogues. All of it was a pleasure!😳
Not only that, the firewood scene and the follow-up treatments showed the practical/realistic side of an emperor (reminded me of how Hindu kings-in-the-making used to be sent to the Gurukul to teach them and prep them on these handy necessities) I'm sure Jalal must have received ample such training during his BK days too. 😃

AK-SHAREEF
I'm worried about Adham-Shareef-MA plotting! Gawd, I really don't want Jodha getting trapped into something again...

The Banjaran scene was cute too! All those who've seen Prithvi Raj Chauhan will understand what I'm talking about when I say that this sweet break for the leads reminds me of some scenes from the Koteswar Yatra!
My only gripe in all of it is with Jalal's repetitive 'Auraton ko samajhna' and 'Dhakka' lines. I understand its eating at him - but he's said these lines every day this week... I hope the CVs don't make this another 'ghrina'...I'm positively bored...
I definitely welcomed Jodha's sweet retaliation to his auraton waala line this time😛!

RUQAIYYA
Ruqaiyya's actions and departure made no sense to me whatever - even for a possessed blinded brainless woman! A queen is just going to be roaming around in those long-winding routes searching for a commoner? What if he took a detour? There were no roads or specific routes then...just basic directions... God! Was this even necessary?

I'm thoroughly enjoying the show this week because I know we'll be left yearning for such scenes once the leads are back at Agra...
I'm so impatient to know what the whole precap is about... so, Jalal is residing at Todar Mal's place - his 9 gem-to-be or is he residing at a minister's place he already knows?
Interesting twist embedded with the current story! 😃

Rightly said Lashy on Ruq.
I am sure she is going because Ma would have ate her head all day &night.
I too hope this MA-AK-SD & maybe Ruq combination should not bring any more MU's or trouble to Jodha.
As many has mentioned about Jo giving her Jewellary.. will they not have carried some money. they are travelling as commoner's. But that doesnt mean not to carry money.. mistake from CV.
When they showed the paigam in Jail. i was thinking Jalal might ask Jo to read it and later Jo would come to know he cant read/write...
And Shove should be solved... Its getting too much.
And i liked the bon-fire scene too. Its absolutely fine for Jodha not to allow him to touch her feet. Its a tradition and its true. she didnt make any reason.
I also liked when Jalal asking if she got hurt while cooking and Jodha says you noticed it, that means a lot... ooohh my.. Jodha i like your new avtar :)

Bang on aunty,,..
All EK serial.. people vanish and come back in the same speed.
Dead people will be alive or people go to coma for ages and come back all of a sudden,
anything can happen !
hoping Ben doesnt come back one day...

Originally posted by: sashashyam

No, no, the serial cannot do without either Ruqaiya or Mahaam. It will be crippled and the viewers will get diabetes watching only Jodha and Salima, with Rahim thrown in as a bonus, running in the bhalayi-cum-mahaanta stakes.

This said, I understand that Ekta's characters often return from the dead, to be precise from a coma.

He wants, by dint of sheer repetition, to force her to open up and give him an explanation, no matter what it is. How many times has he actually said it so far? Abotu 7 times. Hardly too much by ghrina standards.

No,no ,that is no ministerial residence, Lashy. It is a small room in a modest house, which actually looks like a rural house.

What I want to know is how Jalal got that deep gash across his upper back. He was not lashed by the daroga, so it has to be a fight of some sort. There was some mention of dacoits near the banjara camp. Maybe that was it.

As for Todar Mal, Jalal would naturally have wanted to consult his Finance Minister before the jaziya was annulled. But surely Todar Mal was not his minister at this time, for we have never seen him in the Diwan-e-Khas till now. After all, the bridge building with the Rajputs has just started.

Again a another good post, dont you think the clearing the misunderstanding would be equivalent to Maham being exposed completely like in the film. It would be a difficult one forJjala to ignore especially now Jodha had to put her life at risk, Maham is still a big part of the show,I am worried that this will drag on.
Another thing I am disappointed about is the way they are unable to portray Ruqaiiyas character without having to explicitly showing that she is not as good as Jodha. Polygamy was common those days and especially emperors had a harem. Didn't even shajehan had a harem which did not prevent him falling in love.
it was ok to show her disappointment, being upset but it is taken too far don't you think. may be I am rushing in to conclusions ; Jodha and Jalal will be able to reassure Ruk that she will not be treated differently.

yes I am also concerned about "weight issue",although he looks quite good still, may be he is asked to???

Any woman who could listen to Jalal baring his soul to her that night and still think this needed to have her head examined.

ya. people think tht the letter issue needs to be solved for jalal's realization only, but for me its also for jodha's realization. jodha thought tht night tht jalal came there only for lust. so she also needs to know how actually jalal feels for her. no doubt she had also started feeling for jalal, but still depth of jalal's feelings r unknown to her. obviously, jalal also needs to know tht her feelings towards him r changing & now she will understand him better.

i too have the same point..why they are destroyin rukku's character???😕jalal can also fell in love with jodha bcz of her spark..her own qualities...???🤔
