I wish this Ruqaiya as a character could have been portrayed more gracefully and handled sensitively instead of this run-of-the-mill vamp portrayal.
Since you mention history, Akbar would have never handed his favourite grandson Khurram whom he loved the most to Ruqaiya to be brought up by her if he had lost trust or affection for her. And not having a child Ash, is no proof of the relation having fallen apart.
But I agree with you fully that THIS screecher has to be put in place by Jalal. Wish he does that with grace.
***I agree Sandhya, like I said, she must have mended ways later and accepted it. She always mellows down once Jalal explains to her and she gets convinced, here what I am saying is, the acts of her can make him hurt and can be distanced and she would realise and try to make things better, but not necessarily that, Jalal would go back to his original self with her. And giving his grandson to her, doesn't have to be that, it is only because he had the same feelings, but he always had highest regard for her and she was/is his childhood friend, so for being childless or for many more reasons he could have given his grandchild.
And I am also not for Ruq being shown as screechy, but if you notice even in initial episodes, just to prove her point right and to put others down, she would go to any extent. Being royal doesn't make you good person, (her first meena bazaar, she wasn't good to others, she just wanted to prove that Jalal will come to her irrespective of what she sells or how she does it. And slapping another begum is not classy either, for her all it mattered was her status, Jalal's attention to her. If you are classy (I know that begum stole her jewellery). She is insecured and insecurity causes lot of issues.
And Ruq was always shown as good to Jalal only, but not with others. Not defending any character here, but she has her flaws and she can be negative as well at times when it comes to other woman in her husband's life.
