Sandhya, Ruqu's is good in her own way(till some point) and Jalal and Ruqu's are friends but husband and wife as well. Even though no love from Jalal's side, he cares for her, he is very close to her and as a husband he has done all duties and for him to have physical relationship, he did not require love, if he did then he wouldn't have had so many women in his harem, intact lot of kings at that time didn't marry only because of love, so I really don't think that he loved Ruqu's, but yes Ruqu's loves him, but she loves her status more, probably b'coz she always had all powers, Jalal never said no to her, and her decisions could influence him, so she was never negative, and was grey. But when her status, her love all are getting affected, she is unable to accept it.

Undoubtedly Ruqaiya would have drunk the sewaiyan. Or atleast forced it down the throat of some baandhi, ghulaam or cat or dog. She would have saved Jalal at all costs.

Ruqaiya may be selfish when it comes to anyone, but not to Jalal. As she stated in her letter to Jannat-Aashiyani-Humayun sahib, she has neither known nor cared for anyone other than Jalal.

My comments on Sandhya's post about Ruqs:

This is the problem with Jalal having too many begums, and we start feeling sorry about the underdog (Ruqs) and favoritism becomes a contest. Chocolate bar can be shared by splitting the pieces equally, but can you share the love equally with all begums like the chocolate bar? This is not technically possible because dynamics of each begum and the degree of loving cannot be quantified and measured equally. In this serial, Jodha and Jalal are true soulmates and Cvs want to show us their love story and even in the Bollywood movie other begums were not even shown to avoid this polygamous issue. Maybe if Cvs makes an serial on Ruqaiya, we will get to see her in better light. I thought that Smiley was out because she looked too young in the casting with Rajat and Karijat location did not suit her needs according to the old news article. I prefer Lavina portraying Ruqs character, and thank god we live in an era where we mostly are monogamous and have one life partner and have no competition.

The problem is the other woman factor which actually shd not apply. Whether hindu or muslim - till the law was passed both religions did let multiple wives for men and this was not something new especially in a royal household. Ruqu or Jodha neither can claim exclusive rights on Jalal and nor can Jalal give either exclusive rights. This has a 3 point perspective - How Ruqu accepts Jodha and yet maintains her space? - How Jodha makes her space and yet does not interfere in Ruqu's space? And how Jalal ensures that both his wives have their space with him? Abb yahan all 3 need to make the effort - and neither Ruqu nor Jodha shd impinge on what the other has. And Jalal needs to ensure that one will not loose her space becoz of the space he has given to the other. Abhi tak Jalal has ensured this and I do believe that he will do so in the future. But if Ruqu does impinge on Jodha's space with he will move swiftly just as he did with the hojra issue.

I know in future Jalal would not spurn a relationship for the other, but the thing is he always said that he has no heart and can't love anyone, and ruqu believed it blindly, where in future when she would come to know that she, all her life believed a lie and that so from her beloved one, she will be totally devastated.. But one can't help as Jalal can't generate the feelings own whichfor ruku he has for Jodha..

Sandhya look at the reverse situation in the case of Draupadi in Mahabharat. There she was wedded to Arjun and having given him her heart too and ended up marrying all the 5 brothers and having to treat them equally!!! Is it even possible for humans???
