The departed souls of Jalal and Jodha have put their seal on this moment as the night when both lost sleep, the last night when there was a disconnect between them.

The show has set up everyone around them as stooges to get Ja and Jo to confront their feelings.Why even Jalal has been made a stooge Hamida Banu turned up to advise Jalal that he is - alone, isolated, without anyone to have a heart to heart talk with. Not the best bedtime story to tell your son. Jalal smirked at his own misfortune that kept him at the pinnacle of power and corrupted everyone else. To highlight this, Ruqaiya has recently turned into a power hungry harem manipulator. Her audha. Her need to control every begum has made this her only means to every end. Benazir must be made a begum so that Ruqaiya can supervise her sleeping arrangements? Whatever.

Rajat's Jalal makes me believe the strange vulnerability of this powerful man. I doubt any actor I know can wrestle so watch-ably with the truth that's beginning to tantalise and torment him - is it possible? Is it really possible that Jodha holds the key to whatever it is that's troubling him. Even the sight of her leaving the hojra made him take her straight back. She's not going any where! She has my heart and I need it.

Jodha, on the other hand wants to protect the whole man, heart and all. Not much point admitting to love posthumously. So she is focused on being the sentinel who guards what's most precious. The man's life. While viewers wait for her to show signs of wanting romance with the Shahenshah, she demurs and even switches off when the parrot draws her card. The parrot caught the right vibe and agreed with her mission to keep an eye on the current danger.

Monday's precap finally allows Jodha to admit that she was hurt by Jalal's remarks about not setting foot in her space... while being besotted by her aura. When saving a life and dying in the process, one is allowed some last words and dramatic gestures. This is a medieval royal love story after all. Can't wait!

The line below depicts Jalal's condition so well, excellent post!
Even the sight of her leaving the hojra made him take her straight back. She's not going any where! She has my heart and I need it.

Wow! very beautifully written - u have really captured the emotional turmoil of both Jalal and Jodha.

When Jalal saw Jodha leaving the hojra, the first thing that struck him was that she might be leaving him for good and going back to Amer, just like she had wanted to after the MC track. He didn't want to talk to her as he was very angry and flustered that he had not found any proof against Ben and so had come to the conclusion Jodha was lying out of jealousy. But he needed to know also whether she was really leaving him. There was so much torture on his face and in his voice as he asked her this question. He must have heaved a sigh of relief that she wasn't going anywhere.

He couldn't even let her change her room. First because he didn't want her to think he was behind the room shifting. Secondly, he couldn't bear to see her in anguish. And perhaps, just perhaps, he wanted her closeby so that he could continue to at least see her. If Ruqu had packed her off to some remote corner of the harem, he would not be able to see her without a valid excuse.

As for Monday, well I have my doubts if the precap will play out in its exactness and this doubt comes from History - unless ofcourse EK and her team plan to rewrite history for the TRP aunties!!!

Thank you guys, for all your kind words. Rajat and Paridhi make seeing their characters more clearly a much easier job. I was so impressed with that scene where Jalal takes hold of Jodha gently by the shoulder and leads her back to her hojra. Paridhi in the scenes today was very effective in showing how Jodha is bringing her side of the equation to the JoJa Jodi.

He handled the room change/Unchange quite cleverly. Let her know that he was hurt, let Ruq know that he was capable of ignoring Jodha (as if). Now Jodha is going to let him know a few things. But I hope it ends with the dramatic poison drinking and they can then move on to stage 2.

Historical fiction, yes. I'm not claiming any of this as fact.

I would prefer a slightly less dramatic end to this and if this precap is another dream, then...aren't we all getting tired of dream seconds followed by actual seconds...
