Thanks again preeti for sharing these details in IF .It so sad to see the state the serial is into.i could never understand the reason they chose to follow twentieth wife.it's not only because its a fiction but also the premise is entirely different from ja.ja should have been about jodha and akbar.i have no problem in them introducing salim but it should have been done later without leaps and especially not this way.The love and respect salim had for his parents should definitely have been showcased.Akbars story in itself fascinating enough and if they need villains also its surplus .Y should they need to do this nr and kill the essence of ja is beyond my understanding. As a loyal fan its heartbreaking.

Thank you prav for such thoughtful comments. I could not agree with you more. Cannot understand why they pursued this route. This show had so much potential

Dear Preeti
Thank you so much for sharing your observations from your personal reading of the Jehangirnama here. 🤗

I am in a dilemma here because I know historical discussions are not allowed but your post is so moving that I am unable to stay mum either. 😕

Last year when I started watching JA, it was such an interesting story and so true to life - well almost, but the NR was added like trimmings on top and was not the main dish itself. It was so engaging that it drew me to read more about Mughal and Rajput history and find out more and more about the people and the events shown. It gave me a new hobby that I am so passionate about - reading and sharing thoughts on history with like-minded friends. 😊

Suddenly one day, the JA I knew and loved with a fanatic zeal ceased to exist and was replaced by pulp fiction that is perhaps C-grade in Bollywood terminology.

The life story of Akbar and his MUZ is so fascinating in itself and so full of twists and turns and villains of all hues and shapes that NR was absolutely NOT required. And leaps were just a ridiculous thought.

Why the story had to shift its focus from JA to SA is beyond anyone's understanding. Esp when the show was doing well. 🤢

No historical chronicle gives so much importance to Ruqaiyya Sultan Begum as this JA 2.0. And if she had to be given importance or shown to be the padshah begum or shown to be close to Salim, all of it could have been done in a nice, positive manner too. Ekta has both mutilated history as well as made a mockery of entertainment also by giving negativity filled tracks.

Such a cheap fictional show cannot harm Akbar, MUZ and Salim's image or the purity of their relationship. Wherever they are, they will continue to be loved and respected by all and their story will be passed down to generations to come through historical chronicles, paintings, architectural vignettes, folk songs/stories, etc.

Thanks again Preeti for a wonderful post that made my day extra special!

This is a much needed post!!
I really doubt if the CVs have done their home work of researching the whole "authentic" Jahangirnama or Akbarnama. Hence, they are twisting and turning every relationship into their favour to provide their precious TRP masala. I think they have just superficially brushed through those records only to know the names of the people of Mughal household and not their details.

WOW Radhika, you have summed up the JA journey perfectly. The lines in red are going to be my take away message. As my frustration rises I will try to remember the above words

Perfect! Thanks

Fantastic post Priya..
There is no doubt what MUZ meant to Salim. .and why just MUZ, even Jalal was so much respected by Salim. .but our serial is following 20 th wife because it suits them. ..that novel has a lot of booze, sex, drugs and cat fights and EK loves it. ..and it does not cost much either. ..
20th wife is a complete fiction and in it a liberal man like AF is shown opposing jizyah. .what to say. ..

In reality Salim completed his father's tomb in Sikandara beautifully and built a beautiful and a very big tomb for his mother close by. ..Some thing which no mughal emperor has done for his mother not even Jalal for HB..I wonder how will JA serial show all this. .

Yes I have left this forum and is less and less on twitter because I have completely quit JA. ..The lies that it has been propagating are beyond me now. ..
