I agree with you somewhat, so much positivity in these recent episodes that Ben has become more tolerable for me also.
You are so right about Jalal, there is a mystery about him and that's what attracts me to this character also. I can never figure out what's in his jehen...On the contrast Jodha is open book, no wonder they compliment each other so well/
SD is going to do something about getting Jodha for himself. Not sure if that's the track where we will see jealous Jalal..
Love confession I feel is still far away, abhi bahut idiotic tracks baki hai..

A charming and affectionate analysis, Meghana, and one can see how relieved and happy and hopeful you are about the latest changes in Jodha. I agree with almost all that you have noted here, bar only one point in the Salima-Hamida scene,but that is a key point.

It is true that there is a 180 degrees shift from the Jodha of the tel maalish days to the present one, as you have brought out, and Jodha now wants to assert her status as a begum too. But she could not have done that vis a vis Ruqaiya today without descending to an undignified catfight. It was good that she left gracefully, with her dignity intact, and of course Ruqaiya was appallingly rude.

Jalal would never interfere when 2 women fight over him - not that Jodha was fighting here - he enjoys it. Moreover, the anger against Jodha is still there within him, lurking in the wings.Whence the oblique barb directed at Jodha while being ostensibly meant for Ruqaiya I know that you are really worried about me, you are not just doing it for show. It registers, and there a flicker of hurt in Jodha's eyes.

The main change in Jodha of late it that no matter what Jalal does or how he behaves with her, she does not fume and rage as she used to do. She might wipe away a surreptitious tear, as she did today, but she does not flag in her single minded focus on protecting his life, and as she herself confesses today, she is never upset with him and she continues to fret about his safety.

Baby steps,but she will get there!

Now for where I differ from you. I found what Salima tells Hamida - that they should not interfere in the Jalal-Benazir affairs as Jodha was tackling it energetically and she should get the full credit with Jalal for striving so hard to save his life - so stupid as to take one's breath away.

Here is a vishkanya who will look for every opportunity to come close to the Shahenshah and assassinate him,, guards or no guards. Jodha is not a sarvavyapi, so how can she make sure she is around every single time the GJ (ghrinit jantu) makes yet another attempt? Instead of tackling the matter head on, and Hamida Banu is the only one who can do so by right, Salima wants her to back off so that Jodha can get all the credit for trying to protect him. Now how irresponsible and idiotic is that ?

Let us hope they at least manage to exploit the poisoned well revelation properly.

As for Adham Khan, there has to be more to his sudden descent on Benazir than his proclivity for her tribe (of baandis). I suspect he is going to try and encourage the GJ on to eliminate Jalal, with the promise that she can then become the Malika thru him! Or else he might ask her to kill Jalal, and offer to help free Abul Mali in return for that.

We all feel jealous and insecure but if we can't push the demon down then its surely going to drive our beloved away and this is exactly what is happening with Ruqaiya. Though Jalal, the Shehenshah will always keep her in high regards ultimately she is going to lose Jalal,her husband if she fails to overcome her insecurities and for any woman this is a nightmare for sure!. I will always feel bad for her when Jalal lets her know this bitter truth that his heart which has always been non-existent for her now belongs to Jodha.

As for Jodha, she is very close and yet so far from falling in love with him but at the end of this epic story she is going to prove herself by fulfilling all the six criterias of Bhartruhari's famous 'Karyeshu Dasi, Karneshu Mantri..' duties of a Dharmapatni 😉 . But as Adiana rightly said Jalal has already given her all the love he can offer and now she has to claim her wifely rights on her own as even Jalal cannot force her to do so. She should feel the passion, that craving for her soulmate first and then complain about Jalal and Ruqaiya. Jalal's smirk when Ruqaiya and Jodha were all charged for a cat-fight made me pity him! 😆 . This man gets everything from his wives except what he craves for! If Ruqaiya continues her jealousy and Jodha manages to overcome her fears of falling for him then I must say Fuller rightly said 'A man's best fortune or his worst is his wife' 😉.

You have brought out some really good points. Jalal certainly is not getting the love he desires from his hazaar begum. For the first time in life he had chest pains, figured out the reason for chest pain, alas got a dhakka in return!
You are also right about Jodha figuring out her feelings and then fighting for her rights. Jalal is unable to shield Jodha completely because she does not consider him as a husband - hence the hold back..Jodha is not completely aware of her feelings so walked out gracefully when Ruqu asked her to..But soon both JaJo will be demanding their rights on each other. I for sure am waiting Jalal who jamofies haqq on Jodha, that is a treat to watch always.
Just like you I always have loved Ruqu. Mainly because she is so outright frank. I also wrote in one of my post as to how she does not even trust Jalal who has assured her many times the khaas audha. This insecurity as you correctly pointed out will push Jalal more towards Jodha, specially when he sees Jodha who is so selfless...

The letter is more about freeing Abu Mali then killing Jalal. I thinking killing Jalal is still via Ben's bite, dont think this bahar ka aadmi has anything to do with that.

Sandhya, I figured it out. You are right her saliva and blood are both poisonous. The well gets poisonous because of a cut she received and her blood poisoned the water. The munshi who dies was because of saliva poison. But, when Ben jumped in the pond she closed her mouth tight.😆 So no saliva and no blood to poison the royal pond or hamam..
