u r right..he thought as a king first like he did in jodhas case also..had he thought like a father he would never have gotten jodha married to jalal, also in shivanis case he wanted what he thought was best for her...anyhow how can shivani know that she will never be happy with mirza only that karigar...

If it were today, Bharmal could have gotten her married, but still I would face scrutiny, imagine 16th century. Bharmal should have sent Tej somewhere as someone else as pointed ,and requested him to see his point of view. If Tej would have been an honorable man,he would have gone away seeing a father's plea. About Mirza Hakim, I would ask Shivani her opinion. Criticizing only creates resentment, and apologized to her for slapping her. There is a rule to get people on your side, the only that way to show her the pro and con of the repercussion of her decisions. Bharmal should have sat down and explained. As for Mirza Hakim's marriage decision, he should have left it to Shivani. He should explained to her if she elopes or marries her lover, the shame and humiliation her father would have gone through. if i were Shivani , i would go ahead with the marriage . I think I would be mature enough to understand what my action could do.

he failed as a father as he tried to marry his daughter against her will...and well...obviously his upbringing will b questioned now that shivani has eloped , and also as he didn't think of the consequences of what his daughter jodha would have to face in her sasural if this turned out badly 😕
he passed as a good dad...as he cared for his daughter nd wanted her to have a good lifehe failed miserably as a father-in-law. no comments on thathe failed as a Mughal loyal...as a mansabdarand if I was in his place...I would first try to drill sense into shivani...and if she were still adamant...then I would try my very best to make that tejvant or whatever his name is 😆 come to a much better, wealthier and respectable position ( as she's a princess and the emperor's saali sahiba 😆 ) and only then marry them off!ubtill then I would support them throughout instead of rushing into a wounded tigers mouth 😉 😆failed as a daddy and mansabdar but passed as a kingI guess you just cant appease 'em allps - *phew* 😆this was my POV 😳nice post disha

ditto Also, As a king Bharmal must have arrested Tej for trying to meet the princess in secret and put him in jail for the next 5 years atleast till Shivaani settles.
He shouldn't have sought a bali-bakra in the Mughal family where the respect and life of the first daughter is at stake, even if it fell into his lap. He SHOULD have told Jodha about it.

Bang on Syy! I would have done the same too. Moreover,I place my dad ahead of everyone else in my life. No man can EVER be more important than him for me. (Dont look at me as though I have not fallen in love and all. 😆 ) But I understand the shame it would bring to my family if i simply run off with some guy I supposedly "love" 😕This is 16th century that too,I cant even imagine what Bhaarmal must have gone through 😲
That is a very good solution Yukthi! I would have probably done the same too! But that "prick" would have always been there within Bhaarmal, that Tej isn't "royal blood" 😳
no...it was edited before you quoted it 😆
