He Did what any father would do in a situation like this, he wanted the best for his child.
Yes he was wrong in hiding the truth, he could have spare everyone a lot of hurt and humilation. He put his want ahead of his elder daughter marriage and family.
Shivani took the coward way out, she had the option of rejecting this proposal or even talking to her BIL or sister. I always believe if a man truly love and respect you he will come to the door and knock, he will never sneak in. Show some confident.
In this whole track i was disappointed in Jodha Family and mostly so Shavani.

i feel jodha and sukanya were more matured than shivani
so he did not need to explain it to them about this matter
but he had to slap shivani to get his point across
yet she did not understand it and eloped with tejwant
may be he had thought if he married her off to the mughals
she would have accepted the marriage and forgot tejwant
so for a father he did what he could do for his daughter
but i feel he should have talked to jodha once

Bharmal has no doubt failed big time in serving Mughal Sultenate but he has failed as a father too! I am not saying it is wrong to marry off your girl to someone else when she is not able to understand that the one whom she loves cannot provide her all those luxuries and comfort her father had provided her till date(But again it does not matter to some people when they are ready to sacrifice all the comforts!) but he clearly failed to analyze the whole situation. He is not a common man, an experienced king with knowledge of politics even more than Jalal! And as a father if he is right in hiding the fact that Shivani loves a Kaarigar which is a shame for their pride then he is entirely wrong in putting Jodha's life at stake for the second time! He has second time sacrificed Jodha's pride, her happiness to save Amer and himself. If he is right as a father then what about Jodha? Parents can't be partial towards their children. What if Mughals were rude and monstrous towards Jodha from the day she stepped in Agra ? It is her good luck that she did not face any humiliation being a Hindu in a household of Mughals but what if Jalal was really Jallad with her in private ? To sacrifice a daughter again for your other child and for your pride is a shameless thing for a father. Jodha has survived till date because it is her stubbornness and truthfulness which helped her not being victim of circumstances in Agra. If Jalal and Hamida were not very fond of her and partial towards her like Bharmal, her life would have become hell after this insult to Mughals.

dishu I understand that from a father's POV bharmal is innocent, but it doesn't lessen what a grave thing he has committed.. and if just as he is a helpless father then he can be pardoned then most of the criminals in our country should also be forgiven without meting out any punishment on them..
Because no people is bad by birth and most of the crimes happen at a spurn of moment, at a strike of anger, rage, emotions, those who robber banks, steals from houses should also be forgiven as they need money to survive so they did this, so why we complain to police to find them out???

And from this POV sujamal also should be pardoned as what ever he did , did out of his de-controlled emotions. The throne was rightfully his because his father was the former king, and he knew it, no body broke his misconception, and jo also supported sujamal. then why he had to exile from amer???why he is still on a run???

Moreover bharmal ji is not only guilty to hakim but also to shahensha of mughal empire, when Jalal asked jodha to punish bakshi, she forgave her but Jalal as an emperor and not as a brother had to give her some punishment, which still holds on BB very much, so whether hakim forgives or not that none of Jalal's business, as an emperor he needs to do justice to all, hakim can say to forgive but can't emotionally blackmail Jalal.. Then why BB is still not forgiven, is the love between a guy and a gal only true and exists, does Jalal not love BB as a sister, is she not to him as his child as Jodha referred, I hate when some one compartmentalize love and compare them all and proclaims that there is only one kind of love exists that is love between a guy and a gal and every other love takes back burner..

when Jalal is sitting on the throne, he is the protector of law as well, like today's judge of courts, he/she have to give the verdict impartially whether the accused is his/her some close one or not, have to do justice going beyond all kind of emotional attachment and relations, it's bitter but truth,,then only the justice will be justifiable.

Having said so long, I want to add, I'm hating hating this track, even Jalal's resurrection is not enough to make me like this track, after butchering every single true historical character of agra, and I want to add Maham anga and adham khan too, maham was wazir-e-alia but she doesn't do anything regarding the empire and it's well being always peeping, plotting, scheming, planning stooping low lower lowest each day and adham khan, he was rebellious, power hungry, conspirator, hot-headed but not a chap like who runs after women flesh that so of maid class.. Cvs are now after the amer and the first straw is raja bharmal..😡😡
