Hi Shyamala. With regards MA overreaching herself, as they say in tamil, pala naal kallan oru naal aapadavaan. That is her kissa. Coming to an Emperor's justice - TE has my complete sympathy in this situation since he is struck in a very hard place thanks to MH, Shivani, Ma, and his 2 khaas begums! Yes Shivani deserves to be punished and so does her lover, yet the msg this would send to the ppl is that the cannot love or if you do then you shd sacrifice it for family izzat. There is a need to punish a misdemanour yet not condemn love and lovers. Wonder how justice will be done! One very interesting possibility - both the lovers are sentenced to death by 'deewar mei chunwaana' and once the last brick is laid Jalal can get the lovers to be sent far away where they wount be found. Yes TE takes it on his head of being heartless but he did this many times - seemed heartless when actually was being kind. This would satisfy justice all round. Wonder how the team at EK deals with this. As for la grande amor - EK is catering to aunties who may sing songs of Radha Krishna but who have no clue of la grand amor hence do not understand Jayadeva's kritis!

Loved it Aunty, especially the last para 😉. It is a golden rule of Indian Cinema/Television that one has to go bonkers when in love. Two sensible individuals can never fall in love and they do by chance then that is not called epic love! I don't understand why love has to be blind? it can be wise also!
So Jalal's grey cells finally activated a bit. But was it the after effect of all the bashing Zee got from callers or Ekta and team genuinely felt the need the wake up our sleeping beauty? Though he used his brains today I will not say that the old Jalal is back as he still cant sense the danger lurking around every bend when it comes to Benazir and Abul Mali. Despite of the warnings from Hakim and Jodha he is still in Jaise The condition and I really hope he proves me wrong that his announcement of the wedding with Benazir is not just to rile up Jodha. And like Mrityunjay, even the RangRasiya lead makes very much sense and is far away from those serial male leads and victims of heroine-giri whose footsteps Jalal is following.
Though Jalal and Jodha snatched the show from Ruqu and Maham today, I loved these two ladies more than the leads. Maham was just unfortunate today not to realise that Jalal can sense Jodha's innocence from that last letter of Shivani if he thinks wisely. This lady surely is cunning and thats why Jalal never doubts her despite of all the kaands she has done. Even if Shivani returns and confesses everything to save her skin, nobody will believe that Maham instigated her. On the other hand Ruqaiya was bang on and I loved that Shikari and Hirani metaphor but she missed some simple points in her agony by bringing back the narnaal incident. If Jalal ever sensed that Jodha tried to kill him and she deliberately removed the gun-powder he would never have pampered her like he did in Amer, and trying to instigate him against Jodha by using this trick will lower Ruqu in eyes of Jalal. But she is the one who can show him mirror and I will always feel bad for her as at the end of this so called epic love story she will turn into a vamp due to her love-cum-possessiveness for Jalal.
Again nothing is new in this blame Amer Family track as we know when CVs are running out of ideas try the repeated formulas and this is again a merry-go-round of MC track only difference is the Khauf-E-Jalal(😆) and 'Zinda Jala Denge' thing as he is clearly siding Jodha this time. And you are right except Sukanya no one from Amerians was really worried about the missing bride and queen! Is Mainavati already off to consult Shaguni Bai ? or Shaguni herself warned her in advance not to attend the wedding as her daughter is all set to become a runaway bride 😛

I was so relieved when Jalal took a decision, based on logic and not on blind trust. Sort of re-assuring us,that the good old Jalal still exists, buried deep within somewhere.
I guess the CVs have taken into account whatever we suggested,so Im hoping that they let Jalal himself apply logic on the Benazir issue, instead of being saved by someone else's applied logics, because at the end of the day,he is ,afterall, the mighty Jalaluddin Mohammad, the Emperor of Hindustan.

I liked Ruqaiya in yesterday's episode. She is indirectly resurrecting,Jalal's hibernating dimaag.

P.S : Both the ladies Paridhi and Lavina were very good yesterday! 👏 I liked Pari's performance in the scene where she gets out of the paalkhi. Very raw. Lavina's performance was also very good,in the scene with Rajat yesterday. And as for Rajat, needless to say,its obvious that he was good. He always is. 😆

So am I, Munni and Mandy.. Just looking at her makes one feel peaceful. Jalal should have made her his real begum, uski zindagi ban jaati.

But have you both noticed one thing? Salima is a uni-expression character. She always looks exactly the same whether she is advising Jalal about the false pregnancy, cuddling Rahim, or talking to Ruqaiya. But because the character is so blindingly positive, one does not mind.

As for Jalal, never mind the bashers. We are quite capable of defending him, and Rajat too. Take a look at me pulling Lashy's ears for her comparison of Ashwini and Rajat. 😉You will enjoy it!

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!! How can you say anything such thing, Lashy dear? It is as well for you that you are safely out of my reach!

Ashwini as Mahaam is a ham of the first order most of the time. I have watched her in other shows intermittently, and she is always the same, OTT with a vengeance, rolling her eyes and gnashing her teeth. When she is plotting something, subtlety is banished and her malice and hatred hit you in the face and knock you over.

She never lacks for forcefulness, and I agree that she is doing very well as Mahaam. But that is because this Mahaam is sketched in very broad strokes, and that suits Ashwini's trademark style for negative roles. The eyebrow stunt that you have cited and a few other such instances are exceptions to the rule. I agree that she brings a lot of well timed comic relief to her scenes with Javeda, for she is a versatile performer who, sadly, always gets slotted in relentlessly negative roles. But I used to watch the early CID, in the 1999-2002 period, and she brought a great deal of sincerity and conviction to her role as Inspector Asha. So it is not her fault, but that of the typecasting.

The two scenes so far where she really stood out was the one where she cradles Jalal in her arms after he finds out about Bakshi Banu's treachery, the earlier one where she reveals to us alone, aftere denying it to Adham, that it was she who used the dature ka ark. The latter gave me goose pimples. However, I do not think she could have brought out the ascetic, brooding, and occasionally violent, monk-like negativity of Ila Arun's Mahaam Anga in the film.

To compare her, even at her best, with the infinitely subtle, layered performances that Rajat at his best can conjure up - the micrometer shifts of expression, the shades of feeling that appear in his eyes and are gone in an instant, the tonalities of his voice, the hidden meanings hinted at in his smile - is sheer blasphemy. Kindly desist, there is a dear girl!

I might well be hauled up for making comparisons between the actors, but I could not let that pass without comment!

komal...Ashwini is par brilliance...she outshines everyone in the cast acting wise...yup I'm very heavy heartedly including my RT in the cast too...(he does come a close second though😳)

Saw that scene in the temple where she's eavesdropping ...and how just one of her eyebrows goes up in alarm as she hits that eureka moment...I'd forgotten about the scene and had started trying that in the mirror instead...😉

Again her scenes with Javeda make little sense...but her expressions make it totally worth watching

Plus, if not for the bed sheets, she'd be a beautiful villain too😉 And her Urdu diction is better than anyone else's in the show
