I haven't watched the episode last night & neither do I intend to watch JA the remaining nights of this week or until this whole track finishes.

I am afraid that that is what is to happen- Jalal will let them off or proclaim that it is the most fitting sazaa for Raja Bhaarmal to have such a son-in-law as Tejvant. That this is the fitting reply to give to such a gunaah-e-azeem, but anyone with half a brain - Which automatically excludes Jodha ( and which includes the likes of us , Maham & Ruqaiyya) will KNOW that this was done only for his beloved Jodha Begum!!

And this makes me so angry for so many reasons!! 😡

P.S. Please don't leave. I will eat my hats & do a dance if this does not happen, but I've a very strong feeling since the spoiler for this track came out, that this IS precisely the result of this totally un-necessary & asinine track. 😭

My dear.

Thank you so much; such informed praise is always valuable. I am not of the same view as you are - I think that a ruler cannot afford to be so forgiving of grave trespasses; remember Prithviraj Chauhan and what he did with Mohammed Ghori and its awful consequences for Prithviraj's subjects?. But that does not matter; I am glad you wrote in at long last with your comments.

As for Jodha and Jalal, I have since revised the last part of this post, and it now reads as follows. See how you like or do not like it. I do not seek perfection, my dear, but more and more this one does not ring true as a real love story at all. .

If that happens, folks, you can heave a sigh of relief, for I am out of here.

I was prepared for this amar prem being unbalanced, with Jalal as the lover and Jodha as the beloved. Good for her, and I never thought her capable of any great romantic passion any way. For Jodha, no man will come ahead of her Ameri parivaar.

But a man of straw, a Shahenshah who is prepared to stand insaaf on its head because he cannot see Jodha weep, would turn me off for good. I despise men who become like poodles when they fall in love.

Moreover, as Sandhya pointed out elsewhere, Jalal's grey cells might have functi0ned this once, but only because it concerned Jodha, like the time when he spotted the dirt under the murdered Hakima's nails. They do not seem to work in any other context, and Sharifuddin in the kaal kotri is better informed about the dangers threatening Jalal than he is.

Moreover, this yoyo exercise, with one of the two leads alternating as the idiot in residence, is beginning to be tiring. And an anaemic, oscillating relationship, that seems to anchored in the man's weakness, not his strength, and the woman's blindness, does not seem, at least to me, to be the stuff of epic romance.

This will very likely sound sacrilegious to the 98% here who are now in ecstasies over The Look (everything about Jalal and Jodha seems to need capitalisation these days: The Shove, The Handhold, and now The Look!) that a tearful, departing Jodha, and a Jalal trying hard to look ruthless and ending up looking as it he was made of soft marzipan, exchanged last night.

But give me Viraf Patel's Mrityunjay in Ek Boond Ishq, and his Tara any day! The screen is literally lit up by their deep, total emotional dependence on each other, and their desperate caring for each other. No one else exists for either of them. That is le grand amour, not this amar prem that is forever in the making. Alas, Viraf is reportedly quitting that show soon for Bollywood. Good things, it seems, never last!

I am a silent reader reading your posts with interest as you always seem to give a different perspective sometimes even cynical or clinical to JA's actions. I can understand Jalal's pardon in Shivani's case if it happens and even Jodha's forgiveness with Bakshi Bano as JA are being compassionate for their mistakes. Both Bakshi Bano and Shivani made mistakes in hurting their families for the sake of keeping their love and selfish nature. To err is human, to forgive is divine isn't it, especially if the intent is not to kill anyone. I think 'to be humane' and 'knowing to trust and respect' is an essential component of love for JA's eventual amar prem progression.

Please aunty continue writing your posts even if JA don't meet your expectations to be perfect.

Yes, but you see Abhi, as was made clear during the Smiley phase, it is Jalal who always says he hates the word mohabbat, and is glad that their relationship is not based on that. At that time, it was shown that Ruqaiya loves Jalal, but is afraid to let him know it and very likely put him off. Since then, the character of Ruqaiya has changed, but this basic premise should still stand.

For me the problem is not with this, but with the nature of the Jalal-Jodha relationship. After you read this post, I have revised the last part as follows. See how much you like it, or do not like it.

I am glad you are with me on the trust vs proof issue.

Shyamala.. Yes it was not blind trust Jalaal has on Jodha, but the evidence showed him, that Jodha is innocent & doesn't know anything about Shivani love...

Yes Ruqu questions are right, even Jalaal knows that, he is chasing jodha, that's why he didn't answer her..

But will Ruqu able to answer Jalaal questions ?

Ruqu allways gave importance to the Jalaal - Shahansha. not the husband Jalaal ? Will she love him & care for him only leaving her auda ? He still doesn't have that emotional connect with Ruqu, who is his best friend & spend more than 10 years together ..

Now Ruqu started seeing JJ relationship particularly from Jalaal's side. Waiting to see will jalaal bring back shivani-tejvir and what BM punishment...

None as of today, that was just an expression. But if it amuses you I will wear as many as you like & finish the spectacle with a dance too! 😉

Shyamala, even though Jalal's grey cells worked, but as you said, it is not for long, nor his anger will last long. I so wish that he stays firm on his ground to punish Shivani and that Kaarigar (who is good for nothing) and do not hear pleas from Jodha or HB (I am sure, when it comes to Jo and her clan, even HB goes blind), they really need to be punished for insulting the sultanate and also for hurting Mirza. I will be surprised if it happens, and Jodha trying to explain Jalal?? what does she expect, after her elopment, that she should be forgiven? for all "masoom" her sister is!
And even I watch Ek Boond Ishq at times, and their affection and care towards each other is beyond other emotions, when it comes to each other, their priorities are only each other. I don't say that it has to be the same all the time, but other person cares for you, we need to reciprocate with same care and respect, definitely not like "Jodha", as for her "Amer" comes first.

I missed seeing the old Ruqu episodes... May be Ruqu loves jalaal, but coudln't express her love, as she knew Jalaal doesn't believe in love & says he doesn't have a heart..But I still feel JaRuq relationship is more of friendship & less of wife-husband..

As far as JJ relationship, I still feel love story doesn't started yet, but we can see much more feelings from Jalaal side, while Jodha still disappoints & still in confused stage..Hope CVS show love story from Jodha side also when actual story starts..Now CVS are focusing on twists & maham rather than JJ relationship... ... Hops CVS show emotional bonding between JJ which should be the base of epic love story...

Before Ruqu tells her love to Jalaal, that time JJ would be in love & Jalaal will swing between Ruqu-Jodha...

Shymala Ji, I love to read your posts. Your knowledge of history is impeccable. Your understanding of the dynamics in the serial and the way you you break it down for lesser gifted mortals like us is a joy to read.
I believe that the makers of the serial have decided to resurrect Jalal's intelligence. The entire Jalal-Ruq conversation was very instructive. It seemed as if they wanted Ruq to raise all those questions that the audience has been asking about Jalal's decision making ability.
And the way he answered that no one can fool the emperor of Hindustan, it seems as if he was speaking not to Ruq but to the audience, as if the Ben track is some sort of devious scheme in his mind and for the audience to have patience.
