Friends, I am in no mood to write any kind of lengthy thesis today on the episode yesterday. It was just more of the same thing. Here in three sentences is what happened:
1. Jodha was desperately praying to kanha for help on two things: one, to save the life of Jalal from all evil goings-on - and two, for clarity on just what she was beginning to feel for Jalal (ever after this Ben came into his life). Meanwhile Jalal, Adham and even Hakim were at the men-only jashn "luft utao-ing" Ben's sinuous dancing. As Jodha prayed harder, the other men left the jashn, and Ben came closer and closer to Jalal caressing him, but suddenly the drunken Jalal started seeing Jodha in that place instead of Ben, and all his anger at being spurned that night by Jodha returned ... so he abruptly pushed away Ben thinking he was throwing out Jodha. Later Maham was seen consoling Ben that she should continue to try for more opportunities to supplant Jodha in Jalal's life.
2. Hakim met Jodha in the garden and they both came across a dead snake - whereupon the conversation turned to how Abul Mali usually bred vishkanyas and we had a full history lesson about vishkanya breeding with flashbacks of Ben. Jodha and Hakim left wondering which vishkanya Abum Mali may have introduced in Agra!
3. Hakim asked Jodha for her decision on his marriage with Shivani. She said her father needed to be consulted. She also told Hamida about this issue and a thrilled Hamida agreed her father must be consulted first after which Jalal also should be told. All were very happy except no one thought of asking Shivani. In the precap, Bharmal was seen as arrived at the Diwan-e-Khas where a full range of discussions were taking place on this subject!
My comments on the episode: No progress at all on the Jodha-Jalal story. Jalal still looks like a prize ass, who knows nothing and is waiting to be saved by Jodha. Jodha looks tantalizingly close to clues but does not have the acuity to solve them. There is no sign of the spurning being forgotten or of Maham letting up. Ben continues to stay on advised by Maham to keep trying. The only big movement this week has been the release of Adham, the jewel of Agra. (And I hope now Kanha can save Ekta!)
Those who wish to stop watching and go to other shows ... please do so without wasting any more time!
