TE / CVs / EK - The thought process?!??!

Well the last 2 weeks have been like a see-saw. There are too many mixed signals and nothing seems to make sense. Some of us are having the fear that the show is going the way of all soaps with making the heroine's halo bigger and brighter and the hero being made an idiot (The Serial siddha adhikaar as presented by EK herself when she entered the serial arena way back) and some others are cheering on a supposed feminist demolition of an alpha male. And those who are of the opinion that the thinking male has vanished are using the Tasneen kissa as the point of reference.
I, for one, am clueless!!! There are a lot of indicators that I do see but as of now I do not know what they indicate. One reason for the current week's drag that I realised was the makers want to present a big bang for the New Year's day. To ensure that 31st and 1st gets maximum view the current track has been dragged for an unnecessary length. Also the news that the lead actor having hurt himself, which must have happened last week on Thursday or Friday would have also made the makers slow things down.

So in the background of all these I am trying to understand what I have seen these last 2 weeks.

Firstly - TE making his Chudail Jealous - enough has been said on this. The man had not done anything on this front until the night he came up with the wild idea of Meena Bazaar - He had got his 1st indication that his Chudail was affected by his proximity to Burinazar just then. Since the Meena Bazaar, he has missed no chance to Jalao his Chudail and has left no stone unturned to make her go his favorite color. So what happened to his sense of insult from "THE NIGHT"? I will come to this later.

Secondly - TE's ability to handle situations - The Tasneem kissa - So there are ppl who think that TE had no game plan - I think there was a post here by myviewprem or someone which explains TE's thinking during the Tasneem kissa. Pls do read it if you can. Will try and post the link here later. To my mind TE was always incharge his only problem was that the reaction which he wanted from the ppl was not happening fast enough and Jodha's suggestion only provided him with the means to get said reaction from the masses at a faster speed.

Thirdly - MA and her uksaoing and TE falling for it - All seem to be thinking that TE has fallen for the MA spiel of insult to manliness. And somewhere we have got TE's thoughts of the palna as an insult. Now my pov - does TE think of it as an insult to his manliness??? TE has taken this as an insult but is this a continuation to the SKL insult from Chudail Begum??? Palna gift can also be looked as TE thinking of his wives only as obects for providing with an heir not as individuals just as SKL was him thinking of women as objects for satisfying the itch - Which is definitely an insult. Similarly the Palna can also be regarded as an insult in other ways too. Here is a wife who is witholding conjugal rights from her legally wedded husband and wants all the benefits of a wife and is then gifting said husband a palna saying she does not knw who will give him his waaris but she hopes it will be soon!!! That is a taunt and an insult rolled into one to my mind - and remember this is the 16th century - infact even in the current century withholding conjugal rights by either spouse can be a cause for divorce!!!

So TE does have a case for thinking of the Palna gift as an insult - Now in which way he is thinking of this an an insult - that is anybody's guess - and hence TE's chiding his Chudail about Nazariya and of telling her to start viewing from his pov. TE regarding the insult being to his manliness is doubtful but he does see it as an insult and he wants his Chudail to understand that there are other povs than her own. If he could see her Grihna from her pov then she needs to see his insult from his pov too.

Fourthly - Mirza Hakim's greeting Jodha the Rajvanshi way and Jodha getting impressed and stating how different the 2 brothers are and ----- The very interesting smile and look on TE's face when MH touched Jodha's feet and said what he said - It was almost as if 'Oh there we will have Jodha now thinking how civilized Hakim is unlike me. Little does she knw of the truth' - Infact I am taking Hakim with a whole fistful of salt - something tells me TE also does not trust him.

Fifth - Benazir, oh my Benny babes! - No clue what TE is doing in this front at all except that he is not interested but she does serve a current purpose of getting to Chudail.

Lastly - the insult of 'The Night' - Somewhere TE actually has accepted the rejection as a part of his ISHQ perhaps. There is a post on Shyamala's thread by loveamine and sandhya and lashy - all of them speak eloquently of TE's Ishq and somewhere they have hit the nail bang on the head.

So what next??? - I dont know becoz as I said I have also got mixed signals from the CVs thru TE - Perhaps next week will bring clarity.

One thing to ponder for all - When TE heard from Burinazar's baandi of her fever he called it a profitable occurance - It seemed he meant it in more than one way - Kyun? Does he knw the Dak Munshi's bargain with BN or does he suspect her without knowing anything of that interaction and wanted to knw the Kabul connect hence wanted her to dance when Hakim had arrived - and it seems he must have personally handed the lep to BN and got her to take it infront of him - Kyun? - Does he want to ensure she does take the lep since he is expecting some kind of reaction becoz of it - Tulsi is used as an antidote to Poison - so if BN has injected herself with poison to kill TE then Tulsi will produce a reaction similar to what we saw in the precap.

PS - Shyamala - You are correct - Jodha still does not have a clue about pyaar - she is far far far away from Prem!!!

I'm confused too... exactly what does Jalal want? Love or Revenge?
Sometimes he shows symptoms of Love and Sometimes of Revenge?

he's confused himself and confusing viewers too...😕

Yes adiana
these weeks have been very confusing
As to Jalal trying to make Jodha jealous, I'm not sure why he is trying to. If he wants her to realise her love for him, then he has totally forgotten the rejection night and has overcome it due to his unalloyed selfless love. But when his love is so self-satisfying and pure, his natural reaction should be that, he should not worry about her reciprocation or reaction and be indifferent till she realises on her own and not pushing her to it.
On the other hand, if it not so much a divine love afterall and he wishes to take revenge, this is no way at all. As an emperor his handling revenge to SKL or paalna should be on a different plane altogether. This ben-chapter is cheap.
Secondly, I still HATE the way the Tasnim track was handled. Being the emperor, had he wanted Awaam's immediate reaction, he could have simply summoned them to the DEA and spoken to them what ultimately he spoke during the chaos. He could have also dumped AK in the Kaal Kothri for insulting his nikaah even without the awaam's demand. Who would question him? Surely there was no press. What purpose did Ruqaiya's address, on Jodha Mahaan's advice serve that his own address could not have? A simple declaration of the law being applicable henceforth could have solved the issue without ado.
Thirdly, as to Jalal's trust on MA, it is confusing. He stares at her in DEK in Tasnim matter as though in doubt, then trusts her in letter affair and tears it up. Again, for the mardangi and suryabaan matter he accepts but doesn't react.
Fourthly I do hope that MH turns out to be a creep beneath his sweet exterior and this makes Jo realise that appearances are deceptive and though Jalal may be ill-mannered at the outset, he is perfect and just within. (But will our myopically mahaan Jodha ever do something as realization?!!!!!...Sigh...)
Coming to Jodha, she is one character that I've felt like pounding many a times. Ever since the previous Meena Bazaar, she is exasperating. First for her blind prejudice that she couldn't overcome as she was so blinkered, then for her insufferable speeches and now for her total lack of sense and sensitivity. Is she such an innocent Barbara Cartland damsel that she is 'unaware' of her love for her husband or does she want to complete her thesis on prem before she finalises her action plan? Her rejection makes no sense. Even if we attribute it to fact that she was not expecting it, she must have apologised the next day or asked him politely why he crossed the line that night when he has always shown constraint ealier. The SKL accusation...cheee(Jodha style)... Nothing but Jalal's divine mohabbat should have held him back from sar-kalam-ing her.
This is not the story of Jhansi ki Rani where the heroine can rightfully own all the glories and haloes. Akbar is a character in history who is known to be shrewd, just, able, clever, diplomatic, brave and an exceptional administrator. If the script or story shows him anywhere lacking in any of these qualities to highlight the heroine, it will stand out like a sore. This happened in the Tasnim track, hope it doesn't happen again. The last few episodes are also ambiguous as to where Jalal and his abilities stand.

What I have been dying to see is equality between the leads - there should be a healthy balance; Jalaal's stature should not be reduced in order to increase Jodha's halo. Why should portraying one person in a positive light dim another's character? Jalaal should not be made to look like a tool (for lack of a better word) in order to show Jodha's "exemplary" qualities. After all, true love occurs between two equals.
