Yes adiana
these weeks have been very confusing
As to Jalal trying to make Jodha jealous, I'm not sure why he is trying to. If he wants her to realise her love for him, then he has totally forgotten the rejection night and has overcome it due to his unalloyed selfless love. But when his love is so self-satisfying and pure, his natural reaction should be that, he should not worry about her reciprocation or reaction and be indifferent till she realises on her own and not pushing her to it.
On the other hand, if it not so much a divine love afterall and he wishes to take revenge, this is no way at all. As an emperor his handling revenge to SKL or paalna should be on a different plane altogether. This ben-chapter is cheap.
Secondly, I still HATE the way the Tasnim track was handled. Being the emperor, had he wanted Awaam's immediate reaction, he could have simply summoned them to the DEA and spoken to them what ultimately he spoke during the chaos. He could have also dumped AK in the Kaal Kothri for insulting his nikaah even without the awaam's demand. Who would question him? Surely there was no press. What purpose did Ruqaiya's address, on Jodha Mahaan's advice serve that his own address could not have? A simple declaration of the law being applicable henceforth could have solved the issue without ado.
Thirdly, as to Jalal's trust on MA, it is confusing. He stares at her in DEK in Tasnim matter as though in doubt, then trusts her in letter affair and tears it up. Again, for the mardangi and suryabaan matter he accepts but doesn't react.
Fourthly I do hope that MH turns out to be a creep beneath his sweet exterior and this makes Jo realise that appearances are deceptive and though Jalal may be ill-mannered at the outset, he is perfect and just within. (But will our myopically mahaan Jodha ever do something as realization?!!!!!...Sigh...)
Coming to Jodha, she is one character that I've felt like pounding many a times. Ever since the previous Meena Bazaar, she is exasperating. First for her blind prejudice that she couldn't overcome as she was so blinkered, then for her insufferable speeches and now for her total lack of sense and sensitivity. Is she such an innocent Barbara Cartland damsel that she is 'unaware' of her love for her husband or does she want to complete her thesis on prem before she finalises her action plan? Her rejection makes no sense. Even if we attribute it to fact that she was not expecting it, she must have apologised the next day or asked him politely why he crossed the line that night when he has always shown constraint ealier. The SKL accusation...cheee(Jodha style)... Nothing but Jalal's divine mohabbat should have held him back from sar-kalam-ing her.
This is not the story of Jhansi ki Rani where the heroine can rightfully own all the glories and haloes. Akbar is a character in history who is known to be shrewd, just, able, clever, diplomatic, brave and an exceptional administrator. If the script or story shows him anywhere lacking in any of these qualities to highlight the heroine, it will stand out like a sore. This happened in the Tasnim track, hope it doesn't happen again. The last few episodes are also ambiguous as to where Jalal and his abilities stand.
