My dear, that stree ke liye lalasa (SKLL) is an afterthought, I would think. Jodha is upset at being booted out of Jalal's rooms and then having to literally force her way in, whereas she had been used, of late, to simply barging in on even his official meetings. I always used to think that very odd, and it became a habit as Jalal never pulled her up over that. He is indirectly responsible for half her uppittyness.

If it was not an afterthought, then she needs, as someone wrote so pithily, to see both an oculist and a psychiatrist!😉

This apart, what apni Jodha misses is not Jalal, but the excessive bhav he gave her, and the khaas begum position as well. This is only a variation of the theme I had developed in one of my earlier posts, that what Jodha will come to love is not Jalal ,but the eager grateful pupil that he had become. Now that is gone, and it is time for her to wake up and smell the coffee.

Good!! I hope the old Jalal does not come back any time soon.

Jalal is unable to get over her and she forgot that he mentioned that, he wants to say the same thingk what she wrote in the letter and doesn't know how to express. All she could see was "lust". If she saw "lust" then why was she so sweet and explained to him that he is not stone hearted??

You must be having second sight, Lashy dear, for though I could not detect anything malicious in KT (khaas tohfa ; please docket for future reference!😉) till Thursday, last night she bared a set of nice sharp claws to Jodha, like a Persian cat.

I loved her neat jab about being ready to accept ANY utaran of Jodha's! Now Jodha did try to hold her own, but it was not a terrain that suits her, and she ended up always looking both defensive and inadequate.

For example, that bit about the Shahenshah giving anything he chooses to a daasi, simply rolled off KT like water off a duck's back, and her comeback was far more to the point. Lastly, Jodha's remark about the Shahenshah choosing to pamper one pigeon or the other when the mood took him, and that this should not make that pigeon feel too big for its boots, was especially ill chosen, for it would apply perfectly to Jodha herself, and her present state.

I somehow do not think KT will harm Jalal, unless she is really a vishkanya, which is nonsense, for those ladies existed only in Mauryan times, not Mughal. She might well be an Abu Mali spy, which now seems to me an almost sure thing.

I suppose then we shall have Jodha the Mahaan saving Jalal from her clutches, with the Hamida-led troika singing hosannas and Jalal grovelling at Jodha's feet in abject gratitude. Ugh.. The very thought puts me off.But I feel that is a very likely scenario, so look out for it.😉

Your daydream is not at all likely to materialise. KT is not a fool, and she would know perfectly well that the one way to make Jalal abandon his anger against Jodha would be for her to be hurt in any way. So do not get your hopes up on that count!😉

I do not want any resolution of this track for another week at least. Jodha needs to stew in her own juice for a while longer;then a bit of sense just might penetrate into her cerebellum, if not her medulla oblongata.

This said, I am amazed at the speculations being trotted out in some threads, with zero attention to even minimal plausibility. One was that RTPandey would stay back to help Jodha! How on earth can a court singer look after a Shahi Begum?

Lastly,what I want to know, Lashy, is does Jodha always bathe with all her clothes on, or is this excessive modesty only for the audience's benefit? It looks absolutely ridiculous.

Next question, is her chamku outfit drip dry, and will it not burn a hole in the Balaji production budget for Jodha Akbar if if shrinks or the colours run, and so it needs replacement?

Lastly, the exchange between her and (the very unsatisfactory new) Moti merely proves Tripti's theory that what apni Jodha misses is not Jalal, but the excessive bhav he gave her, and the khaas begum position as well.

My dear Komal,

I agree with you on the jealousy vs humiliation debate re: what Jalal is doing to Jodha. In fact, 3 days ago, on Dec.18, I had written the following on both Lashy's and Meghana's threads:

"There is an icy fury to Jalal right now, a desire to hurt savagely, a kind of refined, deliberate cruelty. He is not so much trying to make Jodha jealous as to humiliate her".

I am afraid I am not at all sorry for Jodha in her present predicament. She has had it coming to her for a long time, and I am glad payback time has arrived at long last. I once made a list of all her rudeness, her insults and her arrogant behaviour towards Jalal in public, and it was a very long list. What he did to her at the jashn was nothing to the way she has behaved towards him time and again, for all that I felt if was inappropriate for his sense of self esteem and the grandeur of his rank.

Yes, the new Moti looks very raw and unsatisfactory, and I too miss the old one, who was so convincing.

Jo is hurt. Her pride is hurt. I think her talking about her being Rajyavanshi was quite in the character. She did was humiliated infront of everybody so it was expected for her to fume on the humiliation she faced at the Jashan. She went to Ja because she wanted to talk to him thats is why even after returning the gift, she didn't left his room. It was only after the whole BenJa's nautanki. That she left fuming and hence ends up shouting on my poor Moti😆. Jo is yet to be jelaous out of love, right now she is bother about the fact that Jalal is trying to replace her position in his life by merely a dancer. And its quite right. The actual jealousy will happen when the interactions between BenJa will have nothing to do with Jo. When it won't have involvement of Jo's dress or jewellery or anythnig else.

Ja's sole purpose for now is just to humiliate her. I dont think he is trying to make her jealous. By asking Ben to wear that bracelet as an anklet and by making her wear Jo's dress was just part of the humiliation he planned for her. He is yet to realise that Jo is being affected like he never expected. Once he senses that Jo is being jealous then you will see him in full action and then he may take his focus from humiliating her to making her jealous. But as of now he is just using Ben to humiliate Jo by showing her how he compare Jo with merely a dancer. He is not to be blamed as he is hurt himself.

I dont mind this humiliations as of yet, they aren't unbearable and seeing how Ja is still stuck on Jo and feels for her, my wound of seeing Jo getting humiliated doesn't deepens...Lets see what's in store for us...😊

Benazir is pereceptive and can read Ja better than Jo and Ruq...And guilty to say i like her...😆

P.S my heart sank when I heard Moti is going to be replaced...I love this Moti😭

As usual, I agree with most of what you have written below - the parts I liked the best being @blue.

The only point where I differ from you is the part @green. The end result might well have been what you have noted, but the fact is that Jalal means that to be a crushing insult. That is clear from the wolfish smile of pure satisfaction he gives her as she looks across at him in shock and tears.

In fact TE actually shows compassion by getting Jodha to leave the DEK since he would have realised her feeling humiliated and as she cannot leave on her own since the Emperor is still in the court (court etiquette is that all can leave only after the Emperor leaves and all arrive before the Emperor arrives). His giving her this chance to leave the DEK is so that she now does not become an object of pity too. To me this shows a depth of understanding of human psychology that is uncommon and compassionate. In fact had TE made Jodha sit thru, that would have been cruel and then we could have all jointly called him all kinds of names.

All the times in 19th epi when Jodha sees Benny babes with TE are 'Au Fait' - not one having been a deliberate set up of TE's. TE is not on a 'Make Jodha Jealous Path'. But he is definitely on a 'Rile Jodha' strategy and Teach Jodha a lesson on male psyche mood. It is interesting that both of us have chosen the word "rile" for what Jalal wants to do to Jodha; I have noted in this post "The end being, as she (Benazir)also makes out at first glance, to rile his Jodha Begum."

And why is TE seeming to give so much of bhaav to Benny baby - so much so that even MA thinks Benny baby has captured TE's eye is anybody's guess. TE does play all his cards close to his chest!!!

Since the epi of 18th I have been doubting TE's intentions and actions. There is more to them than what meets the eys. In fact had even made the post for the scenes of 18th that were very 'interpretive' - The Jalal-MA scene where he comes highly charged and towards the end is totally deflated - seems he has started doubting MA over her letter reading - his tearing the letter could be read as an indication of his faith in Jodha's honesty and when MA shed her crocodile tears over her emotional atyaachaar - TE no longer responds his usual way by getting emotional the way he used to - in fact he was withdrawn.

And the TE-Burinazar intro scene - The smirk on TE's face was back - could be interpreted in 2 ways -
1. as if saying well well well I seem to have been given the gift for teaching my Ameri Mirch a lesson in understanding male (specifically the royal male - TE) psyche or
2. She is Abul Mali's special frm his harem - why would he let her go unless she is his plant in my palace to harm me - does he really think he can harm me - The TEDHA Emperor - using her as a pawn just becoz he thinks she is beauty non pareil!!!! Well then bring it on man and bring it on baby.

In my reading could be a combo of both the above.

Coming to Jodh's humiliation at DEK - she deserved it - not as a 'tit for tat' but for being such an idiot - Was she called by TE to sit by him? Why did she even assume that he would call her? Is there not Salima Begum also counted by TE as one of 3 khaas begums? How in the world did she discount Salima? That was a total insult to Salima and to my mind she deserved what she got just for that insult? Did Salima Begum stand? Where is Jodha's royal dignity and sense of right and wrong at that moment? Is not Salima senior to her in being TE's wives? Should Jodha not have given Salima the primary place? This is spot on; I cannot imagine how I happened to miss it. Bravo!

Jodha set herself up for the fall and oh boy TE showed her the mirror of her self righteous crap!!!

All said and done - Jodha's heart needs to be broken open - to let the light of love in and this can only happen once her Abhimaan is broken - Jodha has crossed the thin line that divides Guroor (self-respect) and Abhimaan (pride). Rt. now her pride her abhimaan is in dust. gr8. hopefully soon her heart will break open and she will then be able to soak the Light of Love.

As for Ram Tanu Pandey ji - To my mind he is Jodha's male version in the Abhimaan department - An artist especially a musician has to have self respect and humility - Ram Tanu is another who is setting himself up for the proverbial fall thanks to his Abhimaan (Pride) - Hope we can see that soon so that Ram Tanu can then evolve into Tansen the incomparable. The man is unbelievable in his sustained arrogance. I assume his patron, the Maharaja of Rewa, kept him on praise and fresh air as rewards, and thus saved a lot of money into the bargain. !😉

So, the writers couldn't come up with a better plot to bring the two of them together, came up with the time tested jealousy aspect. But is it really jealousy that Jodha is feeling? Because I have plenty of moments where i could say that Jalal was falling for her. In Jodha's case, I draw up a blank.
