Wow, thanks for such fun+ informative topic/post Abhay.Jewelry and dresses, their styles are favorites anytime. and now perhaps we will appreciate more the efforts taken by various people involved with the show.

👏 this is for your efforts!
also now that Tansen has been introduced, does Akbar's biography mentions anything , some anecdotes etc, about Muz, Jalal's love for music??

Thnx.😊

yes..I read about Tansen also..In different book..
I do not remember exact pages, but somehow telling you.
Ain-i-Akbari,1, p-600(approx.).there is a mention about the royal musicians..there..

Abul Fazl(read Akbar, because whatever he is writing is infact on Akbar's order only. So, i ll use Akbar now..)

Such a BEAUTIFUL description was given..
I am telling what i remember.. I was a pleasure reading it.

So,
Akbar describes that, Mian Tansen is a singer of such breed who has not been seen in Hindustan for the last 1000 years..

YES...
There is a reference, with respect to the royal ladies..It just flattered me..😉
..
I was "gone" for a few moments..😆

It reads-->>(what all i can recall..from my notes..do not have the book now..)

"
The wonderful power of this "charm" of music can not be described.

It causes the "heart" of the "beautiful creatures of the IMPERIAL household" to shine with their tongue.(i feel this means that ladies also started singing..?)(he is not talking about baandis...this is imperial..u see...)

Also, there was a line there, which "probably" meant that even the royal ladies used to start playing the instruments..!!...(it was mentioned that the ladies' heart reached to string and cords.!.that's why i deciphered so.)

The melodies enter through ear and take first seat.😆

And, the "hearts", brings with them thousands of gifts.(this means i feel heart of the emperor and his ladies.!!..and courtiers also..)

Anyone who hears it feels either joyful or sorrow.(on a lighter note, i feel this means , ya to insaan shant ho jata tha ya phir Ashant, after listening the music.)

When order is given to sing, the wine of harmony flows, which increases intoxication in some, and self-control in others.(again this points to 2 extreme qualities..i think u got it...WHICH QUALITIES...???😉)...(jalal mein to intoxication hi increase hogi..i feel...as per the spoiler..!!..)
"

The above info is what which i inferred from that book...as i deduced..
The sort of English which is there in the book is 😕. It takes time of understand it.
Plz verify also.
I am not deliberately trying to showcase romance here.
The book itself uses such "intoxicating" words that i need not exaggerate all that info.😆.

BTW:
In that account, heart and intoxication were frequently used words.

This was not the topic. Just u asked about Music. So i wrote this...😊
I feel this answers you question..
Many of ur related answers have already been covered in pages in between.

👍🏼..

aur kabhi kabhi by mistake, comment bhi kar dia karo..😳

SUPER topic Abhay
Should say I loved it..festivals,clothing and accessories of the mughal ladies..👍🏼..I really want to visit the exhibition..what an amount of information has it clearly given..wow
The paintings were informative...the explanation given on the difference in styles of dressing as expressed by the painting was superb👏..the similarities in their dressing and the pearl belts as worn by the mughal emperors are accurate👏..Will elaborate on this a little more.
In ain--I-akbari,Abu fazl talks a the sixteen celebrated items of Indian women's daily ritual..they are

1.bathing
2.use of sandalwood paste
3.wearing dresses of different colours each part of the day
4.using collyrium
5.wearing necklaces and earrings
6.wearing the nose going of pearls, gold.
7.Wearing ornaments around the neck apart from the necklace
8.adorning oneself with flowers
9.rubbing perfumes
10.use of henna on hands
11.using essence of rose on clothes
12.wearing belt with hanging bells..
13.plaiting of hair with jewellery..
14..use of sindoor and tikka on the hair partition..
15.head with odhni and clothes made of silks of various kind
16 .chewing pan..
Information taken from chapter 3 of ain-I- akbari..connect this either scenes of ruqqu and also jewellery worn in the show..just that mughal wore clothes a little different from the rajput queens..😃

Many people asked about the type of clothes worn by ladies in the paintings.. they wore clothes so fine in texture that they painted it like that..the material were poetically called ab-e-rawan(running water),baft hawa(woven air),shabnam(evening dew)..shabnam came all the way from Dhaka and was called Dhaka malmal.. that is why the "glory of faith" painting has MUZ adorning malmal odhni.
(Taken from Kumaraswami' s book arts and crafts of India and Ceylon.p196)

Remember the cold clothes worn by akbar on the way from amer to Agra..people were calling him "Richard the third"..clothes like that existed according manucci ,the Italian traveller..it was called tus or wild goat's hair..so another authenticity in the show.

Coming to the fusion of clothes as seen in paintings of the mughal era-
The mughal ladies wore jagulfi -a sort of gown fastening at neck and waist opening between the fastening , with wrinkled long sleeves and flowing skirts reaching up to the ankle.this was adapted in time by rajput..so you know why MUZ was wearing the clothes one saw in the "glory of faith"
(Taken from Kumaraswami' s book(1927)..as written by abul fazl)

This is just about clothes ,will write about festivals in my post tomorrow.

Abhay, I heard that MUZ was given another name after her marriage. "Vali Nimat Begum..

The above is a interesting hit i found on a edict she issued.

it talks about a edict MUZ issued. Can you find it more about me? What was the edict she issued?

The exercept from one one of the edict issued by MUZ

The seals on the hukm says, "Vali Ni'mat Begum, valideh Nur al- Jahangir, thus clearly identifying MUZ, with Vali Ni'
