Calm down dear...he definitely had a plan in his mind. He's just not able to execute it as people became against him. Jodha just suggested him a way to execute his plan. Its not like he put forth Jo's plan as his own...he's just waiting for the plan to be successful. I m sure once the track is over he'll himself tell everyone in the court that it was Jo's suggestion. Have patience dear.😳

Less said the better...
Neither am I watching this show for a documentary on Akbar's life...
nor am I watching it to see one lady who always saves the day like in all saas bahu serials...

I want a balance in both..I want leads who are dignified equals who might still have faults but stay in character (somewhat) during adversities...

As komalcutie had said elsewhere...in order to balance Ja-Jo..they keep see-sawing the two...
first Jalal was bad to Jo ..then Jo during the Amer track right until Vachan bit was bad to him...during this part they showed Jalal make some clever decisions
now they have to again show Jo as saviour so Jalal has to appear weak...this see-saw is going to go on and on...

What are they going to show in future then... when Jodha gets annoyed by Jalal MU-ing her, that she returns to Amer gets engaged to some other Rajput and Jalal comes in the nick of time to stop the wedding... some CVs this!

He put forth the plan as his own to Ruqs. What he does later is immaterial. How can such a man be respected or admired. Extremely disappointed in his behavior today.

If you look the episode carefully you'll understand he definitely had a plan in his mind but after his decision the common people became against him. Jodha just suggested him a way to execute his plan he had thought already. So it doesn't mean he's a weak emperor. There are lot more things to show the greatness of Akbar- the great. So have patience. All this is being done just to make Jalal get impressed with Jodha & fall for her.

I always keep a lookout for a redeeming quality in a track. I'll watch the episode carefully and see if I can pick up on what you noticed.

I definitely don't think he's a weak emperor. Remember how he handled the fort issue? That was amazing! Jalal ended up giving it away, but only on his terms! I loved the twist in that track. Even during the religion issue with Jodha, he still stood by her condition and defended her. I just feel like that clever, I'm-not-gonna-let-anyone-walk-all-over-me emperor was missing in this track.

I can see that this situation is supposed end up with Jodha emerging in a good light, but considering this track arrived on the throes of the birthday track, during which she impressed him greatly, it just seems like too much all at once. He was already singing praises for her; we didn't need another reason for that so soon.

Anyway, I hope I'm proved wrong by the end of this track. I'd love to see Jalal do something or say something that retains his powerful character. I'm still hoping for that.

That's what disappointed me, that fact that he was ready to do it. I'm still waiting to see if anything else will happen at the end of this track, some kind of twist to redeem it. I do not want this kind of self-sacrificing Jalal; I want him to be the man who manages to get his way and shuts up his enemies all in one blow.

I agree with you completely. For me the whole issue is nothing but to highlight Jodha, CV's have turned weak. Worst of all is, he decided to ditch his chief wife to set an example BUT was ready to leave the throne for the vachan given to wife of mere political convenience, how silly this is.

Jalal was much better than this, It makes me to think Is this way he ruled the empire in Bairam Khan's absence for nearly 2 years before his "epic" marriage?? They could have shown him discussing with "Nine Jewels" of his court or some plan B than Jodha lecturing/advising...today he is beg let down.

Yup, and I mentioned in another post that Jodha was just praised by all during the birthday track. I had slight issues with that track as well, but all in all, I enjoyed the way it ended, the way it changed their relationship. If this track was really to highlight Jodha, it was done too soon, and I didn't like the execution, if this is really how the track will end, with the people revolting based on Ruqs speech. We know Jalal is better than this; that's why this track is hard to watch.

Even he had told Ruqs to trust his decision. That's why I'm HOPING for some kind of twist to redeem him, but it will have to be very effective and logical for the audience to accept it! Which I think will be difficult to do at this point.

I want this balance too.

There's no need to make one character weak just to strengthen another, especially when we know the character is perfectly capable. CVs have shown Jalal in a powerful manner, especially during political decisions. That's why it's upsetting me that he really didn't do anything in this situation.

Jalal was lacking in understanding what it meant to be a true emperor, and Jodha was able to show him. That was a good way to bring up one character's flaw and fix it while highlighting the other character.

In this case however, we know that Jalal is clever but we're being force-fed this notion that he's lost and doesn't know what to do. This is what I thought was going to happen: Jalal was going to accept the divorce and declare that all child marriages since his marriage with Ruqs are now void. Then we would have seen people going crazy over this new law, and complaining about the unfairness. All of this was actually shown happening, so logically, we would have seen Jalal being pressured into changing the law to be applied henceforth. This way, he's not just doing what he thinks is right, but he's only agreeing to the demands of his people. This way, no one could ever say he changed the law for his own benefit.

But I would have wanted for this to be Jalal's plan all along. I wouldn't even have minded if it was actually Jodha's plan, as long as Jalal never intended to divorce Ruqs. This intention is what doesn't sit well with me, it's what's making him look weak.
