I must say I'm not sure if I'm too thrilled about a number of things:
1. Jalal sudenly discovering his heart - great news but the over dramatisation of the fact some how did not gel with my view of Jalal. I just expected the discovery to overtake him without him even realising it and him coming to terms with it and accepting it without too much hype & drama
2. Jalal announcing to Maham that he considers all 3 begum-e-khas - given that he is a man & probably has no clue how a woman's mind works, but should he not be a bit more discerning of the issues surrounding maham & jodha and not waved the red flag before the proverbial bull. It was almost as if he was challenging maham to prove him wrong about the importance of the 3 begums
3. Jalal announcing to Maham that he will be consulting his 3 begums about this matter - agree with your analysis that he's probably subtly informing maham this is not a political matter but a family one, but would have preferred he kept this strategy closer to heart and only revealed to maham at a later date, not allowing maham the opportunity to plot and scheme to convince Jalal his strategy is wrong
But I must say, I love that Hamida & Salima are so supportive of the Jodha-Jalal relationship And even more so I love that Jodha is so honest and straight forward she did not try and hide her change of heart from Jalal.
I think the forum tomorrow will reveal to Jalal that:
Jodha is intelligent
Salima is wise
Ruks should be used only for pleasure
Maham is someone he should beware of

My thoughts are in synch with yours re Jalal. Usually he does keep things close to his chest, but this time he's being more open about his mind and heart? I suppose they have to show him changing his attitudes a bit thanks to Jodha. But... something not quite right...

Mansi,

With due apologies..am putting up two posts here..
Only One of which is directly related to the episode today..
The second ..is pure emotion...and I start out with the second one first...since it is so much more important..here goes..

Bat for the underdog...my dear girl...woo freakin hoo to you..
"The problem in the world over is that a woman is objectified.."
If this statement is inserted contemporaneously...then a standing round of applause to the scribes of this show..Salud!

I put my humour on the back burner here...this is an issue that is extremely corrosive to my heart, nay- eating into my very essence...what happened in New Delhi was the very anithesis of humanity...and yet...there is precious little that our law and order givers have gleaned from it...a photojournalist in Mumbai, an unnamed lass in the hinterland...a three year old child...a child for cryin out loud...the Tehelka scandal...where the F#*k does this end?.. And how...

I am in frustrated tears as I write this...there is no attempt at societal corrections...young men think this is a game...throw a turn of dice...as it were...and then life goes back to normal...and our politicians so much prefer that we go back into our grinding routines...while they play merry with innocent lives...
And seriously...DO NOTHING...

NORMAL???ROUTINE??? Whether it is gun control in the US...and if have seen pictures of those adorable cherubs from Newtown played over and over while you weep your gut out in grief...or rage against the very deities you worship...when you know...you know damnit...that the feisty ,strong young lass was succumbing to the after effects of the brutality wreaked upon her system...you realize that something human within you has just died with a cynical smile...the part that believed that there is a baseline level of humanity and decency in every person...nopes...not anymore
In this context...raising this issue on a public platform deserves a standing ovation...it helps to bring this debate into the very subconscious , semi comatose, status ignoramus/obliviatus of each individual watching the show..that this is not an issue that should ever be allowed to fade from public memory...else the fight will be lost...

We owe it to the life of that young lady...we owe it to those children...and there are just so many of them...we owe it to the survivors...the battle scarred..as it were...else we will forever be in their debt...

Hi, I applaud you for brining in this issue in this thread where Jodha is rising her voice on the same issue. Forget about the Delhi, or Mumbai brutes, whom you can pin point and bring them under the court of Law and rise our voice. There are 'n' number od cases were burried without brining them to light merely because they were within the boundaries of the family.
I just can't believe, what is happening to the current men population. Why are they behaving worse than the street dogs? Is it because of frustration? then what women dont feel frustrated? Do they also search for some opposite sex to shell out their frustration. There are cases where father use his own daughter, brother attack his siste and blackmail her not to reveal to anyone, uncle on his neice, FIL on DIL what not. I will give 3 worst eg. towards where our men are drowing.
1. A father had been accused by his wife as he had raped his own daughter and the case was in front of the magistrate and when asked, teh psychopat gave an example of the tree and fruit. he had the guts to question the Judge, whether he will not taste the fruit from his own tree which he sowed and took care. will he allow some one else to taste the fruit of his hard work? If a father looks at his daughter this way, what a law can do to help a lady. You can ask for protection from an external criminal but when the one who was supposed guard the Girls integrity only tries to rob it, where is the safety for a girl.
2. The daughter complains to her mother that her brothet is misbehaving and tried to indulge her, the girl was being scolded and advised not to raise voice against the son of teh family to get adjusted to his needs. If a mother supports her son and spoli her daughter, where should the girl go and complain?
3. Wife complains to husband about her BIL & FIL trying to take advantage , the husband merely tells her that from the begining they have been sharing everything among themselves and she is no different. hence she needs to obey their wishes as well and fulfill their needs too... The husband is called the savior and if he pushes her to the drain, with whom ill she complain?
Is thre any end for this henious deeds? Over above there are countless ads advertising, how to gain animal power, how to get rid of the unwanted pre..., etc. Sre we really becoming civilized or dropping down to cave mans age where there was no boundary, any one can have anybody and no claims??????

I knew you would like the Jalal ka heart scene. It's just our cup of tea! 😳😳😳
And yes, Maham was being led by the nose yesterday by Jalal. Superb genius, he is, of handling people!👏

haha to tell u the truth it wasn't that easy run away each day it was like a cyber marathon 🤢 😆 😆

Yup the Jalal heart scene was just up our alley cause we are some hopeless romantics even though sometimes I act like I'm not 😛 😳

Mahamanga just doesn't know when to quit she likes to rub the salt into the wounds but Jalal is just her match, he plays a mean game of life chess 😃

What exactly bothers you about Jalal's behaviour? I must confess that since I am not seeing something wrong there, perhaps I am not able to see the counter argument clearly. But I want to understand, so if you could explain it to me a bit, I think I'd like to be able to appreciate the opposite view ...?
Was it that he should not have shown so much emotion and should have been more reserved about what's going on inside him? Did I get that right?

Loved reading your post...😊 My take on precap would be in favor of Jodha! ...It is her among the three wives how has seen women suffered more ..She has seen moti humiliated near the kali temple..She has seen her bhabhisa thinking about Johar when she is pregnant with a child...She herself was forced into marriage both by her parents and Jalal. On the other hand ruqu has always ruled the harem...She has never felt the pain of being humiliated and targeted politically and emotionally...Salima has always been kept quite about her feelings so there is nothing much to predict or say about her...I guess Jalal will do the justice in favor of Jodha which is quite right

Hmm ... that is one way to look at it! Didn't occur to me to see who has had the more traumatic time of the three wives!😲
